Nice tutorial but I think you should add links to a couple of other MX tutorials so people can have more choice and see how different people make their MX's. Off topic but related to discussion at hand about the wiki tutorials : And plus there are some mods on there people just don't make anymore.

It was relevant to the discussion at hand. Edited for your satisfaction. And nacho, I don't think I've ever seen one of these, or this, and possibly even this to name a few. -

meh theyre uncommon but that doesnt mean you can just assume no one ever makes em. actually i had one of each of those at some point of my time modding so :dunno:

Apparently, yes. @Milk, famous or not, tuts will always be requested at some point in time.

It doesn't really matter as long as the grip is the same. -

is the grip the same? -
Date: Fri, Jul 2 2010 01:31:47
I don't think you can, I doubt the grip and tip are the same as a regular HGG. What does the retractable HGG look like?
-
Date: Fri, Jul 2 2010 01:55:36
plastic tip, kind of like a G2. grip is worthless, feels like a g3 and looks 3 times worse I'll take a pic next time I go to artmart
-
Date: Fri, Jul 2 2010 01:57:35
no need, i saw what it looks like, so yeah you can't use that for the MX since it's completely different
-
Date: Fri, Jul 9 2010 03:14:04
why isnt this approved?
-
Date: Fri, Jul 9 2010 03:16:53
Either the mods haven't gotten around to approving it (No tuts have) or it's because this guide doesn't follow that template thingy that iMatt has
-
Date: Fri, Jul 9 2010 03:31:25
well not just that, there's already a tut on this mod in the V3 section

take the hgg grip/tip and insert the rsvp front into the cap with grip and pull -
Date: Sat, Jul 10 2010 03:32:59
theres a plastic mech stuck into too so the hgg/grip wont fit in
-
Date: Sat, Jul 10 2010 03:49:55
Try applying superglue to a paperclip and stick it into the mech. Let the glue dry and pull. Then you should be able to salvage the grip with tweezers or needlenose pliers or a flathead screwdriver. The cap already looks pretty beat up so I think as a last resort you could just cut the cap in order to release the confined grip.

i got it out with a hammer and nail anyway how do u get the lil ball out of the rsvp cap?
-
Date: Sun, Jul 11 2010 03:44:27
get a stove that has a flame (not the electric kind) and heat up a paper clip and push if thrpugh the top of the cap to make a hole. let it cool off the push the ball out
-
Date: Sun, Jul 11 2010 08:33:45
i dont want to damage the lil ball tho
-
Date: Sun, Jul 11 2010 15:38:30
you dont. you use the heated paperclip to melt a hole in the top but youncool it off thenpush the ball out by pushing the paperclip into the hole. it should pop out and roll out the big hole side ofnthe cap
-
Date: Mon, Jul 12 2010 00:27:46
is there any other way?
-
Date: Mon, Jul 12 2010 00:34:54
not really but you cant really tell theres a hole in the top ynless you look real close
-
Date: Mon, Jul 12 2010 01:38:11
i use an exacto knife and just poke at the top of the rsvp cap to make a hole and then i just use a paperclip or toothpick to push the ball out the hole that you make with the exacto knife is really small and unnoticeable like with nacho's way
-
Date: Mon, Jul 12 2010 01:58:48
Get a sewing needle and poke it through the top.
-
Date: Mon, Jul 12 2010 05:11:24
ya i dont like the ball, it looks kinda ugly
-

I agree with the first two, but a slightly personalized version of the RSVG2 was the first mod that I ever made and actually liked. It was shorter, so it's really only good for newer spinners, but I absolutely loved it at the time. I do agree that something should be made to better integrate the wiki with the various board threads, though. In fact, what even happened to the wiki? It hasn't been working for at least a day. -
