Hey guys, Not sure if you have heard of or seen it before. Just thought of sharing it here since i'm currently trying it out. Basically, one makes use of small (but strong) Neodymium magnets (usually consists of 216 magnets, in the size of 5mm in diameter) to make limitless shapes ranging from abstract to geometry and flat to 3D. I believe this form of manipulation is pretty new. It is marketed under the brand names such as NeoCube, Nanodots, Zen Magnets, CyberCube, and Buckyballs to name a few. It's also available in Singapore for Singaporeans who are interested. Below is a sample of some tricks that can be done (you can also look for more videos on youtube through the various brand names mentioned above):

Hey it's Tohlz! How you doing? My best mate is well into these and makes all sorts of shapes. They do look pretty cool, but I'm afraid to get any, for fear of how much time I will waste on them!

I'm doing fine, thanks. :) And yea, I was a moderator during the olden days when UPSB was in v2. Posts don't usually get transferred to the new version.

yeah ive seen those before, but its not really a manipulation because it is not the act of manipulating them that is artistic, but rather the product itself. although it would be quite innovative to see what kind of artistic manipulation is possible with those.

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a couple of those to fiddle around with them. How much do they cost in Singapore and where do you get them?? I don't really like the execution process though, no showmanship involved.

Roughly 18-24 SGD, but it's the distributor price. You can contact me for the distributor's number if you want to meet him for the magnets. Not officially out in Singapore yet, but will be in retail stores soon.

I have them :D I bought the ones off Zen Magnet. They are fun to play with, but there aren't many tutorials on how to make complex shapes :/

while they are fun, after a few uses the outer layer peels and they smell like shit and look like crap. still pretty fun if you replace them often. but trust me.. it is limited shapes and stuff.. after playing with them for a week thers not much else you can do, as the magnets only connect certain ways beacause they only have 2 poles.

had these for almost a year now. Fun, but be careful not to lose them. You can make a lot of weird shapes, just gotta think outside the box.

they're kinda small, so you might have to use more than two and they would have to be inside or they will go flying around and bounce til you lose them
