i've always wonder which is more essential Linkages or Finishers. Are combos with a bunch of finishers and simple linkage better than a combo with complex linkages but only have two or three finishers? and vice-versa? Personally I rather know better linkages than finishers(too bad I dont), but what do you think? p.s by finishers I just mean "flashy" moves.

I think it totally what style you what or looking for Linkages is more of Korean Style And Finishers are more of and Thai Style

If there is a simple finisher and complex linkages I would favour the combo over a huge redundant finisher and sub par linkages.

yeah...the best is a combo with great linkages and great finishers...? i guess you have to equalize it,like,Linkages=finishers

a really good linkage should be awesome enough to be a finisher anyway

Having nice linkages pretty much sums up the whole combo into being flashy. I personally think that finishers are not as essential as linkages in a combo. If you think about it, you should have a nice linkage in order to execute a nice finisher.

If your linkage is good enough, then it's flashy to pro eyes. But yet,if you do when you do finishers flashy enough, most of people dont see the diffrence. So,generally linkage>finishers

I think Linkages are as important as finishers.

it depends if you want to have your climax between your combo or at your finisher, well imo

Finishers finishers... I'm sick of spam combos with all the focus on the end. =/

Linkages= spans about 14/15 of an average 15-30 second combo (in MOST cases) . Finisher= you guessed it, spans 1/15 of an average combo. Better to have an awesome 14/15s of a combo rather than having that last 1/15 be awesome and the other 14/15 be crap.

To me, it'll be like 1/3 linkage, 2/3 finisher, because a good finisher tends to give a 'wow' effect in the end.(As long as the editor has any sense, by not putting the finisher on the transition to another slide or so) And I rather get a 'wow' feeling at the end, suddenly impressed rather than feel an anticlimax at the end, something like, 'what? it ended already?' feeling.

I find linkages to be pretty important and you should be focusing on them a good deal more than the finishers. That being said, I also think that finishers are not quite as serious of a need as linkages, it's more something that you should just experiment and have fun with. I mean it's more of an experimental thing to add finishing touches to the combo apposed to it being a key factor that directly contributes to the look of the combo. For example, Freeman does a lot of this where he uses experimental finishes, might want to check him out.

I think linkages are more important because it shows you've worked hard on coming up with linkages
