there are tons of sites that sell LEDs but i'm not at all sure if any of them are safe if i were you i would try to find them locally

Radioshack or any small electronics repair shop. All you need is some LED's or LED circuit PCB, few transistors, and hearing aid batteries (stackable and compact). That's the easy part, the hard part is figuring out the toggle switch. Another alternative is buying an LED board via fletch.

get them from electronics shops, know what you need so you can get the correct parts and sizes to build your circuit

how would i know... but i dont really trust china stuff, their stuff are cheap and bad quality, just go to your local electronics store -

I look forward to some LED mods. How about you make a mod with water inside? Maybe at the caps. It could have food colouring to make it look different too..

I agree, I really am looking forward to someone making a tutorial or somthing on led mods. I saw the firefly led mod and thats why I started spinning. A great visual appeal. Does anyone know of any tutorials already made for led mods for complete electronic noobs?

most of the stuff you get will be made in China regardless. And no Radioshack. Overall quality is OK, just not for that price. -
