I've seen people write it as penspinning, but I've seen it as two words. Which one do you think is more correct?

Well, I'm going to go grammer on this one: Pen spinning - The word spinning is an adverb, therefore "spinning the pen". Penspinning - The word itself is a verb, an action of "twirling the pen". Your choice. ^-^

Penspinning/pen spinning is also considered a noun here, though this doesn't really contribute to the thread. I think both are fine, like WhatOfTheUp1 said.

Penspinning, speedcubing etc. Penspinning sounds nicer. Pen spinning is sort of like a 'layman' term.

yea i agree, i think penspinning came from asian spinners who didn't know proper english spelling and grammar, just like how "very want" is used commonly here imo penspinning is just stupid. is it in the dictionary? no. then it shouldn't be used

Pen spinning the spinning here is not an adverb it's a gerund which is a verb ending in ing that takes the form of a noun for example swimming as a noun function. Pen describes spinning making the word pen in this case an attributive/adjective sort of like coffee shop where the noun coffee becomes an attributive describing shop.
