So I'm planning on getting After Effects and Vegas a little later when I have more time to fiddle around with them. As for now, I need to look into some good but free video editing programs. I've been using Windows Movie Maker 6 for almost all my videos and it's very simple and easy to use but the two things that I think it lacks that I want are: a) more customizable titles b) more customizable settings for videos and transitions between them (e.g. zooming into an area where you designate the size of the captured region of the video instead of just "Zoom into lower left") Just wanted to know if there was anything free that was similar to this or if WMM is the best I can get from being a cheap person. I've actually gone on Google and tried some programs out such as Pinnacle's VideoSpin but again they lack the full bulk of features I really want. Any help would be appreciated. :)

About a year back, maybe 1.5, I was looking for something like this for GPC and I did not find anything worth noting. All free programs I found either lacked user-friendliness or features. I would advise you to jump into Vegas straight, it's super easy to learn and I'll help however I can.

maybe debut? you download it free, you get the premium for 15 days, then you have to chose to buy it or downgrade to the free version.

You're going to find that all completely free video editing software is about on par with WMM.

I'm trying out Camtasia, I'll tell you how it goes. [I, too, used Windows Movie Maker for editing a collab]

Alright which has more features? Camtasia or Vegas? I think I'll just use this keygen method thing but Idk where to go since a lot of the sites are apparently fake? Idk if there is a mother site. It's okay to talk about this kind of stuff via pm right?

Is it newer? Come to think of it the last time I went looking was about 3 years ago. -

I actually remember using it almost 3 years ago.

I tried that too @XYZaki but it doesn't let you string together clips? I think it's only for individual clip editing unless I've missed something

all free video editing programs are shit for collab editing however, its not that much of a hassle to use wmm, as long as you dont get the wmm look (blue bg with white title) you have no need to have a nle program to edit a collab and you can make collabs look professional with wmm. either you stick with wmm because its on par with every other free program out there and learn how to properly edit clips, or get vegas and cake your editing with effects

Alright I cracked the full version of Vegas 9.0. I've got a few questions lol: -Is there a way to make titles where I can control where the text moves and other things like that? Because I've been fiddling around with it for a bit and I can't figure out where to go to do it -How do I create borders and text and other "cool editing stuff" on video clips? I mean I figured out how to make a simple black or colored border around the clip but how do I get custom designs in there as well? Thanks
