Regular Pen Discussion / (Urgent Question) Did I buy the wrong Super Tip?

I just bought a pack of supertips a minutes ago and noticed that the caps are not quite the same shape as what was show in various tutorials. I also found that the body is slightly conical (i.e. it's a bit fatter at the end plug and thinner at the tip). Does the "real" supertips also have this kind of conical barrel? I am thinking of returning them if this one's body is not identical to the popular ones. Thanks, Daniel

It's the new kind. The old ones are the ones in most tutorials, as I believe.

Is there some kind of waveish pattern on the caps? Those are the new new supertips. Also the taper is normal, though the taper on the old supertips is far more noticable.

Yup, the only thing that's different is the caps and the inside of the body. It's not quite as easy to join the body pieces with bic round stic pieces since there are little ridges on the inside but they can be sanded off.

No, they can still be joined if you use the backs of the markers.

um Sorry to bring this thread back..but um.. does the newer version of the ST work with modding various mods..? And is the older version of the ST still easily availible in stores?

@brian685 coulda just posted on general questions yeah newer version still works in the US, the older (not the old, the 2nd generation) is still available.
