hardly depends on the ISP at least here anyway if i were to change ISP: they all use the same cables anyway, so the speeds dont change

the maximum possible in australia via adsl2+ is 24mbps but this is pretty much impossible to achieve at home i get about 9.5mbps i get the readings in my sig at work, which has a fiber connection straight to the exchange which is about 500m away fiber can support up to 100mbps the issue with australia is that we have a maximum usage we have on peak and off peak on peak: 10am - 2am off peak: 2am - 10am (these times vary by provider) if i were to use my 500gb of on peak this month, my speeds would go down to 128kbps during those times until the month is up same goes for off peak 500gb/month is the absolute max u can get in australia, we pay about $100 for this a month... minus $40 for my staff discount plans vary from 500gb down to as low as 5gb (realistically 5gb... though some people are still on 1gb and such) australia is no good for internet the lowest we garantee is 1.5mbps

A lot faster than I thought it would be, but yeah if you want fast speeds, Japan/South Korea is where you want to be. Oh, and comcast loves to bottleneck you <3.
