Off-topic / Height vs. Hand To Hand Length

So, I've been thinking of the accuracy of one's height compared to the length of his arms from fingertip to fingertip. Bear Grylls can estimate a certain length of rope just by measuring it that way. So, would you guys please do the same? Just measure your height if it's been a while since you've done so, and then hold one end of a measuring tape and stretch out both arms to either side and grip the tape with the other hand. I'm interested to see the accuracy of this method of measurement. You don't have to state your height exactly if, for some reason, you don't want to :D You can just state something like: my height is longer than fingertip to fingertip by 1cm.' Feel free to use cm or inches. I'll do it as soon as I get hold of a measuring tape. Thanks so much :) EDIT: Added a poll for easier analysis. Hope the units are accurate.

It's pretty common knowledge to use that method.
