What do you hate about modding? Discuss here What i hate about modding is taking the grips off of some pens, its so bloody hard and takes ages. I also hate cutting barrels as i dont have a saw, i use a knife and it takes ages, and pretty much messes up the pen.

barrel cutting... even if i have the saw, messes up the workbench with barrel shreds >.>, screwing up pen mods, tape cutting, and a lot more i cant think of for now.

Well yesterday I was hollowing out a Comssa cap with an X-acto knife when the knife slipped and ran through the cap and part of my thumb. :(

I hate it when I have to waste a new, perfectly good pen just to harvest a tiny plastic stub from it. I feel really guilty when doing this, that's why I try to minimize the cost as much as possible for all my mods.

Whenever i have an rsvp cap for something like a sunburst or colors (an rsvp that i only have one of) the i break the cap trying to drill a hole in it, ruins my day.

I hate taking off grips that are hard to take off like a g2, cutting hard barrells like a g2, or getting crooked grip cuts like dr. grip grips. I also hate it when some R.S.V.P. caps are too loose so they fly off when you're spinning or get loose.

cutting the barrels as well as sanding. I hate it when i mod then post it on SHOW OFF YOUR PENS and people comment how "bad" it is by judging the look of it. The thread is called SHOW OFF YOUR PENS not SHOW OFF YOUR GOOD LOOKING PENS OR YOU'LL GET FLAMED. People still can't get it right.

1. I hate cutting simple rings off a flat grip like Signo Broad. Never gets perfectly straight. It's even harder, than cutting a motive -.- 2. Finishing a mod. All the fun ends :'(

I just had this BIG ASS wound. The excess skin on the joint of my pinky got peeled of. Like real deap. And a gashing wound on my ring finger. The excess skin that was peeled was reattached and i got tetanus D:

Barrel cuts and minuscule mistakes e.g. uneven grip cut, tape cuts a little off, etc. Let's just say, I have certain OCD issues when it comes to modding....that's why I don't like modding. Seeing mods made by TEK and Nacho makes me so jelly. T_T

I hated trying to cut the bottom nub to make the hole which the inktube tip goes through for my RSVP mod. It was a pain in the ass and took well over an hour and a half. FOR A HOLE! That sounds so ludicrous now that I think about it. ><

I hate cutting grips, Dr. Grip ones are the word because of their thickness it's hard to get the cut strait. I also hate sanding things down because they are too small for a saw like RSVP back plugs for Twistable MX.

Drilling holes in MXs is pretty okay, but I hate cutting barrels and removing clips. It's a lot of trouble, even with the saw (not to mention a lot of mess). Grip cuts are pretty annoying too, mine are unpredictable.

omfg i like wanna freeze the time when that happens i get so angry sometimes especially how i kinda have anger issues my parents like flippin bug me to go work study or go do chores and by the time i do whatever the crap they said indont even feel like modding anymore especially when im modding complex stuff it seems to me the only way to avoid this problem is to mod when parents are asleep! that usually the most relaxing time to mod or maybe at night when you know everything is going calm and not bug the living crap outta you

I hate it when ur cutting a grip and it's not straight you keep cutting so its straight and then u end up losing the whole grip. I also hate it when the pen ur modding (eg. ur making a personal mod) doesn't have the cog gravity in the cop THATS SO ANNOYING. and lastly I hate it when ur using tape and stuff like that and the sticky part gets oily and covers the whole pen making it sticky and hard to do tricks such as topspin tricks =.='

What kind of knife? If it's a penknife which is sturdy enough, just cut a slit until it fully penetrates the inner wall of one side of the barrel. From there, use a hammer and lightly hammer the knife blade like a nail. It should go thru fairly easily. As for the grips, use a small screw driver and push it in between the grip and the plastic. From there, use the screw driver like a lever and carefully expand the grip a little then slide the screw driver around the circumference of the pen. Hope this helps! -

UNLESS there's electrical tape (not cellophane or other kinds of tape) holding tips together, use [B]Guitrum's inktube method[/B] to remedy that. It's makes putting grips so much easier. -

The prices of pens and pen parts. I don't mind investing some work, but I don't want TOO much work for a mod, but all the good modding pens cost more, if only everything were free... Also, grip cutting can be somewhat enjoyable, until you either screw up a grip cut which results in a wasted grip, or when you slice into a finger like I did just yesterday AND I ruinned the grip I was trying to cut... hooray.
