Is the only difference between a regular airfit and an airfit jell the tip? is the grip still the same for both?

The grips on Ballpoint, Jell and MP are the same, there is no difference. But for the tips they are all different. Heaviest to lightest. MP > Ballpoint > Jell

No. As You can see, there are no green laknocks/lakubo. I'm Fairly sure that Harry12125 has them for trade, PM him if you need them @yurchik, please ask in General Modifications next time, instead of making a new thread, it helps keep the server costs down.

Green lacknocks are going to be a stretch to find. Does anyone in the US know where to get those big 8 packs of profiles? I really want an orange one and those are the only packs I've ever seen them in? Also whats the difference in weight of a sunburst cap and a RSVP cap? @ Nation I'm pretty positive that this is the right place to post it. and how does it help keep server costs down by posting in a different thread. Its still a post ._.

$1.74 if you buy them individually It's like $8.50-$9.50 for a 10 pk

Some questions i have. Please reply... Are m-301's rare? Why do people say that in trade threads? Are the black grips sailor subs? Are they new? They have 18 small rings and 2 larger on each end. They are made by STUDIO. Compared to beifa and sailor BTW. I can only find blue beifas at my dollar store. I don't know what happened to the black ones. T.T

What kind of ink does namae write in? (gel, rollerball, felt...) and Is it true that namae leak when they are spun too much?

13. Kirby
Date: Wed, Jul 7 2010 01:16:37

Felt, write like a thicker comssa. Kinda messy, bad to write with. I've noticed it leaking a little, not horridly bad. But the ink is shitty, I wouldn't keep it in.

So the other day I was modding a supertip i found at school.. it came to my attention that the front (where the tip would be) was different than any supertip I've seen before. Instead of describing I'll just show... My SuperTip: Comparison: (taken from vicgotgame's vicgotgame mod tutorial thread) it doesnt seem like it from the pics, but the part right below the barrel (between the barrel and the tip part) is significantly shorter on mine than other supertips.. basically im asking.. why is mine different? are there two different types of supertips out there? o_O

15. Tetsip

yeah. i remember reading something similar a while back. there are 2 different kinds of super tips.

the one you found is the newer version i think. kt caps can go over the back no problem and the st cap and front are a bit different. with the other version u needa shave the back a bit for kt or ct caps to fit

17. Hippo2626

Hi guys. I have a question. Look! Which one is better KUZU mod or Dr.KT (AC) ? I recently have bought Dr.KT (AC) and I am not satisfied. Mаybe because I was spinning a Vicgotgame mod before

39. takyui
Date: Thu, Sep 2 2010 21:21:52

you can try a kuzu its pretty good well atleast i like it

40. Nachoaddict
Date: Thu, Sep 2 2010 23:47:49

It's personal preference but if you didnt lile the dr. ac, chances are you won't like the kt since they are quite similar. Try out the kuzu like takyui said but dont be surprised uf you arent satisfied with it cuz vic mods are pretty heavy and long in general

41. motorstorm
Date: Mon, Sep 6 2010 04:48:13

And can they both be used for an RSVP MX?

42. Nachoaddict
Date: Mon, Sep 6 2010 04:49:55

The grip and tip length and weight are the same. The only difference between them is the color of the grips, ink, and other parts of the pen. regular HGG's are "regular" colors while HGG metallic colors are metallic versions of the regular colors.

Sakura rsvp MX on Penwish is the same as a regular MX. MX's are backheavy so if you want something balanced, that's probably not the mod you want.

(Usually), Any name in front of "RSVP MX" is just the name of the design. It is still Hybrid Gel Grip-ped, and Hybrid Gel tip-ped ex:
[*]Bonkura RIP MX [*]Sakura MX [*]Tribal MX [*]Red vs. Blue MX [*]Moonz MX
HOWEVER, some vary.
[*]Impact MX [*]MX^2 [*]AMX [*] Guitrum MX [*] Nacho MX
These are different; they contain much more weight, the asthetics are different. They also spin differently, depending on the weights used. To answer your question, metallic comssa is your best bet. An MX^2 (The black and white MX on Penwish) should be balenced.

63. Jamal
Date: Wed, Oct 20 2010 01:13:13

@whizz m&m is sold for so much because they have been out of production for a couple years or so, and are not owned by many people They have a good variety of colors, and the body is the biggest part, with the bunny design on the bodies :p KT and CT and M&M have virtually no difference except color and the body color/design, the caps are practically the same

73. tylt
Date: Wed, Nov 3 2010 08:35:41

@Micheal, You're probably going to be hard pressed to find those types of sharpies nowadays. I presume your making some sort of Sharpie capped DC pen. The only sharpies you can find like that have a plastic clip that your going to have to cut off and also a raised Sharpie logo that can get irritating under grips. You just gotta check it out in your town at any office supply store or stationary store. Its probably gonna be a doozy man I'd just go with V5 or V7 caps man to be honest.

@Nachoaddict I remember you asked me to do some comparison thing for the BIC round stic 2 and I finally got a hold of some so here it is. The RS2 has more colours than the other round stics and some improvements based on these labels Here are some comparison pictures with a round stic grip The stuff on the left are the rs2 parts and the stuff on the right is the round stic grip parts The diameter of the barrel is pretty much the same just that the rs2 has an inner screw on thing and a smaller inner diameter In other words just get the normal one this new round stic is pretty useless unless you're using it to come up with something new.

Anyone saw or have experience with the kind of pens you get from chinese ebay websites such as this : http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=5526952513 ? Seems fairly cheap, but I'm wondering if the grip and tip would be the same (there are other without soccer balls, just type pilot dr grip in search bar and google translate).

106. Nachoaddict
Date: Sat, Jan 15 2011 03:46:35

Yes the grip and tip are the same as the other Jap dr. grips. Basically they just put a sticker on the plastic part under the grip which is the reason you see the soccerball design there

Hi tec c's are somewhat heavier than an hgg they're usually found as g tech c's (or something like that) in North America. If you want to make an mx with one, its a lot easier with sunburst bodies. Edit: if you went through the thread, it says hi tec's are around ~1 gram, maybe 1.1

I don't think they have a name. When I see the pictures on Penwish, the writing on the barrel for the caps says, "ROLLER-TIP PEN 0.5" and "AIHAO". The body doesn't have writing, and it isn't named on Penwish. The grip part, however, is called the "X-Power". Then again, these might be subs. Using Google, the only things that come up are either pictures without description or just plain confusion about which pens are subs and which aren't.

152. Cloud
Date: Mon, Jun 20 2011 20:20:32

thats a week old question but anyways, the only official part is the xpower pen. its the grip. its what makes a tornado a tornado. the body and cap are pretty much generic parts, whatever works. so, grips are hard to come by nowadays. pw doesnt sell anymore black ones.

MM = M&M = Miffy & Melanie Markers. They're discontinued, and very rare now. CT = Pentel ColorTwin Markers. There are a LOT in Hong Kong like what Eruption said. AC = Art Color Markers. Not sure where. KT = Pentel KeiTyo Sign Pen. You can get them in Japan and Hong Kong like what Eruption said. For af grips push a cotton bud in the middle of the spaces in the grip. For the dr grip grip just run it through water and dry it with cloth or cotton. For caps you can clean it by using isopropyl to clean it. There can be this thin line of black ring under the nub of the caps you said which I find very annoying and icky. You can just simply run through it with your nails. Hope that helped.

SC means Single Caped Most popular SC mods use a Pilot G3 body and a Hyperjell or Jimnie Cap. Some examples would be Seven G3, Coulomb G3 and Kuzu G3. Many famous japanese penspinners create an own G3 mod which is why they're so popular. You might want to look up some G3 mods on the wiki and see if there's some you like.

In Germany we use fountain pens to write. looks like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/1d/Fuellfederhalter.jpg/170px-Fuellfederhalter.jpg U can erase the ink of those pens with the white "tip" of a superpirat. When you use the white "tip" u can't write a fountain pen on the same place on the paper. So u need the blue "tip" to write there.

Singapore only has jimnies and antique Hjs. Most SEA countries eg malaysia, thaliand.etc dont have hyperjells. The only sources should be hongkong and china.

there are 3 different types of french (3 diff factories) and 3 diff types of jap dr.grip (3 countries (taiwan, japan, china)). In terms of clarity and softness, they are almost similar but will vary from batch to batch. Mine are slightly longer. pics would not really help too much since all three would kinda look the same.

When you shake a Dr. Grip shaker pencil or whatever one has the shaker mechanism, a small metal weight inside the pencil moves up and down with the motion, and lead comes out. So, instead of pressing the button on top of the pencil to feed out more lead, you just need to shake the pencil. This video sums it all up, basically.

How long should the pen you use be?

284. IAmTheMrGuy
Date: Wed, Mar 6 2013 00:44:05

General rule is that it should stretch from tip of middle finger to mid-wrist. Honestly, unless it affects your presentation, it shouldn't really matter. Spin what feels comfortable. I.suk spins with a pen which is "too large" but his style is excellent

Use your common sense here. Yeah, people who have smaller hands tend to have smaller pens fit them better

290. Ecnunn
Date: Wed, Mar 6 2013 01:40:45

anything works, but i've heard general advice that it should be wrist to top of middle finger, or no more than 1 inch longer. But, anything you feel comfortable with and like is fine.

It all depends on the size of your hand. For example, I spin with a mod that reaches from my pinky to my thumb when my hand is open and my fingers are extended to the max.

Get a VGG mod if you think you'll spin for many years, so that would be a mod you'll never have to throw/give/sell away because it will always fit.

296. ChainBreak
Date: Wed, Mar 6 2013 15:18:44

The rule from tip of middle finger to the wrist is only for dc mods though. For sc mods you can add a couple cm since the spinning area is smaller most of the time. :)

I wouldn't think so. My Bictory ( without metal tips) was 18.3 cm, and I have average sized hands(~19.5 cm). It will fit just fine. Spin what you're comfortable with. Size didn't really really affect me in the long run. Sent from my MK16i using Tapatalk 2

@Mats it's just a general "rule of thumb" as he stated, If you want a name or date you wont find one. It's pretty much accepted though that the general rule is tip of middle finger to wrist. Most people find something ~2 cm longer than this feels the best.

302. Mats

I think it's a terrible rule. Hand size and pen size are totally independent of each other. Longer pens have more momentum and are easier to spin. To follow this rule would be to the detriment of spinners with smaller hands.

I think the reason people say it is both for presentation and for ease of spinning. A really large pen looks terrible when you spin it and be difficult to manage. There are tons of pen mods which have ludicrous momentum but are really short. I mean, like, you could made a bictory with three kt tips on each end and it'll have momentum to the point of being un-spinnable. You're totally right that it can fit each person's hand, but it's still a generally useful rule for picking a size

Spin it over head (like a lasso) Start off with about a 15 second spin (do it longer if you have to). Centrifcal force should cause the liquid inside to re - wet the point with a fresh supply of ink ." Derived from this page. PW dr. grip grips are 5 cm + the lip, meaning pw grips are slightly longer than original dr. grip grips (exactly one lip taller). The lip is the side of the grip that has a small bit of grip overlapping the grip. So where the Dr. GRIP grip's lip ends, is EXACTLY where the PW dr. grip grips starts. On a side note, I prefer original shaker grips since the PW grips attract way too much dust, not saying the original grips don't, they still do, but not as much as PW grips.

Um, you can use G2. LOL. It's pretty much the epitome of gell pens. Cheap and they come in a variety of colors. You could also use HGG which imo is better than G2. They come in all the colors of the rainbow and is capped. You can buy them in bulk. Another pen is the G3 which is pretty much a hybrid of the two. However color choice is limited, as they only appear as some colors. Another one is not really a pen. It's a multi function pen/pencil. The Papermate PhD 3in1 multi pen. This pen(cil) has a grip that was approved for arthiritis.(I think). It also includes a stylus. Anyway if you want some G2s come over to my thread. Search up Zen's Trading Thread Regards Zen

@ChowCow These cheap pencil grips are sold in packs and I believe are made of silicone rubber. They're fantastic for modding (I've used them a lot myself), since they are squishy and offer a wide variety of colors. But silicone grips aren't superior over other types of grips, all grip materials have a potential to form quality grips, not only silicone rubber grips.

every pen has a different feeling to it, or a different visual effect. you may use one pen to flaunt style, but another is easier to do difficult tricks with. compare it to food. maybe there is one type of food that you can eat for every meal and it is also perfectly nutritious. you may just get bored of eating it and want to see what other tastes there are. in the same way, there are many different traits to mods to take into account. just one may get a little boring. of course other people love to mod pens. in that case, there is no such thing as too many pens. lastly, there are simply collectors who love to own as many pens as possible.

Aye waddup everyone, currently, I spin a couple of pens, with a waterfall mod and some comssa parts coming in the mail. The two main pens I spin are a lengthened RSVP MX and a moderately heavy BICTORY about 14-16 grams depending on the grip combination. Now I like how the momentum carries the pen in on my heavier pen, put I don't want to ruin my style, or threaten my health over time. Because of the pressure that my BICTORY puts on my hand (lol its not a light bictory like I said) I feel like I'm lifting weights while I'm doing a continuous Charge or any long trick, the weird thing though, my arm doesn't really get tired, just tight I guess. Note, its not that uncomfortable, I put hella grips on one of my pens and it was 20 grams, and it was a lot worse when trying to combo. And I really don't think its the overall weight of the pen, its where all the weight is located, the very end of my pen, here are some pics: RSVP MX (Lengthened)

Spoiler
BICTORY
Spoiler
The tips on the bictory are 7-8 grams, which is why I think this pen feels like a harder pen to spin than a another 14 g pen. BTW my hands are 19.6 cm so it is the right length for me. So the first cluster of questions, should I not use this mod if it just doesn't feel completly comfortable? And stick to the RSVP (Mine is 14 grams, but way less momentum) until I get my waterfall? Should I not train with the heavier pen at home only, and not hour after hour at school? Second question, when people say not to learn tricks with heavier pens (for beginners) is it because of the momentum? Third question, is the momentum on the waterfall mod strong also? I think that depends on how you arrange the dr. grip grips, closer in or completely covering the signo tips, true? Sorry for this lengthy question and explanation everyone, I have only been pen spinning for 2 weeks, but I train hard xD, guess everyone would if they were that dedicated in the beginning. Thanks!

Spin what you like. I personally don't think a heavy bictory would be comfortable at all, and it would probably be worth it to invest in a better mod in the long run, but it's entirely up to you. You're not gonna ruin your "style" if you start with a heavy mod, nor are you going to go through some kind of hand injury. Those are common misconceptions. How I see it is heavy mods have a bigger margin for error, so doing certain tricks is easier, but heavier mods give you less control over finer details in spinning. Second question, when people say not to learn tricks with heavier pens (for beginners) is it because of the momentum? See above. I think beginners should start medium-heavy, or pen spinning will become so difficult that they'd become discouraged. You can always fine tune your spinning later down the line. Third question, is the momentum on the waterfall mod strong also? I think that depends on how you arrange the dr. grip grips, closer in or completely covering the signo tips, true? I'm assuming you're buying a premade waterfall from penwish. If so, the mod will have a lot of momentum because there's a lot of grip. Cutting down the grips will reduce the momentum.
Note that weight itself means very little. The important thing is momentum. When I say heavy mod, I mean a mod with lots of momentum. When I say light mod, I mean a mod with less momentum.

Thanks very much man, One, I did not buy the premade version so I could construct it myself since I am trying to get an idea of what pens I generally like spinning. Though I think I will cut them to the suggested length. To get into more detail (about positioning the grips) I thought it would work like this. Grips further away from COG= More momentum Grips closer to COG= less momentum Another question I have is: How does this positioning of out weight affect combos? To clarify, when I do a double charge, I'm finished with my fings too far past the COG to do another double charge. Also is this just a technical issue? Thanks again

The positioning of weight will certainly affect how the pen feels when you spin it, but it should not affect tricks or combos directly. How you do a combo or trick is entirely dependent on your own skills, the pen has nothing to do with it. Of course, some things are easier to do with certain pens than others, however it is possible to do everything with anything, so it's better to treat the mod as just a thing of personal preference than something that will improve your spinning directly. For your double charge issue, it probably has nothing to do with the mod but rather you haven't mastered the trick yet.

Pirat body because the caps are stable and remain attached as opposed to comssa body in which the caps detach after a short period of spinning/dropping. Lengthwise, a pirat body is preferred because the comssa body makes the waterfall longer (it's already long lol). Also, pirat body has a soft texture where a comssa body is slippery. The cons for a pirat body is that it may contain sticky residue but I'm sure you could simply erase it off.

Signo Broad and the Signo Dx which is normal signo have a different grip. The grip on the signo broad is smooth and comes in White, Black and Gray. Signo Dx has a textured grip with little craters. Much like the HGG grip. It comes in an array of colors. Lime green, pink. yellow, are the rare ones

Hmm, well i didn't think there were any mods that used them. What he was talking about was confusing, but my mistake.

I think you should get a Waterfall and a Buster. But remember Ktrinh93 recommends to start using a buster after at least 1 year of pen spinning. So keep that in mind when deciding what time in the future you should get your Buster. As for the Waterfall, you could get it now (it said you started in February 2014 on your profile).

I got my waterfall after I knew all the fundamentals and reverses and inverses, shadow and all twisted sonic variations well. Imo you should be able to link them together somewhat decently and only then you should really upgrade your pen which for me was around 6 months in. And I've only recently purchased a buster, and tbh I still use my waterfall more than the buster.

Does anyone know of any pen caps which are like large emboss caps but not ellipsed? So circular at the ends?

Pilot Supergrip vs pilot EasyTouch? Are they exactly the same (same grip)? Found an easytouch at school was wondering if the grip is the same as supergrip.

I don't know if I'm posting in the right place but: I've been using a bictory and a zhigao v11 so I want better pens but I don't feel like modding my own. Which store would be cheapest to get some premodded pens (including shipping to the US)? Which premade mods will have a functional pen/pencil?

i suggest using http://penwish.com/ its trustworthy, has a decent selection, and free shipping in the US for orders over $25.99 RSVP MX is a decent mod that is still writable, but generally mods that you can write with do not spin as well (not true in all cases though)

How would these pens be (not really directed at you)? PenWish GJH Pencil Mod, MonAmi 153 Retractable Mod "Sky Bling" version, Comssa 153 Retractable Mod-S2, "Toxic" Type 5
