Just post artists, songs, albums, videos, pictures, or anything related. Threads mainly for me to rake in your suggestions so fire away. Been lovin' me some Atmosphere, Aesop Rock, and MF Doom lately and I found this song with all of them...

here is the reason i dislike immortal technique: 1. having a message to a song is great, but tech sounds too much like a conspiracy theorist 2. his vocabulary, however expansive, is rather superfluous 3. he only has one style of flow/rhythm 4. he only rhymes words ending in -ly, most commonly -ically my best/favourites go to wu tang clan although i do love atmosphere's if life give you lemons... album, probably the most relatable hip hop album for me

Listen to this guy. Also: This song has a sick beat. This one's got some really nice samples at the beginning on top of an intense video. -

MF Doom is sick. I'm assuming you've already heard Madvillainy and Vaudeville Villain?

Wu-tang is alright. They only have a few good songs. A lot of their lyrics are gibberish that don't really make sense or connect to each other; ESPECIALLY Ghost Face Killa. Ever heard him try to freestyle? Shit's hilarious. MF Doom has only one type of flow and his tone never changes. It's boring, but at least I recognize he's got skill. I love me some Sage Francis, Flow Sik, Far East Movement (their older stuff), Jurassic 5, Lyrics Born, Jin, Mos Def, Styles of Beyond, and more.

Far East Movement is hardly hip-hop.

Talib Qweli is also brilliant thing i like about wu tang is the first album (enter the wutang), the first round of solos (liquid swords, cuban linx, ol' dirty's album) because they were revolutionary - the mix of hip hop and kung fu references, a whole pile of new slang, songs (well, skit) about torture and the enter the wutang album isn't meant to be a smoothe flowing coherent album with a central sotry, its more a collection of battle rhymes gah, i have way too much to say i'll just end with mentioning scarface, and also slick rick

Fort Minor is pretty good. Only released one album though sadly. He worked a lot with Styles of Beyond on his tracks

Ha ha, Fort Minor is such a joke. People I like listening to: Eminem (ever since I was in 4th grade), Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kid Cudi, The Pharcyde, Brother Ali, The Game (Only in The Documentary), 50 Cent (Bulletproof and The Massacre), B.o.B, D12, 2Pac, Ludacris has some good stuff, T.I is also good (need to get more of his material), Mobb Deep, NWA, some of Xzibit's stuff. Those are most of the artists that I have in my library, not to mention all the One-Hit Wonders. -

The sad thing is that there's so much more hip hop artists I hate than love. I guess that's just the way it goes. Eminem was a force to be reckoned with back then. He's still got it, but I think he's falling off. To me, there aren't many artists that consistently pull off good songs so I only really like songs here and there from a lot of different people. Hell, I even like G-Unit's "Hate It Or Love It." Here's some good shit: Virtuoso - Guaranteed Slug - Higher Living Style of Beyond - Muuvon Jupitersciples - Carpel Tunnelin Operatives Snacky Chan - Combat Zone Visionaries - I Love Hip Hop

Well fort minor is actually not that bad. I was trying to introduce people to an underground hip hop artist. But I'm more into B.o.B, Wale, Lupe Fiasco, Asher Roth, and all the other underdogs of mainstream. Lil Wayne can suck it.

There so much that I want to talk about and you guys have done pretty good so far :) Wu-Tang always has to be mentioned those are some of my favorites, I'm just going to compile a list before I start to lose everything thats in my head. Slug (Atmosphere) Brotha Ali Code Named Scorpion Gang Starr People Under the Stairs Dilated Peoples Souls of Mischief which spawned The Heiroglyphics Blue Scholars Danger Mouse MF Doom of course, he does a lot of producing so he works on hella tracks Classified BluePrint Aesop Rock Vast Aire who is a part of Cannibal Ox Brotha Lynch Hung which is pretty much gore rap but good nonetheless Jurassic 5 N.W.A. Run DMC Del tha Funkee Homosapien Nujabes this guy is a producer so he works on alot of tracks aswell, not all would be considered hip hop but some El Da Sensei LifeSavas Heiruspecs I'm Cashed for right now. I'll come back and keep updating this list once I start remembering more.

i haven't heard of/have albums of literally 90% of the artists tylt listed this is going to be a fun couple of months also, no one's mentioned jedi mind tricks, anyone a fan of them? i dont really like their older stuff, but kings of heaven servants in hell was a really nice album to anyone who's listened to that album, anything similar? ie. the production being big and heavy, almost epic sounding i found raekwon's cuban linx 2 similar sounding production wise

Soulja boy and new boyz are not real hip hop. And does anyone here find a problem with Drake? Idk why he gets so much hate, is it cause he was on Degrassi?

I think it may have something to do with the fact that he sounds exactly Lil' Wayne. Not sure though. -

drake is alright, his old songs were good. But now he just isn't that old drake anymore. Like he kills a song. For eg. this song. He killed it.

Yeah, Drake got caught up with Find Your Love, I guess he kinda thinks he's a singer now >_> He should stick with rap IMO. Well, anyways, cant believe I forgot about dumbfoundead. just an awesome rapper, his battles are hilarious, check out one of his recent songs:

I also like to listen to some battle raps sometimes and one of my favorites is Soul Khan, some smart jewish guy who makes some dope rhymes. @A.Sate I couldn't have said it any better, Dumbfoundead is a good battle rapper two. This is a good battle with him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rsg8fLNgZ80 He really should have one, the little white dude just made racial slurs the whole time, and the wrong race of asian at that. Anyways I digress.
