The Vault / Allowing access to ps-addicts

We're thinking of opening access to the Vault to PS-addicts, like it used to be in UPSB2 what do you think?

Seems like a good idea to me.

I disagree... while most of the PS addicts have 300+ useful posts about the subject of the thread... though there's bound to be some PS addicts with 300+ posts of "that was a good collab", "lol", one line posts with no punctuation or just generally constantly unhelpful posts... Those are the types of PS addicts id be feeling uneasy about. Sure there will be more activity in The Vault but at the cost of the usefulness of said activity. I'm happy for the mods to pick and choose from PS addicts (or even non-ps addicts) that deserve access and would treat it well but any PS addict could be a bit problematic.

well anybody who cause trouble in the vault could be banned from its access

We're going to add some benefits probably, like inside the vault the no-warez-rule will be lifted (you can post download links to music/movies/whatever) and maybe some other stuff As it is, there's really no reason to post in here, so we're trying to come up with stuff you can ONLY do here, so that people use it If anyone has suggestions let us know

Cool, that's my only concern covered. I mean as long as we're actively looking out for any misuse of The Vault and taking some action when it comes up then Ive got no other reason to actively disagree with the idea

I think picking and choosing people to view the vault is a good idea, but from what I'm seeing, there isnt much activity. Later intervention may be necessary.

    Application only, like RD?

I say it should be nomination-only Members in the vault can nominate new members

i agree with strat. nomination sounds best just to keep it straight and not have a bunch of random ppl.

How would nominations work? On what merit are you judging new "vault" members?

Public voting. If the public want them, they are in.

So if there is a spammer who knows someone here whom then nominates the spammer, and the spammer is popular enough to be voted, then you've just introduced a spammer into the vault.

If you had PS addict on a previous UPSB, you can get it back here.

Could be a premium member. You don't have to pick a color as premium and you get all the benefits of ps-addict with it as well without needing the post count.

ppl from UPSB3 who were ps-addicts get their ps-addict back but not post count

Nominations? as in if the people who are ps-addict have posted 300 "i like it" or very helpful post?!~

  29. strat1227
    Date: Thu, Dec 8 2011 18:21:33

No, meaning people who aren't PS-Addicts or Premium can be added by someone in here nominating them then the group voting on it
