You're not the only one. There are tons of spinners (with higher trading reputations) in California with access to those shops. @RdHg: Daiso, Maido, Kinokuniya are the major ones. There are also various stores that sell Korean stationary and (Chinese) stationary. @Penwish: Mitsuwa doesn't really sell pens. There are Daiso's in Washington (off the top of my head). There is a Kinokuniya in Seattle (I think) and New York. @Wave length: There is a shop in Richmond in a plaza with a restaurant naimed "Daimo". In the South Bay, there are multiple Daisos. There are also a few Daisos sprinkled around the Peninsula and East Bay. There is a Kinokuniya and a Maido in San Jose (very close to each other). There is a Kinokuniya/Maido combo in JapanTown in San Francisco.

there's really nothing in the midwest. Best bet is Mitsuwa in schaumberg, IL or chinatown in chicago. Othere than that the whole middle of the usa is a pen wasteland

If you live in SF, there's a Daiso and Kinokuniya in Japantown. The Daiso is disappointing though, while the pens in Kinokuniya are overpriced. :/

There is a Daiso (well, it was one until it changed its name to Marukai Living- it probably has the same items as Daiso, though) in San Diego. -

They also had probably every color of tombow abt and 50 packs of supertips!

I can quite a few comssa caps and would like to make a mod like the Busta CYL, Reader Mod, Waterfall Mod, or Morror Mod. There's always one pen or part I can't buy in the US. Ideas?
-
Date: Tue, Apr 9 2013 23:15:01
It can be very hard to find the parts for the mods you are looking for because the U.S. doesn't manufacture them domestically. There a few asian stores that import some of the pens need to create the mods you listed above. I highly recommend ordering from PenWish : http://penwish.com/ PenWish's selection caters to pen spinners specifically and is a safe and professional site to order from. As for stores in the U.S. , you may also want to check out the following shops; Kinokuniya http://www.kinokuniya.com/us/index.php/fho003 Daiso http://www.daiso-sangyo.co.jp/shop/index.php?prc=overseas&sid=1

you could make a fake waterfall/ bonkura kt, or an anyball retractable x mod, which all of the parts can be found in the US -

try diaso. there should be a few in SD. best bet is Japantown. you might find some pens browsing through stationary stores there. maybe Mitsuwa might have some pens but the one in san jose didnt have anything really useful. -

Kinokuniya has a decent selection of japanese pens. There's one in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles (above the Marukai). -

pretty much any japanese pen shop will have some finds but NYC and cali/seattle are the best bet
