My desk is wood with a glossy finish on it, it was like 5 dollars and I have like 5 coats, it wont' deteriorate and if it does I have some left over to coat it again plus I use a huge area for my mouse not one little 8x8 square, it'd be annoying as hell to move it around

I wish I had a huge area to use my mouse Years of desk too cluttered -> increase sensitivity has left me using an area slightly bigger than my mouse -

@strat1227uh i think you're a little crazy, mousepads create a more consistent feel and it reduces friction a bit so mouse sweeps and the such are more accurate, not to mention it feels better :3 -

I have a glossy desk it does everything you said, plus it's not 8"x8" so I can actually move it around lol you keep mentioning some member named strat haha

@strat1227 uh i think you're a liar now, you said your desk is wood. i have a glossy wooden desk too but it in no way matches the smoothness you get with a mouse pad. heck i'm considering getting a mouse mat cuz it's better.

what i meant is that by saying that if it's wood is the same as saying it sucks. there's pretty much no comparison to a mousepad

I use a SteelSeries QcK+. The reason for this is that my chair does not have arm rests, so most of my forearm is lying on the table. So I like my cloth mousepad because it's a comfy resting place for my arm. I actually only use about a quarter of my pad for mouse movement. I am contemplating buying a XtracPad Ripper XXL because it's roughly double the width my of mousepad now which would provide my left arm with that comfy cloth as well, only think kinda holding me back is me eating and spilling shit on the area between my arms because that's where I put my drinks and food.

Also if your desk is like mine which is a rough plastic surface then moving around isn't as smooth. The mouse performs better with a mousepad in my case. w00t
