Hey guys, I'm trying to save up for a DJing deck; the one i'm looking at is gonna cost me $2,140. My question is, could I make that much if I worked over summer at minimum wage at say, Chickfila? It'd be about 4-5 hours a day or so, for about 3 months. Thanks!

    lrn2math. .-. Make a verbal model. Minimum wage(Hours worked x Days worked) = ? You're working 5 hours a day, and you're working 90 days (30 days in a month). $8.50(5 x 90) = $3825 And $3825 > $2140 How did you not know how to do that -_-.

I think it wouldnt hurt to get a job, but why not save up :| btw 8.50 is pretty high for min wage imo, plus taxes and any other expenses that might occur.

$1,000 check usually come out to be like 800-900 dollars after taxes.

also jobs at chicfila will be part time, no way you'll get 35 hours per week over 12 weeks you can probably make around 1500 dollars also it's VERY VERY dumb to spend that much on your very first deck, you can buy a freaking car for that, buy a cheap one or a used one and use it for a year or so before you're SURE you want to spend that much money

Yeah depending on where you are taxes are a bitch, I get 20% taken out. That's also because I claim 0 though.

I realize its a lot, but im going for a deck that'll last me a while, and one that I won't be replacing in say, a year. So the consensus is that i'd probably make around 1500-1750? I live in Florida, so how much tax would be taken out?

seriously, that's dumb. for stuff like this it's ALWAYS better to buy a "starter" thing first before buying the super expensive professional one

Okay, so after some research, I can get the same set up for about 1.2K refurbished/used. Is it still worth it @strat1227 ?
