Im confused. :S When you do thumbspin, how many revolutions does it make, and how many revollutions does thumbspin 1.5 make? In Pari's tutorial for Kam's 4 loop combo, does he do a thumbspin, or thumbspin 1.5? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoWHwwncr2A

Typically, for the 4 loop combo, it's 1.5, as I believe.

a thumbspin is an x amount revolution. a thumbspin 1.5 is a 1.5 revolution. the number after the word "thumbspin" indicates the amount of revolutions done in the combo. typically, 1.5 revolutions is a thumbspin, but you can always do more. (like 29589346834 if you're really good) kam's 4 loop uses 1.5

Its 1.5 spins total. In a reg. TA, its one revolution, in thumbspin 1.5, you let the pen balance and spin .5 extra on your thumb before catching it. There are multiple methods for doing a thumbspin like sunrise: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbMXdVsbfyY versus s777: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbMXdVsbfyY

When it spins on your thumb and index finger is it still called a thumbspin? Like what s777 does in his 4th year solo.

It's called a thumb index spin since he spun it in those areas. -

As long as it's 1.5 and above it's a thumbspin. The K4LC uses a thumbspin not a thumbaround (the additional 0.5 revs is needed to complete the 4 loops).

ok... experiment with different pens to try to find the one that you can get the most spins out of. next, try watching videos of really big thumbspins (like sunrise in japen 1st). watch what they do and try to copy some of the techniques used to achieve such high amounts. after that, just keep practicing. i find it hard to keep it spinning directly on my thumb, but after enough practice it will get there.
