Manipulative Arts / Balisong (Butterfly) Knife Tricks

Ok, so i got a broken Benchmade Butterfly Knife from my friend for 10 bucks, i sent it in to Benchmade down in Oregon for 5 bucks to get it fixed and refurbished. Once i get it back, i want to learn some tricks. Any help, tips, suggestions, general discussion, post here!

Learn the easiest tricks first, e.g. Y2K Rollover, Zen Rollover, maybe tape up the sharp end so you won't cut your fingers off.

trainers are gay... no matter how pro you are w/ a trainer you wouldn't be of the same level when you hold a balisong....i got a few cuts from my 1st balisong when i was 1st flipping..after a while i was able to do aerials but quit flipping also since i broke it from too much dropping lol...now i have a traditional filpino style balisong which isn't so sharp but its so sturdy and i love it....29cm...hehehe

What kind of benchmade do you have? I'm more into balis than pen spinning but you know man i cant get my knife to school =D The flipping arena has the best list of tutorial vids on the internet (my opinion) and iwe learned alot there. IMO the heavier the blade the easier you'll learn trick,my uncle's balisong is heavier than mine it's better than mine @papa happy : he's the bonkura for knivespinning i guess

yeah hes really good, hes my fav flipper, and i get to meet him soon.... so that will be cool, it will be nice to chill with flippers thats for sure! -

ok so for everyone in cali who thinks butterfly knifes are illegal they are NOT but it is illegal to carry them if the blade is over 2 inches same goes for a trainer to legally carry it the blade has to be 2 inches or less which sucks but you can own either and keep it in your house

I suggest learning simple tricks first like the double rollout and quick draw. If you learn fast than i suggest learning the cherry picker and other tricks of that sort.
