I wanna learn ring around but I cant bend my pinky without my ring finger. I wanna know if its worth it for me to try and train my pinky finger to bend independently, if it is even possible. has anyone managed to go from absolutely no ability to bend it (i mean to the extreme where when you try to bend your pinky your ring finger actually starts bending first) to being able to have complete control. Am I wasting my time, anyone?

I had some pinky independence but I have signfigant more control of my pinky after training it for stuff like RA. I don't see why you shouldn't be able to do it, you might just have to work a bit before you are at the beginning level for other people

hmm, I have trained my pinky enough to do some hybrids. maybe learn the sonic clip 34 23 first, if masterd that, go for the hybrid sonic 34 23 to MA rev., than learn the RA rev. and then the RA well, that is how I learned it! G'luck

learn inverse sonic and inverse sonic rev in 34, i can do a double ra and reverse inverse sonic but regular is eluding me because of the way my ring finger is naturally curved sideways

I had absolutely no ability to bend my pinky, but now after LOADS of stretching my pinky finger has perfect finger independence, i can do a perfect inverse sonic 34-23 And ringarounds are pretty easy now too It also helped me master my flush sonic so i think it's well worth it

those guys are right :) I want to add also shadow 24-24 cont. It would help to flexible your both pinky and ring fingers.

The finger will become independent over time. My pinky is sort of independent but not enough for pinky/ring spreads. So just keep practicing at that area until your fingers become loose/independent.

Maybe you're actually left handed! Or you could learn to penspin with your left hand and write and do other things with your right hand?

Thanks for the help guys. Buutttt... Alotta you mentioned inverse sonics and sonic clips, i can do both of those tricks and they don't require the pinky to bend in the way im talking about. @Mufoofee I got the exact same thing, lets be gimpy together :)

@Tinybizzle hybrid: sonic 34 23 to MA rev, it means you do first a sonic who'll start in the pink and the ringfinger. but when you are in the position when you have the pen in the between the pink and middle finger, do a middlearound rev. who'll start in the position of the pinky and the middle finger! :D G'luck with that! :P

a little out of topic I cannot understand how ppl do Inverse Sonic 34 23 smoothly I do it with a lot of difficulty =.=" Does it relate to finger independence ?

  23. crinix
    Date: Tue, May 3 2011 18:46:05

@Elune It's about ring finger independence. Some people can do it easily when they are still beginners, some they can't when they are pro(me:p).

Catch in 23? I can do it (most of the time), dont see why that deserves its own name

I got the same problem, but with my middle finger. I can't bend it without bending my ring finger, but I can do it with my left hand. tips?

yah its not that hard to train it just takes 10 mins of your time

  29. aramos13

you have to strech the muscle and then after that you just get used to it

well i trained by seeing if i can bend my pinky down to touch my palm independently, i also did charge 34 and double charge 34-23. I used KTrinh93's 'Curing Flexibility Woes' video to help. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1m40jW37kpo
