What happens with me is when any game is about to go to the screen where I get to pick my character, the game just crashes. Steam is still working fine, but the game closes by itself.

guys when you go in the game just lower all your video settings to the lowest like the resolution to 480x640 or whatever the lowest one and lower all the detail stuff it will work much better

I play all my games in windowed mode because my computer sucks But Alien swarm wont load at all it's retarded -

Nah. Portal works fine. It has nothing to do with that, the game doesn't even OPEN. -

I finished the campain and I'm going for the speed runs now. ^___^ If anyone want to try speed running the game in normal mode (mainly achieve the target times from the achievements, but maybe more, speed running this game is a lot of fun believe me) feel free to contact me. My only problem is despite having graphics lowered a lot, the game still lags a lot in the elevator (mission 2).

Dhurr, Portal is way older, probably Alien Swarm uses a newer Steam Engine build that needs never drivers. Also it's recommended to update frequently. Elevator Scene doesn't lag for me... but the game get's boring fast, need new maps. Edit: Ai Director => enemies spawn according to your teams skill/health ? I wonder if it's implemented correctly. -

Elevator scene lags for me but I assume it's just the steam. Lags the same in every game, I'm pretty sure it's just my graphics card.

Basically a futuristic l4d with an overhead view. Melee is useless though, and no special aliens as there were special infected in l4d. Still, it's free, so it can entertain you for a little.

Melee as in right click is not that useful. Too much cool down. Chainsaw however, is pretty strong.
