Hey guys, I'm writing an article on pen spinning, and I would like some quotes from pen spinners about why they believe pen spinning should be considered or why they consider pen spinning is a sport (if it is truly your belief.) If you guys could reply with some good responses that would be AWESOME. Thanks.

All I can think of is that it uses hand-eye coordination and finger flexibility. It is done competitively all over the world too, including the World Tournament/Cup.

From dictionary.com - an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature You can also argue that it involves physical exertion.

It keeps your fingers healthy (i guess, idk) and can be done competitively.

It isn't a sport. It is a hobby. There we go.

More of an (optionally) competitive hobby.

I fancy Pen spinning more of an art form than a sport. But that's just me. Tournaments and competitions are all well and good, but by definition, Pen spinning is the manipulation of the pen in an aesthetically pleasing fashion. Nowhere in the definition does it say anything about competition. That's why i see it as an art before a sport.

I started psing because I thought it was beautiful. The only physical thing it does for you is that it's good for your fingers. Penspinning is a talent, a skill or an art.

I did it because i thought it was awesome but more because I saw it as a challenge and a way to keep me entertained

Penspinning is a manipulative art, like Sport Stacking. Penspinning isn't any less of a sport that SPORT Stacking is.

Wrong, in Sport Stacking there is a clear winner, time is kept, much like cubing. In penspinning there is never a clear winner. -

just depends on your definition of sport, no big deal if someone defines sport differently
