I cannot get my parents to understand psing, and they are severely restricting me. How do you explain to your parents that PSing is not a waste of time/pens? I need HELP

Perhaps get good grades and explain that pen spinning keeps your fingers healthy and dexterous, and could possibly prevent arthritis (idk if that's true or not, just go with it)

penspinning is a waste of time, but if you enjoy it, shouldn't that be enough? I mean technically everything is a waste of time... (unless you know what you're doing with life, but thats really rare)

@FusionX , i also play piano EDIT: Yes i am asian. But we are very rich. (though we don't show it) money nor cheapness is the issue. Its that my parents think that taking apart, good, useful pens to make another is similar to cutting sleeves and such off other clothing to make your own clothing, which is true in some sense. They think that what was previously stated is somewhat immoral? I should talk to hippo2626 about this. He's religious too

you dont... you say you are going to sleep, close the door, then turn a flashlight and spin over your bed. problem solved its not really making ur own clothing... youre not cuttin ur sleeves to make designer clothes. YOu are using good (or bad) pens to make good ones

Penspinning is a waste of time, money, and pens. There's not much you can say about it, all you can say is that it's your hobby and you enjoy doing it in your free time.

Dude, is it a hobby? If it is, then of course it's useless! Hobbies don't have to be something useful; it's something that you like to do on your free time. But since they're too Asian to understand, just be a good boy and get better grades. My parents are the same way. :) I feel for you.

@drgripable i am going through the same thing :( i haven't had any problems involving my religion though.... I spin inside my room closed doors o.o but my dad knows. He was like -___- what are you doing? kind at first but like I showed interest in pen spinning, and i apparently look awfully happy when I am pen spinning. My dad just doesn't care anymore I think....cause he knows that if he is gonna oppose it or whatever I am going to spin inside my room, closed doors. He has now kind of got used to it and is just meh. I have good grades, but they can be much better so every now and then I get a lecture from my mom about how i should concentrate on my studies more. Just like show interest in it and show that it is a part of your life and you can excel at other things while still pen spinning :)

This has been a problem for me when I was beginning, but as far as grades are concerned, there has never been a problem. The problem for me is that I'm quite an introvert, and they saw that I was able to meet new friends not only online but also locally IRL. Also, try trading/selling to earn money and they might appreciate it (just like ellusion67. :P)

To non-spinners, if you have like 10 mods, they'll think you're weird. I have 4 mods and my parents already think it's a waste of time. I guess one way it so challenge them with another question. Maybe, "Why do people watch TV?" or "Why are some musicians unsuccessful but they continue to play?". It's all the same thing. Just because it's fun.

my parents just gave up after about a week. they still dont like it, but they dont openly oppose it anymore. one other factor might be that im not asian. pretty much the only one in this thread. :/ i have like 15 mods and my mom is just like :facepalm:

Just don't pen spin in front of them. I do a ton of pen spinning at school and still manage to get good grades :) I almost never pen spin at home unless I am filming a combo. btw: I'm Asian and my parents yell at me every time they see me spin my pens, they don't mind seeing a bunch of mods everywhere though. lol

Pen spinning is really a waste of time if you look at it from their point of view. I never spin in front of my dad anymore, I dont let him see im on upsb and I dont watch pen spinning vids in front of him. But he still complains about me pen spinning. My brothers hate pen spinning too. You should just try to keep it secret

Im not asian, but im religious. Probably not the same religion as you but I have advice. Just tell them that its a fun hobby that doesnt take up much time or money. Really? How much do pens cost? $8 for a nice Dr. Grip? Its not that expensive of a hobby compared to restoring cars or playing an instrument. And, its better than spending your time doing drugs. Nobody wants to share drugs with a pen spinner. :)

I didnt have to lol they let me do anything as long as its not bad and since I dont ask for much, I just told them I wanted to learn to spin just like i learned to draw and i'm learning to play the piano and they went along with it, after I made a bictory with pens I found around I only asked for a Buster CYL and I'm good with that, not thinking on spending too much on pens yet lol
