IB alumni reporting in. bwahaha CAS and TOK what about the EE good times. didnt do shit during IB, didnt have to study much or waste time on it. the key to success: time management. you manage your time so that you dont have to waste time. studying/reading during transit is essential the real pain comes at the end when you do the IB exams that cover like 2 years of material. blew through university undergrad with 3.96/4.0 GPA which is nothing in workload compared to IB if you can do IB without breaking a sweat, you're well on your way to acing undergrad. doing IB is therefore not totally useless, its like an overkill way of preparing yourself for undergrad. CAS and TOK is mostly garbage though.

Just asking, is IB more superior than A-levels or is it the other way round? Cuz we don't have AP outside of America.

HAHA Bayview!! I remember we destroyed their soccer team last year. Good times. On topic: I was planning to switch to IB, this year but unfortunately I moved from that place and my current school doesn't have IB or AP nuuuuuuuu

I am a senior in IB, taking my exams in two weeks or so. HL math, physics, and English; SL History, Psychology, and Spanish. I agree 100% with Zombo's post, that pretty much sums it up. Don't fall into the trap of the status quo whinyness of most IB kids at schools you will encounter, going "I have to do all this stuff, wahhhh, look how much HW i have, oh great!" If you don't complain about the workload and just do it, you'll find that somehow you've already done and graduated, done what you thought would be an impossible amount of work, etc. ^ I kinda did that throughout my IB career, it was like a fleeting moment....a dream, like a half-awake one. cool stuff man.

Alright, I took HL: Biology, Chemistry, English (manditory) SL: Math, ITGS, French Not sure where TOK fits though :P Anyways, @Zombo, that yeah basically gives a decent overview of what IB is. At least your lucky though, I still have to work on my EE now >_> Neways, May exams are in 2 weeks, get ready guys ^^

finishing up 1st year of IB. http://www.jwnorth.org/academics/academics_ib_program_splash.html yeah it isn't that hard once you learn how to manage your time (which is difficult). I guess it is really a college preparatory thing. It doesn't actually benefit from it all. SL exams don't count towards college credit and this ToK extended essay I'm doing is a "waste" if that's what you want to call it. Only certain HL exams give you credit. The problem with most IB examines is that there is no possible way to prepare for it other than to study in-class material. Unlike AP, you can't review any official released exams (especially for IB Physics). Almost all American colleges accept AP credit but not IB. So, all-in-all, IB is a good program to participate in, but be wary that there is really no external benefit rather than self improvement. I guess CAS hours are good things to put on your college app. Yeah so AP>IB always , unless you're going to study abroad, then that's a different story. So it's up to personal preference. Tests I'm taking: AP Physics B AP Physics C:Mechanics AP Macroeconomics IB Economics SL APUSH AP Euro AP Calc AB I'm worried about Calc and euro exams ;)
