Well you seem to be pretty new to spinning, are you using a heavier mod? If so go down in weight and try maybe a rsvp mx or a metallic commsa, just something lighter. It's probably not carpal tunnel though. When I first started spinning, my hand hurt and got sore quite a bit, but you just slowly build strength in your hand as you spin. I'd recommend stretching your hands out just to keep them loose.

Carpal tunnel only occurs if you pen spin straight on for a super long time (e.g. typing for 10 hours straight); no breaks, no stops. Also, carpal tunnel affects your wrist (so it's more like your wrist hurts). If your hands hurt, just stop for bit. And Tentcell is right about heavy mods.

yup, they are right. just spin a light mod or take a break for a bit. also i find soaking your hand in warm/hot water (like taking a bath) really helps relieve that tension. i know how hard taking a break can be when you are addicted to spinning, but its usually a good idea to not overwork your hand

Don't do power/spin heavy as much or take a break. I stopped spinning heavy.

@geko I'm sure that it is normal as a beginner because your hands aren't used to that much action. Maybe try to not spin as much or not as long in a period of time. And try some hand and wrist stretches. And I don't think power tricks help at all. My hands and wrists have been hurting lately and I have been doing power tricks. Maybe try to ease up on how much you do. Hope you get better soon. :)

Yeah, Kari is a power trick noob. Take short breaks and massage your hands. Kari is right, you aren't used to this work on your hands.
