Presentation / Why do spinners always play techno music during videos?

Why do they? Why not rock and roll or rap? I hate rap, but I know some people like it, so why dont people use it?

techno fits penspinning, try making a video with like a rock song and the rock song seems out of place (for the most part some songs will work) you just kinda get a feeling for these things

idk, personally i feel lyrics becomes in the way of the spinning, unless you use it like ponkotu who matches the lyrics with the spinning like in Penspinning Promo 13 and 27 (i think it was them)

lyrics just take away from the character of pen spinning (especially rap). instrumental versions of rock songs would work.

fuck that i think techno is getting cliche for spinning. it does goes well, but so would other genres, youd just need to rock a diff style, techno is good for the hyperactive spinning of today... itd be nice if they at least threw in some dubstep!! oh baby

its not just techno. any music that has a great bass/rhythm/beat is good. Most pop music fits well, but probably not rap. Rap is about sex most the time (drugs and violence otherwise) you don't want a rapper talking about how he's gonna do a girl while you're penspinning. Rock, well, its too hardcore to fit psing imo......... (my mentions about rap are AMERICAN ok?)

First of all, they don't always. As to why the majority do, it tends to fit the fast paced nature of spinning, techno is often uplifting and with simple catchy melodies this helps drive the video forward without detracting from the spinning. Also, maybe it's the music the spinner primarily listens too, so he's spinning to it because he likes the song.... :]

Penspinning is really hi-energy, very fast and spinny and flashy. Electronic music just fits. Rap is too laid-back, I think. Just a guess, but it makes sense =)

Techno brings out the quick spinning pace most of time. T here's some dubstep songs that are pretty awesome too since they slow down at parts. It's difficult sometimes since it's really quick paced. I spin to anime music, jpop/rock. It seems more fitting.

Most lyrics don't really go well with the spinning, so spinners use techno songs mostly. But it's not always techno. Sometimes it's Trance or Pop (not really ^^). But I listen to Japanese songs, and I use it sometimes. Or K-Pop, or techno, or whatever...

Techno, metal, classic, jazz.....Doesn't have part what ur style of penspinning is? I mean, look to Gisele 8, he got alot of techno in his video's. But look to his style, it is related @ the beat. personly I think classic music works very good with penspinning, while I usualy spin with metal.

i feel concerned :D yeah i'm clearly one of the main roughly-called "techno" user in my videos and bpsc videos... ofc that's what i listen, that's why i live and i don't choose musics for my spin, i choose a spin for my musics haha btw, techno beats (lets say like 140bpm) fits the standard spinning speed theres no often lyrics so it's quite neutral and do not distract for the main point: the spin techno songs also have an easy-to-edit structure, for collabs => good intro length , highlights, catchy melodies and outro rock get pwnd by youtube copyrights... classic may be too complex to spin to... jazz dubstep and so have too slow beat i think mm

I feel people use techno because of the beat. It's easier to keep beat I think if one spins to techno than say some classical music. I use it because I like spinning to songs without words or with very few words. In a case where I feel like listening to something more like rock, I usually either don't keep spinning long or listening to music long. Or both as a matter of fact. Techno and psing just complete each other IMO.

I think people use techno for copyright reasons too. Now whenever you put like songs such as Rihanna's, Katy Perry's, Duck Sauce's, Maroon 5's, or by any widely known artist, Youtube always puts a copyright thing onto it and block the sound from a certain country/region or even everywhere. For techno, however, there's no copyright restriction since the techno may not be widely known. If you want to give credit, all you do is just type in the description the name of the techno, the author, and credits go to him/her.

It's not just techno. But the majority of collab songs don't have much lyrics, so the only genres of song that don't have many lyrics are dubstep, trance, electro, dnb, liquid, techno etc.

I have a theory that the reason it is used so often is because its a fad atm. Where as this could be considered an electronic age, electronic music is most accepted at this time. A good example would be how the chance of a dubstep song being played in a tv commercial is very high. I bet that if your in high school now and you go to your reunion later on in life and you watch your class recap video that some kind of electronic music will be playing. And naturally when things become very popular people tend move away from it so Maybe in a few years when a new type of genre of music is created that will be the most popular in ps videos. But you know, it's a theory
