So I just took another video of myself spinning. And I'm sick of using my laptop's webcam. Any good cameras out there, preferably a Canon or a webcam that won't really cost much?

To be quite honest it's not the quality of the camera (Resolution, price etc) It's the frame rate it can manage. In general, webcams have a lower frame rate than normal picture cameras and picture cameras have a lower frame rate than video cameras. So if you want to do a lot of stuff slowed down (less blur) look for a device with a high frame rate, preferably a video camera.

Hi everyone. I'm currently using a Canon Powershot s400 that my parents bought a couple years ago. Battery life is horrid and the video quality isn't what I'd like it to be. Picture quality is okay. I just wanted some suggestions for a new camera around $200-300ish that has good picture and especially good video quality and good battery life. (Preferably a point and shoot camera) Thanks

Canon Rebel T3i Canon Rebel T2i Nikon 50D Nikon 60D iPhone 2g • This is actually by FAR the best camera Ive had. Im not even trolling, Im completely serious. While it cant take videos, I find the picture EXTREMELY clear and crisp for what it is. Of course, its a fucking phone camera, and not a point and shoot. Its what Ive been using for pictures in SOYP. My mom has a first gen Exilim, and its pretty good for such an old camera. Of course it takes pictures in 4:3 and not 16:9, but its still pretty crisp. However..if you recall my picture of the extended 133tmx, that is actually with a point and shoot. That camera shoots pictures in such quality, you can probably see all the hair follicles on my penis from 20 feet away. I dont know th e PARTICULAR name of it, Bt I remember it bening a Canon Powershot. Good luck with your search of a camera

i use a Canon Powershot A540. its aright. i normally record in standard which is not that good but if u record in fast frame rate its a lot better and clearer. however u cant record as long in fast frame rate. something like 6 minutes. where standard is 11. and compact is like 54. but the quality of compact sucks.

I had a Canon Powershot for a while, and the video did suck quite badly. I've since upgraded to a Sony CyberShot, and I gotta say that I like the video and picture quality. Granted, the lighting has to be pretty good for the video to have good FPS, but other than that, it's totally worth the $170 I paid for it. It takes pics at 14.1 megapixels, and I think video is at 60 FPS. You can get that, or a higher end Nikon or Canon will do well too. Just from personal experience, I love my little blue Sony.

Hmm I just recorded something at 30 fps and it looks pretty clean. I do like the quality of your vids too. How is the battery life on the camera? Naw, I have the DSC-330W. This one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00328HR5S/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=1278548962&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B00328HR4Y&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=18PFJCC63K2BKNMDK34D For pen spinning reference, the camera took the video in the bottom right corner. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xj1HL5CUjNE And for FPS reference, I filmed this video with the same camera http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMvytUf5wTE Sped it up x7 in Vegas, idk what it was exactly, it was the fastest I could go xD As far as battery life is concerned, taking pics is no problem. Can probably last you 4 or 5 days on a trip taking pics everyday, I'd guess. For video though, it drains pretty fast lol. I think only 40 minutes of video on a full charge? It used to be more, I use this camera quite a bit. But then again, I think you can always buy a spare battery and switch them out.

Yeah battery life isn't a problem if I can recharge it while I film. @Sankaku I think Ima just go with the version I posted. Hopefully the battery life is better than what I have right now. EDIT: eh I'm looking at some reviews saying below average battery life >_<

Lol battery life is a tough one, just get a spare if you're worried about that kinda stuff. And I got my camera over a year ago, and it was a couple years old already back then, so of course things are better now :P

Hmm that's a good idea. That way you can charge while filming and switch out batteries. Alright thanks ^^. Apparently this camera I've been borrowing from my friend is $600 new but like $100-200 used ._. A Canon Powershot SD850 IS. I don't know if it's really worth the money though. I would appreciate it if someone told me. Edit: It's 4 years old ._. wtf $800 on Amazon...

I use two. Canon Powershot A3100 IS - 12.1 Megapixels. Good camara, picks up everything I do with no sign of choppiness. iPod Touch - Lol it's not the best but it records and gets the job done. Still a lot better quality than some other videos out there.

i'm pretty sure at that wide an angle, it would distort everything and the pen spinning would be almost indistinguishable.
