not even a little bit unless you're taking highschool classes in middle school, those do transfer over to your highschool transcript, mine did anyway but then it's only for those classes

Uhhh, if you want advanced courses or a good job with high salary (such as doctors, scientist, politician), then it matters. Just always try your best to be better than all of your classmates, and be close with your teachers and your counselor. It always helps.

@strat, my highschool creds from middle didn't transfer in the transcript. And no they don't matter, just pass, and don't be lazy, honestly, if you're struggling in middle school to keep your grades up maybe you should take the time to rethink the way you study so you're better prepared later on ( you still have a a lot of school left) and it's kinda of free time to prepare before it really "matters" and even then it doesn't matter that much. Just don't get too lazy during the end of 8th grade and begining of 9th grade, the work load isn't too bad, but most kids get lazy over that summer and are hit hard.

How you do in middle school doesnt count one shit. THAT IS. Unless those classes count as credits such as Alg 1 honors and such. Doing good in middle school is good regardless. You can get into higher programs or classes if you do.

Only advance high school classes should only transfer

lol, well, I'm taking Algebra II in 8th grade, so it matters for me... However, if you're really THAT lazy, I don't know how you'll do well in high school or get into a good college. Middle school is EASY.

Nope. Not at all. Why would you need your GPA for a collage?

Yeah, some magazines or something would be best.

Middle school grades don't matter at all. The only truly important years for getting into college are your sophomore and junior years of high school.

elementary school marks mean shit, high school marks let you get into a "better" college, high college marks let you get into better grad programs/med school/whatever. Only marks that matter are the last marks you have, and after you have a few years work experience marks don't matter. Don't worry, have fun ;D

the only way i can think of for middle school to remotely matter is if you want to attend a private high school.

Maybe his collage includes his report cards and he's wondering if his bad grades would make a difference to the collage

@Jan The grades are important, because right now it shows that you are a retard. First off, a collage is an assembly of many pictures. As to where college is NOT an assembly of pictures. So to answer your question, no grades are not important in middle school for (a) collage(s).

at the very least it's a good idea to at least keep up your grade in middle school so you can actually do the work in high school. Besides middle school is easy as hell, i didn't need to study in middle school but now i have to study like crazy =_=

Nah, middle school gpa's mean nothing. It all depends on certain classes you take and if you pass them (such as foreign language and geometry, could knock off a year of it in high school). But if you get good grades, there will be more programs available to you, and programs always look good on a transcript. But overall, enjoy middle school. High school is when you need to panic over grades.

oh yeah, you have to maintain a B- or C something like that in order to not drop down a level in math (in my area), and as others said it could knock a year off your math career in high school if you show proficiency in subjects like math and foreign language
