If you need any music, I can upload it to mediafire or filesonic for you. I have a large collection of metal, classical, jazz and asian music. I am particularly keen on my classical collection, as I believe it is stuff that is hard to get, even on the Internet.

my classical collection is mostly orchestral, covers baroque to modern. mostly centered around piano concertos of the late romantic era (start of the 20th century) asian music referred here is referring to chinese, japanese and korea pop and rock. in other words, popular music from those countries. -

lol jazz dunno @ION http://www.filesonic.com/file/4161218094/classical1.rar contains the stuff you wanted plus William Grant still -> Symphony no.1 "Afro-American" Since you're american, you should know more about american music history. William Grant Still is the first black symphonic composer. If you like music by Gershwin, you will like this. http://www.filesonic.com/file/4161218094/classical1.rar pass = zombo heres another one http://www.filesonic.com/file/4177606674/1935%20-%20Piano%20Concerto%20In%20B%20flat%20minor.rar this is the piano concerto in B flat minor by Kurt Atterberg. He's a swedish composer and this concerto is truly epic. If you love romantic music, this is it if you like that kind of highly romantic emotional music, I can also upload Erich Wolfgang Korngold's violin concerto, great piece of work
-
Date: Sun, Dec 11 2011 19:46:24
This is awesome thank you so much. Yeah I'm pretty much the only person in my music class who's heard of Still I brought him up once and my teacher didn't really know him. Yeah I'm really into romantic music so the Korngold concerto would be greatly appreciated
-
Date: Sun, Dec 11 2011 20:04:04
@ION are familiar with established composers like germans Richard Strauss and Paul Hindemith, british like Edward Elgar, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Benjamin Britten, or William Walton, russians like Borodin and Glazunov, czechs like Janacek and Bedrich Smetana, americans like Barber and Copland, french like Francis Poulenc and Darius Milhaud? Do I need to go over those composers? Cesar Franck, Carl Nielsen, Bela Bartok, Charles Ives... or should I got less famous composers like Rawsthorne, Roussel, Bloch, Bax, Benjamin, Bliss, Martinu, Alkan, Kabalevsky, Lalo, Rubbra, Dohnanyi, Martin, Delius...
-
Date: Sun, Dec 11 2011 20:13:45
I'm pretty familiar with the well known composers so i guess the less famous ones. I haven't listened to much non canonical music

http://www.filesonic.com/file/4178599584/1945%20-%20Violin%20Concerto%20in%20D%20major.rar this is korngold's violin concerto next I'll upload Bloch's Schelomo because it is a fantastic cello concerto, the subject (principal theme) of the work is only revealed halfway through the work, but it is such a glorious moment when it happens
-
Date: Sun, Dec 11 2011 21:08:19
http://www.filesonic.com/file/4178728474/1916%20-%20Schelomo.rar schelomo by Ernest Bloch. a fantastic program music cello concerto telling the story of King Solomon of the Jews. The cello here is of course king Solomon himself
-
Date: Sun, Dec 11 2011 21:11:58
Rawsthorne - Yes Roussel - Who? Bloch - Yes. Bax - Who? Benjamin - Who? Bliss - Who? Martinu Who? Alkan - The BEST EVER! Kabalevsky - Yes. Lalo - Who? Rubbra - Who? Dohnanyi - Who? Martin - Who? Delius - Yes. A lot of 'who'?
-
Date: Tue, Dec 13 2011 01:52:07
albert roussel - symphony no. 3 French composer, his music is typically aggressive and he can be considered a neoclassisist, he sometimes dabbled in atonality and uses dissonance profusely, as exemplified in his piano concerto. http://www.filesonic.com/file/4191613544/1930%20-%20Symphony%20No.%203%20in%20G%20minor.rar this is probably his best symphony

@iColor, yep got it. uploading tmr. in the meantime, everybody check out this gem by William Alwyn. You may have heard it before, it's somewhat famous. http://www.filesonic.com/file/4205297284/1954%20-%20Concerto%20for%20harp%20and%20string%20orchestra,%20Lyra%20Angelica.rar The harp concerto, "Lyra Angelica", is the masterpiece of english composer William Alwyn. The 3rd movement is just awesome. Up next I might upload a delightful piano concerto by Alwyn's wife, Doreen Carwithen.

@iColor I've uploaded Kabalevsky's violin concerto and his piano concerto no.4. Kabalevsky is mostly famous for composing works that are accessible for children to play. Instead of making "simplifications" of real works, he creates dedicated works that are cool enough to be played in a recital and easy enough that anybody can learn it. Benjamin Britten is another one who made a piece like that called "The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra". His piano concerto no. 4 is my favorite of his, it starts sounding like Prokofiev but eases up pretty nicely in a jazzy way in the final movement. http://www.filesonic.com/file/4237687794/Dmitri%20Kabalevsky.rar
