Regular Pen Discussion / Fancy mechanical pencils, plain drafting pencils, or leadholders?

Which one do you prefer to write with? I personally hate grips on a pen/pencil, so fancy mechanical pencils like Dr. Grip is totally out of my way. I own a vintage Staedtler 782C leadholder made in the '60s, and I just love the direct response without any interferrence of grips under my finger. I also have a number of drafting mechanical pencils, and they feel really nice without all those dingling-dancy functions interferring with the control. Though I can't get as much variance in stroke thickness with these than with lead holders, as the lead breaks if I try to make darker lines with heavier strokes. Though I still love both of them for the genuine, no frills feel. Which of these do you prefer to write with? Or you like wooden pencils better? @PenwisH

If using a mechanical pencil, I use a Pilot 2020. The grip is very comfy with a nice feeling. I just use any normal pencil if they are wooden, usually Ticonderoga for their great eraser.

Staedtler 925-25 is my love <3 For school use though, i use a G-spec and an alpha-gel. When i don;t use those i use a Pentel Tradio.

IDEALLY, i would always have a dr. grip shaker to write with and stuff at school, but the temptation of its parts is too much -.-'

I mostly use only pens. on occassions when my pens run out of ink I use a regular wooden pencil from PaperMate, Mirado classic. I might be picky but those are the best wooden pencils ever. Or if not I use an Apex PaperMate Mechanical pencil.

I like using my Zebra m-301. Its light and easy to use. Also, I like using my Dr. Grip. Good fat grip for when im feeling lazy and dont want to grip a really thin pencil.

I bought a Dr. Grip for examining and research purposes, but ended up using it. Way too nice to stay away from :) And Pilot ink pens are just yummy.

Right, like it's much less nerdy to be collecting and reviewing normal pencils and having a brand loyalty debate about pencil manufacturers
