Off-topic / webcam records like shit

looks amazing on the screen while im spinning, it's like 60 fps but the saved video file looks like a piece of shit.. it's jarry, grainy, and the entire effect of my spinning is lost by the slideshow of a video it saves what gives? I know it can't be the cam, because looking at what the cam sees on my screen it's obviously top notch quality, but the output files are complete shit Say i take a picture, the quality is horrid. i just screenshot my screen when i want the pic and save it like that because on the screen everything looks great on the screen and i get alot more quality that way. I think I could take a camcorder, record my screen and it would look better than the shit this cam spits out

Plays back at 60FPS, however the recording/encoding is usually only 30 FPS at 640x480 at 1.3MP. Webcams aren't the greatest recording utility.

managed to fix it by setting record size to something like 120 x 160 down from 640 x 480. This didn't seem to have any effect on the actual resolution of the video i saved but the framerate has experienced immense improvement :)

I dont know hot to improve but I think editing software like haduri or other stuff help on Webcams

Webcams fault, cheap hardware inside. A 120x160 video is worthless.

640 should be your minimum.
