Sony vegas is pretty simple but if you want really simple just use windows movie maker but it kinda sucks -

Hey does anyone know of any movie editing software that can support MP4 files..? I really need help because my cam records videos in MP4 and i cant edit them. If not, does anyone know of a good converter to convert MP4 files to other formats? I tried one and all the quality was lost.

Try http://www.xilisoft.com/. I'm not to sure about quality as I mainly convert to DPG which has pretty bad quality in the first place. -

It really is a shame that Vegas can't read m4v encoding. The best thing to do is to use vdownloader and convert to .avi -

stereoscopic 3d editing is the ability to edit '3D' film right? they are really taking this gimick the whole way aren't they 3d camera hardware is super-crazy expensive, and to me, i dont see any additional benefits in seeing footage in 3d thats my rant for the day but the other features look nice

sony vegas is the best. i got pro 9 and it works just fine =D also, for intros, use Adobe After Affects, it makes sweet effects and stuff like that... recommend for all :)

Most good softwares aren't free. Some of them are quite cheap though. I think the Pinnacle Studio Plusis around 30 bucks

tbh, i think all (except premier) are shit you can make on-par material on wmm, if you know what you are doing hell, you can make decent titles and whatnot, if you have a firm understanding of what you are doing particle effects are quite over-rated. just get the clips flowing smoothely, the music right, and a nice font for the text (and format it nicely) and it'll be quite fine premier, vegas, avid, final cut (in acending order) will be the best to use if you are willing to pay *cough*crack*cough*, vegas being the most popular *cough*mostcracksavailable*cough* i advocate decently using wmm, rather than shittily using vegas anyday you can argue my opinion, or disregard them, but this is what i believe -

I agree with K-ryder. The thing is when I used some of those softwares once (especially pinncale), I thought they were a good tool to teach people who are totally new to editing on how so when they use vegas, final cut and whatever better softwares. Wmm is horrible in my opinion.

Every free program I have tried is lacking some features that you can get from the other free programs. In other words they each individually have little different things that you can do but none of them have the whole package. I seriously suggest you get Vegas and start learning with that. Unless you're only looking to use the software one time. But if you really want to get into the sexy super pro editing either Vegas, After Effects, or some other high end software, or even a combination, will get you there.

IIRC, Final Cut Pro and AE are industry standards. If you really want to edit "well", you're going to have to splurge or go illegal.

I use AE for more professional collabs. Sony Vegas for quick/easy editing. Also, it's easier to sync video with music since you can preview it with sound easier and faster. WMM just to crop combos.

What do you mean? He used Logitech , same as me. It's pretty straightforward but you can't really edit that much on the software
