I suggest that you reduce the minimum judges to 3 considering the low number of participants, that it's a beginners tournament and the fact that judges are quite scarce on UPSB... I wonder why no one ever uses the tournaments and ladder subsection anymore...

Yeah the 1st round will be a bit disappointing 'cuz not all ppl are gonna submit xD This is quite obvious these days xD *raise hands* am I able to be a judge xD I'm over a year now and are quite free for this month xD EDIT : UGH UGH just read the "2 year or more experience" .... OK nvm :) (but hey if you need a "not experienced enough" judge then I still can do it)

@Riley since im kinda despo for judges i must know if you will be responsible and hand in judging on time,wont be biased and able to judge "correctly" as in not by just looking at how the combo looks but actually looking a bit more in depth at the links and creativity. please do not say yes just for the sake of being a judge.

Well the rules say that "Code must be prominently displayed in video", and I can see that it was quite prominent in the vid xDDDD I can accept this, but you should ask other judges as well @mapjay And to make it clearer, edit the 1st post with "Code must be written on a paper/board/screen/.... and prominently displayed till the end of the combo" :boing:

It's a beginner's tournament =.= I did my job and uploaded a COMPLETE playlist. dont hate on mama, he sent his vid long ago. @Elune ^ you guys need to scroll up, download the judge sheet i uploaded on mediafire and complete the judge sheet. IT'S THAT SIMPLE. I want you guys to send me your judging scores via mediafire NO LATER than this Sunday. I will average all the scores and post the winners that same day. Then mapjay will update the brackets...it is a simple process. Sorry for all the confusion. it seems that we're all lacking a little common sense, even me.

One slip up or stumble may cost you the battle, no matter how small.*** I also appreciate how you kept the flow of the combo in an overall smooth fashion, reminded me of supawit at one point...However, I was depressed at how simple the finisher was. I felt as if that finisher did not suffice and did not keep up with the flow of the combo. The TA at the end was kinda weird too. This combo shows great potential, keep practicing. [B]mama[/B]: This combo was my favorite of the semi-finals. mama had a more than decent setup/presentation/angle which automatically caught my attention. His choice of pen mod had a color scheme that provided an eye-catching contrast between the mod itself and the background. Moving on to the spinning itself, I thought that this combo was quite superbly executed and performed. The linkages were of medium difficulty, but were linked in the combo so profoundly well. It is most apparent that mama planned and executed this combo to the best of his ability. *Note: the rex tricks were savory :D The finisher wrapped up the combo really well. All-in-all; a pretty standard combo. [B]To Everyone[/B]: The main issue with your combos and with most beginners' , is that you do not make an effort to make your fingers look as stylish as the linkages you are doing. This doesnt mean you have to grow out nails and maneuver your fingers like some LPSA reject. All i am trying to communicate with is the idea that you need to not only execute your combos with smoothness and control, but also construct them in a way that amplifies the style of your spinning. The ambiguous concept is style. Everyone has style, but not everyone finds a style that suits them the best. All spinners must seek out a style or method of executing tricks and linkages in order to complement your spinning as a whole.

Sorry, I'll post them now. @Doufu Nice spinning, the one thing I would say is to make your spinning look more effortless. You don't want people to say "Wow that looked hard", because that means that you didn't make something hard look easy for you to do. That's just my view of it. Also, you could smooth your combo out a little more, like at 12-13 secs. Otherwise, nice difficulty. Also a bit too much tw. sonic.

Doufu: 3rd place Comments: I’m really enjoying your smooth, effortless style, along with your great control. Nice creativity @ 17-18 seconds. Your difficulty is about average though, but everything else is pretty nice! Mama: 2nd place Your difficulty and linkages are pretty awesome! One problem was your ender, I think you should’ve planned how many busts you were going to do, because it looks like you messed up there. Your control of the pen is a bit off; your hand moves a lot which is unappealing, unless you definitely somehow tell the audience that you purposefully did that. Pixels: 1st place Your style, smoothness, and epic transfers blew me away! They were really appealing and eye catching, but also, they were difficult technical wise. The only slight problem was your angle, you had a few off cams; just zoom out a tad. Other than that, congrats! To everyone: Honestly this was a super hard battle to judge, 2nd and 3rd place were REALLY close in my opinion. I almost did a tie. All of you need to think outside of the box in terms of linkages. Make your combos look like WT combos from a random viewer. You’re all way better than me! Great job, I had a fun time judging you all. Congratulations to all of you.

1st Place Doufu 2nd Place Mama 3rd Place Pixels Pixels: A very nice combo, however, i felt as if you didn't exert very much effort to create a combo for this round. It was sloppy at some points, but in actuality, a lot of the elements in the combo were actually pretty interesting. What made you lose my vote was the lack of difficulty and execution. Even though this combo did not impress me at all, the fact still remains: you are a great beginner and have loads of potential, keep at it and you'll be pro in no time :) Mama: You had a decent combo also, but there were some serious presentation issues that made me cringe when watching your video. You went off cam several times. Although this is minor, it makes the judge think video about the combo as a whole. As for the combo itself, it was actually really great--loads of difficult links and tricks. Execution was also decent. However, you make no effort to perform the tricks with "style" or control. Your fingers aren't extended out; this lowers the overall appeal of the combo. Nevertheless, you have proven (along with the other 2 contestants) that your ability to spins pens surpasses that of the majority of UPSB. Be proud. Doufu: I felt as if your combo was the most solid out of the 3 finalists. It may have lacked in style,variety, and difficulty; but it had a certain smoothness and conciseness to it that won me over. Just like the other two, you have potential, but you need to work on it. Keep spinning. This is just the beginning. -
