continued from http://www.upsb.info/forum/index.php?showtopic=10328&st=180&start=180 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I just found out that Neotoma has had the ability of being able to control dreams since she was born. Is anyone else like this? I taught myself how to control my dreams....but to have this ability since birth is quite extraordinary.

iunno if u guys care, but there is an idoser called lucid dream. i tried it and it actually worked. i wasnt able to control my dreams or w/e, but i was able to remember my dream which never happens. my friend also has tried it, and he succeeded in remembering his dream. he said that it's more vivid and clear.

yeah I've heard of the idosers, and supposedly they work well! I guess I would reccommend them, but I just do it the all-natural way of WILDing to do a Lucid Dream.

Idoser is actually bad for you, it messes with your brain waves, its a stimulant like other drugs without the other side effects like smoking, it still screws up your brain

well the thing is wonder, only lucid dream idoser worked for me. the drug ones hasnt worked. there was a part in gates of hades that scared the shiet out of me, but yeh~~. idoser is a better alternative than drugs. do u have any proof that it screws up your brain? besides the fact that you might get a bad trip and go crazy, which i dont think have ever happened. the crazy part not the bad trip and for toma, if u can lucid dream, cant u make ur dream more enjoyable? if u become lucid while having a nightmare, then u should know that the nightmares cant hurt u.

i've been talking with Neotoma the last couple of days, and to my understanding, she actually does feel pain in dreams (nightmares or not). So she has to be on constant guard (like in real life when crossing the street etc.)

I've always wanted to try to try Lucid Dreaming. Sounds like a cool experience. Anyways, how long did it take for you to get WILD down or DILD? And which one is easier :P How long was it before you got your first Lucid Dream when you first tried? Anyways, since we're on the topic of iDoser, i've always wanted to try that, but some videos freaked me out O_O Does it really screw with your brain? Sounds like a cool thing to try out too :D

  16. Neotoma
    Date: Sat, Jun 26 2010 14:04:28

Ya. I normally make my dreams enjoyable but every once and a while i will fall asleep and did not think of something to do BEFORE i fall asleep and something i found scary in the past will show up. Once it does i immediately get rid of it and change it to something pleasant. : P

  17. VendettaBF
    Date: Sun, Jun 27 2010 03:14:57

seriously it doesnt screw up ur brain to the point where u should be scared. so far there has been no death recorded from idoser, no brain damage recorded, no other injuries. just a shit load of ppl freaking out from a bad trip. i havent been so lucky with idosers, only lucid dreaming worked for me, and gates of hades alittle. so if u are trying to being lucid dreaming i reccomend idoser.

Last night i had my first lucid dream in a long while (months). Twas awesome. Yeah i checked if it was a dream or not by: 1. Spitting on my hand, then sucking it back up while my hand was at waist level. 2. Walking through a door. lol, Yeah it was cool. I think i remembered it was a dream because i woke my self up before i was about to be killed my a dragon. (i thought it was real) yeah so i opened my eyes. And i didn't do anything and immediately fell asleep again. Then i remembered to do reality checks and then i was off to roam my dream world.

I have a notebook and pen right by my bed to write them down, but I haven't remembered any in the last 3 days I'm going to try that thing where you wake up in the middle of the night and go straight into a dream from being awake so it'll be easier to remember

ever since i heard about this ive always wanted to try it but i cant ever seem to tell myself that im dreaming.. i mean when i have a dream i can remember them very vaguely.. once i woke up in the middle of the night and punched my dream in on my ipod which helped me remember it when i woke up the next morning.. is there a higher or lower success rate at doing this if ur super tired as opposed to just normally tired? bc i find myself being super tired when i go to bed (its the summer so i stay up late for no reason) and i fall asleep faster.. so does this affect the ability to control ur dreams in any way?

[QUOTE=Ohayo wrote: Well im starting to learn how to lucid dream slowly. Like i can tell whether or not if im dreaming. Ohayo, ur on the right track! Now that you have taken the first step, you can start to practice controlling your dream. I reccommend to stay a little out of your comfort zone; try pushing a little more and go deeper within your dream...trust me, you will wake up. One time, I was ready to end my dream and wake up, just because I was bored. Since I can now control my dream completely, I just made a gun appear and I shot myself in the head :p. the impact made me wake up. If anyone has any questions, feel free to PM me. I will answer questions much more quickly than I would if it is posted in a thread. Good luck everyone! Happy dreaming

So much control that you can get bored in your dream... that makes me want to get better at lucid dreaming so bad, but when I get into bed I cant make my self set my alarm clock to four :s

Okay so, last night i experienced a dream within a dream. IT WAS FUCKING WEIRD, i couldn't tell if i was in reality or if i was in the first level or in the second level since i kept falling asleep in the first level and waking up every 10 minutes in the second level >_>.

Hey I never knew there was a UPSB thread about this! I kept a dream journal for like a month this summer but I gave it up because I got lazy. I still have the occasional DILD without even preparing which is always fun, but I have a few issues: First of all, I can never stay awake. Half the time I wake up within the first 5 seconds of realizing I'm dreaming. One time I rubbed my hands together which stimulated my dream body and kept me in there for another minute or so. Another problem I have is that I can never do anything I try to do. For example, I'll try to open a door but my hand will constantly slip on the doorknob. One time I couldn't even walk. I just kept stumbling and ended up falling over on the floor face down and waking up. Anything I can do to prevent this? I can also never think clearly. I'll try to slow down and decide what I want to do, but I'll end up waking up or failing to organize my thoughts. Ho hum. On a positive note though, I might have some sort of gift for lucid dreaming because I never do reality checks and I just know I'm dreaming at the start of a dream or it just hits me. I also sometimes have sleep paralysis when I'm going to bed which makes it easy to go into a dream.

I've had lucid dreams before, but when I realize im in "dream land", I think the mental power just wakes me up. When I have a lucid dream (rarely), I automatically realize and start like.. testing, to make sure. I remember once flipping a mountain...then just waking up.

I had my first lucid last night! :woop: And I was able to control it! I was at Sam's Club looking around when i ran into Chiyo-chan from Azumanga Daioh. I said hi, gave her a hug, and kept going. I then ran in to Tomo from Azumanga Daioh. (yeah i dunno. I haven't seen that series in a looooong time) She asked me if i could help her pick out belts for some reason. I said yes, but on the was to the clothing isle we heard a gunshot. A voice screamed, "Everyone to the front and get on the ground!" we hurriedly did so. We saw the attackers. They were all wearing the typical black ski masks. I got on the floor and started praying. Then suddenly I put it together. "Chiyo-chan and Tomo? But those aren't real people! Then that means...this is a dream." I immediately tried to take control of the situation. I imagined that I could reflect bullets with my chest. So to test it, I stood up. The robber directly in front of me shouted, "What are you doing!? Get back on the floor!" He pointed the gun at me and fired. The bullet bounced off my chest. "I can't believe it worked!" I thought. I imagined that I knew martial arts, and performed some kind of take down and dislocated the robbers arm. At once I was under full fire of all of the robbers. Every bullet bounced off of me. Sadly, my stupid dog barked and woke me up then...T_T But still, FIRST LUCID DREAM :XD:

RICERCAR! So i read your Lucid Dreaming Post and heard about your Lucid Dream experience. GREAT JOB BUDDY! According to your post, you had whats known as a DILD, or a Dream Induced Lucid Dream. It means you gained Lucidity in the middle of your dream. AND YOU WERE ABLE TO CONTROL IT! Great job! Wasnt it just an amazing experience? So practically you know what it feels to be like me and your sister, to be able to control your ENTIRE dream and do WHATEVER you want! I highly encourage you to keep trying to WILD or do research on DILDs. Once you have the power mastered, you can live out ultimate fantasies that could never happen IRL. Again Great Job! Keep up the good work, Comrade! - KC PS: Any further questions or if you just want to talk, PM me!

Question. In the past week I've had 3 times when I willingly woke up from a dream. Like I barely remember telling myself "DUDE WAKE UP" because I didn't like where the dream was going. Does this count as like the bare beginning of lucid dreaming? Or am I still not really doing anything? XD

EVERYONE who wants to try should read it. It's a tutorial from a girl who can have multiple LD's per NIGHT (so like 400-600 a year) I used to LD like twice a week but then kinda lost intrest / couldn't be bothered. Alright so lets start with KTrinh's question on 1 page back, he asked if manually waking up counts as beginner's lucid dreaming. yes it can be interpreted as that. if you do anything where you can control something in a dream, it counts as lucidity. RH & Neotoma - Feel free to answer any questions there are in this thread if i dont get back to them in time. The more the merrier. Yamateh - sure you can get addicted. if you perform any action enough, you can feel like its normal, and do it almost obsessively. But its nothing to fear. i quite enjoy lucid dreaming just because its my world. i have the real world where it is out of my control, and my world where it is in my control. just a cool bridge between reality and imagination. Krispy Kreme - I was once like that as well; especially when i first learned to control dreams really well. Phua SY - Dream journals are really helpful because it allows your dream recall ability to grow and be experienced. You dont want to have a really cool lucid dream, but hardly be able to remember it. More questions, keep posting in the thread and/or PM me ^_^. Keep up the good work comrades!

Sorry Kari-Chan, didnt see your question. Dream Recall doesnt necessarily HAVE to be RIGHT when you wake up. You can do it maybe like within 15 mins of waking up. After that, you start to forget more and more. So maybe right a note somewhere like on your alarm clock or on your door or something to remind you to write down in a dream journal.

if you practice enough, yeah. After only a year's worth of practice, i can do ANYTHING in my dreams. Some people, like UPSB's very own Neotoma, are born with the ability to fully control their dreams; while others, like me, have to practice WILDing and controlling dream techniques. Its really fun when you get the hang of it.

I have discovered an easy way to induce lucid dreams. This is like a backdoor or shortcut. All you have to do is be prone to talking in your sleep. If you talk in your sleep and there is someone nearby then it is possible for them to talk to you back. If the sleeping person is able to comprehend the person in the outside world then they can receive instruction to wake up in their mind and become conscious that they are dreaming. Once they are conscious, the dreamer then gains the ability to do anything imaginable. The sky is no longer the limit and the only hinderence would be a lack of imagination.

indeed. this is known as DILD with Outside Interference and occasionally works. I havent tried to do this before, but i have heard that it does sometimes work. Although the only tough part is that you have to (A) Be sleep talking and (B) have someone be willing to stay up while you sleep and await the sleep talking to begin. Therefore it is sometimes difficult to get this to work because you need a lot to occur.

when I was attempting WILD. Also, i think it was a bad try since I was uber tired from all the practice in dances. So, i decided to try it somewhere 11AM (i was tired, so yeah i thought i'd try), then that shaking happened, then my sister woke me up AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH. Also, I still have difficulty controlling my mind from drifting. Read up some stuff at dreamviews, and I suddenly realized being naked was one of my dream cues. That could mean you are too conscious or it could just mean that your subconscious mind hasnt gotten used to the fact that you arent overweight anymore. Either way, you are on the right track since you are recognizing dream signs and dream cues that indicate that you are dreaming. Keep goin!

Besides controlling your dream, that is the hardest part. Once you realised you're dreaming, you may wake up from the excitement of realising u have succeeded. So you have to remain calm or else the dream will collapse. (lol, sounds like Inception)

So today I was dreaming and I was in deep like I don't think while I was dreaming I was aware, but it was during a nap, because last night I didnt get to sleep and it was so intense, it was like we were heroes aor something and yoyu know how rationality is kidn of warped in a dream, basically it had 3 settings this sort of apartment, my house, and im not sure its getting kind of hazy even though I just woke up. Basically my family all had superpowers and a unicorn came to our door and granted my brother and father a wish and I could fly, and the president from heros who can fly was in it too. and somehow some people found out or I contacted someone about it and found out that other people had it.. it was really weird, like reading a book but also stuck in the place of a charecter so I was semi-omniprecent... I usually caqnt remember dreams so vividly, is it because It was a nap? or because my dad sort of woke me up in the middle? it felt almost as the dream became more and more real my mind began to rationalize it out and become aware of my sleeping and dreaming state... btw what does the unicorn mean? 0 _0

naps are usually easier to remember. Just because you don't sleep as long and its usually not during a big REM Cycle. I love dreams like that, when even if they are not lucid, they are incredibly vivid and you can *understand* whats really going on, even when you wake up. Make sure you write that down in your dream journal! ^_^

sounds like your dream recall is sound, and you dream often. so thats a plus. What I would reccomend is start trying to have DILDs, or Dream-Initiated-Lucid-Dreams. What you do is starting now, every hour or so, (or just whenever you think about it) perform reality checks. A reality check can be anything as simple as looking at words on a book or computer screen. If you can read the words, then most likely, you are awake. Do some form of reality check whenever you think about it, and if you do this enough, you will continue to do them in your dreams. However when you do them in your dream, something will be different. If your reality check is reading words on a book, then when you are in a dream, it is MUCH more difficult to read. For me, the words are all blurred together, or WAY spelled wrong. Something significantly stands out, and I realise that I am dreaming. Once you can get this mastered, controlling dreams will be much eaiser.

I don't remember my dreams very often, but when I do, I always have lucid dreams. I know that I'm dreaming and I can control myself and some elements of my dream, but not all in my dream (actually, I never tried to control all of what happens in my dream, I like to see what happens, my dreams are always funny). I can feel (one time I got killed in one dream, I woke up instantly and it hurt a lot) and hear in my dreams. And I always know all the things that are in my dreams (I know a lot of ppl that I never seen in my life when I see them in me dreams, or how to use things, how to use magic in some dreams... xP). I never use a technique to do this, I only sleep and dream. So it will be DILD (I think), but I can't vote.

When I was young, I was cursed with having lucid dreams of almost all my nightmares. I remember my very first nightmare almost crystal clear. I also had a series of reacurring nightmares of the same... person / thing ... for about 5 years until they abruptly stopped, and I can remember each one like it happened yesterday. Recently I have not had any lucid dreams since then, and I'm too afraid of getting a bad lucid dream to try it.

If you learn to have lucid dreams, nightmares practically don't exist. This is due to being able to control every aspect of your dream that you want. However, like Jokerx7,

I like to see what happens
. I don't control EVERYTHING, because I also like to see what will happen. I am pretty much an actor, who is acting out a role in a movie, but I am also the director of the "movie" and change things to my liking.

HEY! So I just power napped and had a lucid dream. It wasn't much but I rolled up some piece of paper and then flattened it and it became steel and I whacked it against a door frame to make sure it was real and it made a sound so I was sure it was. But I proceeded to bend it into an ampersand (& sign) and then tied it into a knot. Then I straightened it out again. that's pretty much it =P Edit: Oh yeah and after that little dream I told myself to wake up and it was so weird because for a second everything went black and then I woke up (as if my dreams and reality had a cross fade effect to them) and I woke up and my walls were still black but I could see my hands and bed.. Then my walls kind of blotched back to white.

you can learn how to have them whenever you want to. for me, I almost always have them now, even if I don't want to. Just because I either WILD, or I recognize dream signs within a dream and have a DILD. For me, its rarer to not have a lucid dream.

I think that it wasnt you. If your mind wanted you to be having sex with her, then your dream would have been you doing her, not another person. I think that the kid represents your desire for her, and the fact that you beat him up afterwards proves this point.

yeah, it isnt normal for people to be able to control their dreams and do whatever they want from birth. Usually, people can only occasionally get lucid dreams (w/o practice). After I trained myself for a while, I am now at the point where you are, to where I can do whatever I want in a dream.

@CBG I can control my dreams now, It took a while but i got the hang of it, my buddy Hex (perhaps u know him) told me to do dream recalls so like, every morning you try to remember as much as you can about what you've just dreamed about and write it down. Then once you start remembering you have to do a series of tests to ensure that you are infact in 'dream mode'. So what I do is test some things which arent possible in the real world (being able to jump far distances, multiple fingers :P, or whatnot) and being able to realise that these are impossible phenomena. Once you notice that the stuff you are experiencing is too good to be true or just plain abnormal, then you know u are dreaming. So yeah after doing these tests, ive finally figured out the times when i was dreaming or whatever and controlled it. During this controlled period, I tested some very extreme situtations in which i would never test in real life, and see how it would work out. Very interesting these outcomes LOL Anyhow thanks for the encouragment CGB!! -ugghhh mind my spelling errors.. :P

Light;44972]@CBG I can control my dreams now, It took a while but i got the hang of it, my buddy Hex (perhaps u know him) told me to do dream recalls so like, every morning you try to remember as much as you can about what you've just dreamed about and write it down. :P
Light, I'm so glad that you have been able to get the hang of it. Hex was totally right with Dream Recall; on my profile page under the Lucid dreaming tab, I too reccomend people to get a good dream recall ability, and practice recalling every morning. Speaking of my profile, did my tutorial help you in your dreaming experience? If you have any more questions, let me know! [QUOTE=chili pepper wrote: I've been practicing this stuff and finally got one that I could control... bad shit happened. First I did coke off a hooker's ass and partied but I ended up unleashing zombies. I was so afraid that I couldn't get out of the mindset of being afraid, so I got eaten... I woke up and fell outta my loft bed Is there any way to prevent this from happening? I wanna do it again but not if bad shit is gonna happen ._.
Chili pepper, Yeah first time control is often REALLY tough. On my first time, I got so excited about being able to control my dream that I actually woke up from excitement. Whenever I have a "nightmare" or a dream with scary *SHIT* goin' down, I remind my self that I am dreaming, and I cannot be hurt in any way. I also am never afraid anymore because I can *fully* control my dream. So if a giant zombie is rushing towards me, all I have to do is lift my hand and I can rip him apart with telekinesis etc. So pretty much I am a God in my dream, and I can do ANYTHING. I encourage you and everyone else who is interested to keep on trying to lucid dream. It might be scary at first, but it gets easier and much more pleasant. Check out my tutorial and tips on my profile under the Lucid Dreaming tab for more information, and you can always PM me! I am on here all the time.

@chili pepper, yeah CGB is totally right about this, you are basicially god, since you control everything. So next time, if some next shit happens, you take control and ensure it doesnt happen. For instance, in your dream, perhaps ur getting robbed and ur hiding. And you know the robbers have guns or whatnot, STOP TIME LOL. Friggen pants them, take their gun and get the hell outta there. While ur doing that, make sure you marker their face. I made a very intense situation into quite a funny one just cuz Im in total control of my dreams. Anyhow good luck^^

I've been working on dream recall for a while now, but I'm having problems. I'll be able to remember dreams really well for like a week, and then I'll have two weeks where I can't remember anything at all, and a week where I can sort of remember dreams. Then the cycle repeats. Help?

First Lucid Dream? Well, I just woke up after what I think was a lucid dream. I'll cut to the chit chat and start. As I can recall, the dream started somewhere in an underwater world in a made up video game. There was a knight and some creature, perhaps a monster that was taunting the knight. Later, the knight killed the creature. After awhile, I don't know what happened, if the underwater feeling subsided, but then my mom came out of nowhere to order a massage (?!) then as she was negotiating, I overheard her asking the horse sitting down (?!) if this was a real place, and the horse answered (?!) while they were in conversation and I bent down, looked at one of the ornaments, then suddenly out of the blue I said "I am dreaming". After that, things started going a little bit crazy. For a few seconds, my vision was darkened, then I was suddenly like swimming through a water for a few seconds, before some hands began to hold my neck (I swear to you, I really felt the hands on my neck!). I really wanted to wake up, and I felt it, as I struggled that my consciousness was nearing, but I decided to stay put. After a while, the hands were still there, then I was teleported to some random resort, where I was in bird's eye view. I overheard some mumbling about something being activated. After that, I think the dream ended on a massage scene. Then I woke up. I don't know if this was really one, but I hope it was :)) damn, those hands were, like, real.

If you get the hang of it, you can stop time, fly. and tons of other cool stuff. Ask Neotoma for other creative ideas. Try Googling DILD, or Dream Induced Lucid Dreaming. Also, my profile (ugh I've said this so many times hahaa) has a tutorial for WILDing, which in my opinion, is MUCH easier than DILDing. Just click my name, and go to the Lucid Dreaming Tab.

whoa, dude. O_o Oh, and CGB, well I got to drift for a moment with a dream, and I'm not sure what it can mean, but whatever it will mean, I won't dwell on it. Here it is: For a moment, my vision cleared, then I saw me and my crush sitting together on the grass near the covered court. I didn't pay heed back then. But I noticed that all the ballers/bracelets that she commonly wore were gone, and in it were ballers with the same color as what I'm wearing right now (yellow and black). Well, I know only 2 people who wears those color-combo of ballers (me and some guy named Bobby in our school, only his black baller wasn't really a baller, but Power Balance). I got a glimpse that both of the ballers were really ballers (lol) and not other kinds of bracelets. then vision darkened. what can this mean? :?

Hmm, well I'm not an "expert" when it comes to Dream Interpretation (no one is really, cuz its UR subconscious), but I think it is just your subconscious telling you that you want this girl. And the fact that she had the same color bracelet as you, to me, strengthens my assumptions.

My dream last night was similar to chris's...maybe you can figure out what this means. Its rather long, so do your best :3 So me and "crush" (i hate that word) we're sitting in English class. The teacher, Ms Wilson is doing what she always does; expecting freshmen to understand difficult literature at a college level. Anyway, she yells at her after she gives an answer, and she becomes really upset. The answer was correct, but Ms Wilson wouldn't accept it. After class I go to comfort her, because she is near the brink of tears. She has her head in her hands, and her gorgeous sandy blond hair is covering her face. We start talking (I couldn't remember the dialog, there might not have been any) and she cheers up. I clear the hair from her face and she starts smiling and blushing. Time jumps forward, im guessing about a month or two, and I'm standing outside her house. It's a 2 story house, white, with grey trim. I ring the doorbell, and she comes out in this, beautiful red dress. I complement her, and we get in my car (this should have induced DILD, but I wasnt aware. Im 14, I shouldn't be able to drive, let alone have my OWN car.) and drive to this...oriental kind of restaurant, Pei Wei. They get her order wrong, so they give us the meal free. After we're done eating, she asks if I want to see a movie, too. I say yes, so we drive to the movie theater. But we dont watch the movie, if you know what i mean :3 It's about 10:30 when the movie ends, we go back to her house. When we get there, she remembers that her parents aren't home, so she invites me inside. We start hanging out, I serenade her on guitar, she kicks my butt at some sort of fighting game (it looks similar to SF4, but im not sure) and then, she asks if i want to see her room, for some reason. She says she'll meet me up there. Her room isn't like any other "normal" girl, no justin bieber cutout, no twilight posters, just one signed poster of Raskel Flats that she got from an Arizona concert, a few pictures of her and her family, an iPod and iHome, and a bed with blue sheets. I hear knocking on the door, and she comes in. She asks me how I like it. I say its great. I take notice of the bed, and say "That looks comfy, i'm pretty tired." I hop onto it and she does too, next to me. The dream ends with her rolling on top of me, we started full on macking, and her starting to take off her shirt. Yeah. Long. But I feel there has to be some meaning behind it, like, her dream room was constructed from her real likes. So, I dunno. Normally, I'm really shy around her, like, I cant even say hi, but what does a dream like this tell me? Thanks in advance! ~Ricercar

Long post coming. Did something like this happened to you? I woke up about 4-6AM ( I dunno when, but somewhere there), after a dream, then I slept again. It wasn't a minute into sleeping, I blurted in my mind "I am dreaming" then I felt another feeling again, like something stabbing me. Then some nigger said it's not time yet (or something in those lines). Yes, it was a black American man's voice. .___. Also, woke up again from a dream (not lucid). It started in a classroom again with my "crush". Some blurry situations, but I remembered me and my crush were teased, there was no teacher. Then my stomach ached so I went to the comfort room. I took a dump. As I was cleaning up, my Language (Filipino) teacher went in. (Surprisingly, the comfort room was complete with toilet, shower, etc unlike our school's were there is no shower). Yes, she was female. As I hid, she was suddenly lecturing some lesson of sorts. (she did not see me doing my business) then she went out. Then a good friend of mine (also a girl wtf?!) went in and I put on my clothes (or I think I was). She told me (i was kind of turned back, so i didn't see her) I missed a lesson and then mumbled something about missing an activity. I questioned and turned to face her, but as I faced her, she was naked (or half-naked. She was, because as I was shocked, I held the part of her left arm, near the shoulder and discovered it was nothing but skin). She said "There you go again" (this was on touching her arm), and I quickly withdrawed my arms. i saw her boobies and she was smiling. Then the dream blurried out. And I woke up with ~25USD on my table. Shit was so cash. .____________. I should start a dream journal. i can vividly remember dreams "a bit".

is it also true that if you dream of someone it means that that 'someone' misses you? it says on google its true idk google: What Does it Mean When you Dream about Someone you Like? Normally, the thoughts of someone you like are on your mind all day, and more precisely, before you sleep. Dreaming about someone you like is therefore, not at all an uncommon experience. Dreaming about them, could simply be a manifestation of your infatuation or attraction towards them. If the person likes you back, the dream signifies your acceptance, self-confidence and self-respect. Whereas, if the person appears to reject you in the dream, it is a sign of being low on yourself and feeling of insecurity creeps in. You are not confident about winning the person over and are mentally preparing yourself for rejection, so that it doesn’t hurt you that badly. This could be considered as a kind of defense mechanism implemented by the subconscious. When you dream about someone you had liked in the past, not the person, but the pattern of events related to them are important. You may be facing a similar pattern in your current life, or experiencing strikingly similar feelings, like the ones you had for them -- i dreamed of her rejecting me in my dream.. no wonder...yeah im shy, insecure and scared of rejection...now i wont be shy anymore..i dont wanna lose her over someone else...gonna grow balls later lol

In our dreams, we tried to look for eachother, and ended up indeed finding eachother. The next day when we talked about it, our dreams were strikingly similar. Like most of the events matched up, but some were a bit different. Just from that experience, I will say that dream sharing, although unlikely to occur, is POSSIBLE.

So strange, the past week (no joke) I have non-lucidly dreamt about this one girl from my school. She hasnt been in any of my classes since 2 years ago, and I never really found her THAT attractive. She's cute and all, but not like OMG SHE IS SO HOOOOOT. Anyway, for literally the past 7 nights I have dreamt about her, and now I can't stop thinking about her. So I decided it must be my subconscious telling me that I actually do like her. So, using that as my inspiration, I got her number and we've been getting to know eachother a lot more through Skype, Facebook, and texting one another. Turns out we even have a few classes together coming up after our winter break is over. I'm excited that I will finally get to spend time with her in a class again ^_^. This whole new relationship of mine developed simply out of one dream, (which led to another....which led to another). Dreams are crazy huh?

LONG POAST AHEAD. I just woke up from this ;) Non-lucid dream Another weirdest non-lucid dream I've ever had. I dunno how I can connect, but yeah. I'll just put in some details. I remember a bulk of the dream was roaming around a dorm which is, weirdly, connected to whatever place I went to in the dream. Here are some of the moments: 1. I was transported to some dark movie theatre. I don't know, I was thinking the school's mini-theatre. I only remembered that I was sitting close to my girl bestfriend and I was resting my head unto her. It was like we were a couple, laughing and teasing each other. 2. I was transported to a large bleacher (very large one) overlooking a river. I remember my sock being thrown to the water. I asked somebody to get it for me, as it sank. I remember seeing my 2nd year Algebra teacher laughing as she went towards the sock. As went near the "shoreline", I was surprise how it was at below knee-level, but looked so deep. I got to retrieve my sock. 3. The dream was concentrated mostly on me finding raffle tickets for something. Idk. All I know was I filled some important info. I remember name, chapter, my signature, description of book, etc (O.o). I got to see a friend who was already in college, surprisingly, he was training in a different sport than in real life. I remember going to the elevators, which is beside some shelves of books or w/e. For some reason, they stopped working when the clocked striked 2. I also some of the friends I went with to China at the elevators. I remember faking some info at the ticket stuff. The tickets were orange. I also remember filling out a wet index card with an unknown girl's name on it. I crossed out the name and filled it with my info. Also, as I went to the "office" of where I was supposed to send the tickets (it was weird, since the way leading to it was the back portion of my present school, which was the Kindergarten), I saw a few friends. There were 2 encounters. 1 encounter where consisting of 4 girls. As they came in view (at that point, I was riding a bicycle or something), they waved. At first I thought they waved at me. When I waved back, they began speaking Japanese and looked to somewhere else (I think they looked at a bird or sth), so I said to myself "Fail". The second encounter was between two people. I knew this 2 were close friends since high school. I overheard them talking in Japanese. I remember hearing "understand" or something. Weird how I got to translate it. I went to the "office" to submit the remaining tickets I have. I remember those in charge telling me that I should cut my hair, that for now, they'll lie about it, but that I should have to cut it. There are about 3-4 of them. 4. The dream ended with me streaming porn on my iPT and going to my house's bathroom. I heard lyrics "I'll be your crying shoulder, I'll be your lover's suicide..." It was weird, since the dorm was very huge. O.o Then I recorded this, then got sent back to my room for waking up on 4:30am

So last night, I found going into SP pretty easy, I got the REM and I couldn't feel the rest of my body much apart from my mind, but I didn't know what to do next, I mean, I was still counting, I saw it go brighter with my eyes closed, but I got a bit excited and it kinda died down, I lay there for ages, I was still in SP, but nothing was happening, what do I do? SP really worked and helped though, like, I remembered all of my dreams clearly and what happened, which is rare for me, there was girl in my dream, is there any way to go back and visit/talk to her again through lucid? Well, I wasn't lucid then I don't think.. But, I couldn't "build" the dream, nothing was happening as I way laying there? Is there something I'm missing? Am I supposed to sleep after in SP? Thanks ^^.

With the addition of your "1st love", it makes the dream much more interesting. Not really sure, but perhaps it is your subconscious thinking about (no, perhaps missing) your old girlfriend. Let me know if you think differently.
LONG POAST AHEAD. I just woke up from this ;) .... Then I recorded this, then got sent back to my room for waking up on 4:30am
That is amazing that you remembered all of that. Again, everyone should use a Dream Journal, and if your dream recall is this good, then a dream journal would be EXTREMELY beneficial. I dont really think I can interpret this dream, because it seems you have somewhat interpreted it for yourself. I do like to hear everyone's dreams though, so if anyone else understands their dreams, but just wants to post, feel free ^^. Chris, if you practice how to WILD or do another Lucid Dream Technique, and when you succeed and get good, I'm certain you can have more dreams like this. Plus, you would be able to control the situation if you wish. [QUOTE=Remorse wrote: So last night, I found going into SP pretty easy, ... Thanks ^^.
Glad to hear that SP worked for you ^^. When you said that you saw it go brighter, that is a really good sign! But like you said, you got excited and it died down. Being excited in a dream EXTREMELY raises your chance of waking up. And it seems that since you are trying the WILD technique, like I said in my tutorial, stay calm and not being excited is crucial. Yes, it is entirely possible to talk/visit with the girl in your dream. Once you get good and WILDing and successfully entering a lucid dream, that is when you can work on building stuff and manipulating your surroundings. Until you can WILD extremely well, it will be much harder to have a dream control - lucid dream. Remember, just because you are lucid, doesnt mean that you are guaranteed to become the God of your dreams. It takes practice to WILD, then even more practice to control your dream. I will release a tutorial about dream control in the near future. So, remorse, my tip to you is to keep practicing the WILD process. Since you got to SP easily, you have an advantage among other novice dreamers. Getting to SP is half the battle. Just try until you see the bright hypnagogic imagery (see tutorial). When you get there, try to go into the light. Trust me, it doesnt mean you're dead . Any more questions or comments, let me know! I like to hear feedback. ATTN. Dr. Sigmund Freud did a study about the human subconscious, and his results were that those faces that you don't realize, are actually faces that you have seen at one point. Your example of the mall would be valid ^^.

I had a vivid dream last night. But i didnt write it down right after i woke up. Ill try to remember. I remember being in the car getting drivin on a stormy black night. Every thing seemed very dark and colourless. Ma was driving. We stopped at the top of this cliff with some old farm fences and a cabin. There was ocean and rocks at the bottom of the cliff. We got out. My mom said this was where terry fox started his marathon, at this beach ball. The beach ball was slightly coloured. Then we walked over to this plaque sticking up from the ground. I could not read it. It was very dark and i felt like everything was blurry. I tried to read it and couldnt. My mom asked if i could see something in the distance, i saw just blackness in the distance. Then we started walking towards this cabin. I went inside. My mom was gone. There was a man inside. Some how i knew something bad happened to her. We ended up at the bottom of the cliff. There were big rocks everywhere and there was a small warehouse. We went in and everything was colored. We fought this monster/human thing. Then suddenly i was viewing my dream like i was not there but just watching through a camera. The monster/human died by getting stabbed or something and blood squirted all over what used to be me, who was now a worm type thing. Then the man who led me to the warehouse said, your mom is probably dead. Lets get her intestines and leave. So he suddenly had some bloody intestines and held it out the the worm thing. Then i woke up i think from my alarm. Very weird dream.... I have had odd things dreams like this before where someone dies gruesomely :/ Freaky.

I suppose it's time I started posting in this thread. I've been attempting lucid dreaming with KC's information and help and as of now i haven't attained lucidity because I've only been trying it for around a month. I've been working on remembering my dreams and that has been very successful. Normally I have multiple dreams a night and I'm also normally able to remember details from each one. I tried something different last night. Before going to bed I flashed through my memories, trying to to stay on one time period for too long. I found it makes you fall asleep fairly quickly. Anyway the result is usually a very random and fun dream. For example last night's dream was about vampires, trains, syringes, portals (from the game Portal), blood, fancy hats, and more blood. It was a really creepy dream because lots of things ended up dying in fountains of blood.

This method does indeed make you fall asleep quickly. I was talking to Colton yesterday and I tried out this method. I wouldn't reccomend this technique if you're trying to WILD. But if you're working on DILD or Dream recall, (or you just want to fall asleep fast), I highly reccommend Colton's memory flash technique.

Oh, trying to WILD, definetely not. However it does lead to creating some pretty radical dreams. And normally given the complexity and randomness of the dreams it is easy to DILD, I would suppose :) MEMORY FLASH!

Dude, Just now, I happened to be drifting to napping, but I have HW to do. Then, I kinda drifted to sleep a bit ( total time of nap is less than 10 seconds) then suddenly I saw someone putting my left hand near a candle ( it was really blurry, so idk if it was a candle. I saw a small source of light, so I assumed it was a candle) i felt in my left ring finger a small rise in temperature, like it got burned, but not so hot to be considered as burn-inducing heat. My hand involuntarily jerked away. Like it flung itself away. Then i woke up. And I'm wide awake. Not a hint of sleepiness in me. For now, at least. All this happened in less than a minute.

is there a tutorial for Colton's memory flash technique?

There isn't really a tutorial. As far as I know I thought of it on my own. Basically it consists of trying to remember important or memorable events in your life. While you're thinking of it, hopefully something from that memory will remind you of another memory. For instance you could be thinking of the time you were having a picnic and saw an apple tree. Then thinking of a tree would remind you of the time you cut wood. Then that could remind you of cutting down a Christmas tree etc etc. The idea is to fill your mind with as many thoughts as you can before sleeping so that your brain can mix them together in a dream. It's hard to sustain and to remain focused but you will fall asleep relatively quickly. I'm still trying it out myself, it's still fairly new, and I will relay more information regarding this matter as I discover it. It's tricky at first, but give it a try, it can lead to produce some pretty random and fun dreams ^_^ The main idea is to relax and jump between different memories, ideally from different time periods. I hope this helped to clear up some confusion. :)

Well I had an awkward dream. I fell asleep in calculus the other day. And when I was dreaming my backpack randomly caught on fire and the class started getting on fire too, nobody noticed for some reason. I tried to put out the flames but nothing worked. Suddenly I noticed I was sitting in the front of the class when I normally sit in the back and realized it was a dream. But then I couldn't get myself to wake up after that >_> I wanted to get back to class cuz it was a lecture. I eventually woke up tho. I'm disappointed that I had to wake up though ._.

So since you said that you realized it was a dream, that means that you became lucid! That sucks that you fell asleep in class though, haha. If that happened at home at night, there would be no reason for you to want to escape the Lucid phase.

I just dreamed that I was in class, and there were a couple kids penspinning, and one of them did a continuous TA that lasted for basically ever and just looked a fan running on his hand or something. He was doing homework with a pen in the other hand. I was trying to say "thumbs up!" or somehow give props but I don't think he saw me. And whats weird is I havent been in school for 6 years or something.

Actually I dont know what the meaning was but at least once a week and sometimes twice, for years and years now, both myself and my wife have variations on the same dream: We're registered in a class, but its the end of the semester, and we haven't done any of the class work all semester long, and am about to fail the final and therefore the class. I think the interpretation is from stress from way back then, but why is it still happening? The thought is always "I need this class to graduate and I"m going to fail it" and its not until I wake up that I realize I already am out of school.

That is so odd, but like you said, its probably just from the stress. However, its really odd that you dream about it once/twice a week

So I got an entry that I sort of want to continue, and maybe ask for some advice.
About a month ago, I had a week where I dreamt about this one girl EVERY night. I sort of got to know her 2 years ago, but we never really became close friends. I saw her around school every few weeks or so up until a month ago. Like I said, I dreamt about her consecutively for a week straight (during my XMas Vacation). I decided it must be my subconscious telling me that I should try and get to know her more. So the next day I went on Facebook and sent her a "Hey how's it goin, havent talked to you in a while" message. She returned it pretty much instantly. We kept this up for a few days, and then I asked her for her number so we could text eachother. She gave it to me and we started to text more and more. We played this game on Facebook called Snake, and we had friendly competitions. Then I added her on Skype and we talked on there more and more. We found out we had Spanish together, so we made plans to sit by eachother and work together. Everything seemed great. Then three days before school started back up again, she stopped texting me back and didnt really reply to any more of my Facebook posts. I was sort of concerned, but didnt really pay much attn. to it because it was only one day. However this behavior continued and she didnt get back to me. School began a few days later. When I arrived in Spanish I was super excited because I got to see her. The bell rang and she came in tardy. Unfortunately, many of the seats were taken, so she sat on the far end of the class, far away from me. She didnt even acknowledge me really. This behavior continued for weeks, and nothing more than the occasional "Hi!" or "What was the homework last night". Then she said on Facebook she got her texting taken away, so no one text her unless it was an emergency. This occurred about 2 weeks ago. She then got a new phone and told people she would be texting again. I had pretty much given up at this point. But then on Facebook, I posted a status that said "Like this status and I will tell you what I miss about you". She ended up liking it, so I went on her wall and posted "I miss us talking like we used to....text me ^^." She commented "Alright I will!". She hasnt ever gotten back to me.
I don't know if its just a lost cause and should just stop wishing I could be closer to her....idk. Advice?

uhh so i didnt remember many of my dreams for while during the last few weeks of sem 1. It's been week after exams and i finally got some more vivid dreams the past two nights. I guess it's cause i'm getting more sleep. First dream was about a big flood/ rain storm that was like the end of the world, i probably had it cause i wanted a snow day. Second was a killer was trying to murder me and some other people. It was pretty crazy. Oh and i'm just wonder if there are things you do before you go to bed that effect your dreams or w.e. I usually read a book, but some times i play with some magnets, or watch psing vids on my ipod.

IDK if this is ok, but i just need insight. Just now, I was about to drift to sleep. As I slowly slept into slumber ( I was actually so drowsy, so it was easy), I immediately dreamed of something falling down. Like a plate or something. A silent dream. The dream was too blurry for me to remember. I think it was a still camera view, and there was a chasing scene. After it fell, a few milliseconds later, I was jolted awake by a rather dull paon on my index, like the object fell on my fingers. This was accompanied with a sort of electrical feeling, like how you feel when your hand gets burnt, or you get electrocuted for a few milliseconds.

dang...last night i dreamed that i was like in a rebel group or something / criminal organization...we were talking about something while waiting for the ammos and guns to arrive...when the firearms arrived, I got one m16, then we went to some other safehouse and had a shootout with someone...then I had this fight with some guy who was good in throwing knives....he threw like 2 in a second so I needed to hide against a wall...I tried to catch it cuz the knives went slow mo(o_O)...but still failed and got wounded...after maybe 2 mins he ran out of knives, then I picked up one of the knives he was throwing at me on the floor, and I stabbed him in his stomach, then sliced it up to his upper body...(similar to voltes v) then i woke up...it was stupid though since idk why i used one of the knives on the floor...I was holding an m16 i think it means that i shouldn't rely on knives much, because even if i have a lot of knives, my enemy would be able to steal it from me and use it against me. Yes, I bring a butterfly knife everywhere I go except malls w/ metal detectors, but sometimes those metal detectors dont even detect my knife

So I was just informed about this Lucid Dreaming App: http://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/dreams-controller/id387586960?mt=8# Its called: "Dreams Controller" I think. It seems pretty cool. For $1.00 USD, you simply input the time frame you will be asleep from, and it will periodically ask you "Are you Dreaming" during your sleep. This may cause a reality check to occur, and lead to lucidity. Here's my opinion about this app: PROS: Cheap (1 dollar I think), good for DILDs because you may become lucid, automatically gives you alerts in your dreams. CONS: Cant use this app for WILDing, because you will already enter the dream lucidly, so there would be no point. Another con is that you have to sleep with headphones on, which I personally cannot do. OVERALL OPINION: I say you should try this app out if you seriously want to become good at Lucid Dreaming. Just remember that you will have to sleep with headphones in, and the app will be useless if you are trying to WILD, but it will be EXCELLENT for DILDing.

CGB, tried that and the result was what I posted above. And it also resulted to a tangle of earphones and a spam of push notifications. :/ and...drool. .____. I'll just try to master WILD. Edit: you can't really hear the sounds UNLESS it is supposed to be heard subconsciously, which I really didn't hear in the dream. However, it improved "sound quality" of my dreams.

I was on the Dreamviews forum, and I asked them about this app. A few tried it out and reported that you can actually hear it, but you REALLY hear it during the dream. I still would reccomend everyone use the WILD technique, but if DILD just is your thing, then feel free to use this app to help you.

I did not buy the app, because I do not need to use it in order to lucid dream, but the people on Dreamviews said it is just a voice that you will recognize in your dream as not your own.

Right, what a strange night... I woke up in the morning, I wanted to get more sleep but was finding it difficult, I ended up thinking about things and sorta dozed off.. In my dream (or the 2 others), I felt I had complete control, for some reason I looked at my phone in the dream and realized it had two screens and thought "hey this is strange, maybe it isn't real..?" for the first time in my life, I did reality checks in all 3 of my dreams such as smacking people, seeing their reactions, looking at a board that said "remose" instead of "remorse" and nobody would write "Remorse" on a board anyway, and I could climb walls and do things impossible IRL.. In my dream I tried to tell the other people whom I was interacting with, I was saying how it wasn't real, they were questioning my statements, and I said something along the lines of "it's my dream, you can't do anything, I control everything here", I walked outside, and felt that my brain hadn't thought this far, and feared it would fall apart, to my expectations it did, but I thought back to what CGB said, to try spinning, so I did, and before my eyes, in the strangest manner my dream had rebuilt itself into another dream. I did NOT enter SP which is very strange, it felt half WILD and half DILD.. and Note that I hadn't practiced this is a long while, I kinda lost motivation, and suddenly it happened..

Hahahaha, that sucks. Yeah, when you look in the mirror, often times, you will not see yourself, or you will see someone completely different. If this doesnt wake you up right away, a reality check usually will

hey hey question for lucid dreaming masters... once you master lucid dreaming, will it feel real? i mean as in when you are in a dream, its crystal clear, and feels so real, like when you go to some place its normal? not blurry with no people or something? cuz idk if i am having lucid dreams, i feel everything, everything feels real but somehow i realize its a dream because it looks like a dream.. i mean like, you know how a dream is, right? you automatically know it is a dream, but if you master lucid, will it feel like reality?

this is a very good set of questions. For me, yes, it feels incredibly real. I honestly cannot tell the difference between reality and dream if it is a DILD or a non-lucid dream. The only differences for me is the fact that I cannot feel pain nor exhaustion in my dreams. Therefore, one of my reality checks is "pinch myself (I must be dreaming)." When one masters the power to lucid dream, it will feel as it does now in the real world. Everything will feel real. Everything will have a texture, sound, taste etc.

So last night I wasn't able to fall asleep until 1 AM. I woke up at 7 AM and slept terribly those six hours anyway. During that, I had one dream, it only lasted about 10 seconds. It wasn't important. I recently woke up from a three hour nap I just took and recalled five separate dreams. The longest one took (in the dream) the course of a day while one of the others was merely a few seconds and a feeling associated with a place I've been.

NICE! I got to talk to you about this! I had many dreams like this as well. The longest for me (in a dream) was literally the course of 2 days. In my dream, I woke up, lived out a day, went to sleep, woke up again, lived out a day, went to sleep, AND THEN woke up in real life....SO WEIRD!

Play this song while reading. I've wondered many times what life would be like for everyone after I've died, but this wasn't a thought, it was a dream. To start, I never existed. I was never born, or conceived. The mere thought of me was impossible. Throughout the dream I was looking at the people that I held close and witnessed their lives without me in them. My friends, family members... everybody. The first person I watched was a good friend of mine who I will name 1. I watched 1 grow up to present day (now) and s/he was much happier than I had ever seen him/her. I noticed all the things that we did together, s/he never did because I wasn't around. Instead, they found better things to do, and made better friends. The next people I witnessed were my parents. Because I had never been born, my father continued his studies as an Electrical Engineer and became one, because he had the time. The only person he had to support was my mom. My mom also continued going to school and became an English major. As years passed, my parents had very successful careers and made enough money to buy themselves a magnificent house. They had only one child. Because of my parents' success, my Uncle became a business man and eventually owned and coached an international soccer team. My aunt became a lawyer. My friends had never met me and because of this, all of them were actually better off without me. They had much happier lives, and because I was never real, I never mattered. As I witnessed these events, I tried my best to lash out and scream and get them to look at me. I screamed, but I had no voice. I tried to embrace them, but I had no arms. I felt helpless and alone because nobody knew who I was, and never would know. I mourned to live because I wanted to love my friends and family, but there was nothing I could do about it. Then I realized, why would I want to live? If I'm alive, all the happiness would be taken away from them. I wouldn't ever do that to anybody close to me. Everyone is obviously better off without me, and I would never strip them of their happiness. So while life went on for everyone else, I just watched from the sidelines. Everything was great. Just the way things should have been.

That is really deep. I have never had any dreams like that before. But don't think that all of their happiness would be taken away from them with your existence. Instead, think of all the joy that you brought your significant others over the years that you have known them. No see, I don't make an impact on the world but instead it would be on the people close to me, like friends and family. The only way to figure out if I actually made a difference would be to compare the two worlds side by side, but since that is impossible, we don't know for sure.

i had a dream where i was a COD multiplayer bro, but we were playing some nonexistent game type where one person has to carry a big box and protect it somewhere but you cant use your gun when youre carrying the box. so i carried the box up like 3 flights of stairs, then put it down and i was watching the stairs when a teammate told me to turn around, and there were two ninjas in the window. i shot one of them with my gun, then the other one knocked it out of my hand with a throwing star, so i ran up to him and he threw some dice at me, and they exploded. so then he started throwing a bunch of ninja stuff at me (knives, stars etc), but i caught a knife and threw it back at him. then the time limit ran out, and since the other team hadnt destroyed the box, we won.

New topic of conversation that is always fun to hear about is: Pain in dreams. Who experiences it? Does the feeling carry over from the dream when you wake up? Does it merely occur in the dreamstate? I, myself, do not feel pain in dreams, therefore, this is a really good reality check for me.

A couple of nights ago, I had a dream. I happened to remember this dream after I woke up. It's not anything special, but its got a recurring theme in it that I would like you to figure out. I'm not going to tell you what it is, I'm not going to give you any hints, this is all you. Think about it as trying to find Waldo, but in text. I was at a party. I don't know why, but I just was. It was a big party, and boy was I having the time of my life. I didn't know anybody there, every face was unfamiliar to me. Even though I didn't recognize anyone, that didn't stop me from getting to know the women. I was being very friendly with them, so friendly in fact, I was hooking up with them left and right. That's right. I was, I guess you could say, being a whore. I would find a girl, talk to her, and soon enough, we got to know each other through other, more physical means. Once I felt I had enough, I left her and would move on to the next girl. I did this for hours, and the entire time I was drinking, and drinking, while getting progressively more intoxicated as the time passed by. I drank a lot, and the effects seemed to have little to no effect on me, but I was getting drunk. Eventually my "whoring" came to an end. I had come across this girl who didn't want to hook up with me. It surprised me because so far I had managed to get with almost every single girl, and it was astonishing that my "streak" had ended abruptly. I wanted to keep going though, I was having too much fun and I didn't want it to stop. So I kept talking to her, but my words were taking me nowhere. No matter what I would do, she would deny me. The only reason I kept going at it was because she was teasing me, as if eventually she would give in, but she didn't. Plus, there was something about her that I liked, something that I saw differently in her than I did in the other girls I was with earlier. Soon enough, I was talking to her because I actually wanted to get to know her, not because I wanted to do other things. We talked the rest of the night and when the party ended, I walked her home. We talked more, laughed... it all felt so surreal (oh the irony). When it was time to say goodbye, she gave me a kiss and said, "This is something to remember me by..." With that, we parted ways and I never saw her again after that. She didn't even leave me with a phone number so that I could talk to her, something that I would have gladly taken. If I could go back to that night, I would. There was just, something about this girl...

i experience pain very realistically in dreams. for example, ive never broken a bone, but in a dream i had, i broke my leg, and it was the most ridiculously painful thing ive ever experienced. then in another one, a ninja hit me in the chest with a throwing star. that sucked too. a lot.

Let me explain, (I am trying to find Waldo :p). I am going to infer that in a lot of your dreams, you "get familiar" with many girls, however when you find one that isn't attracted to you, this attracts you more. First, it is just about looks, but then you discover you truly like them as a person. It's funny, because thats how it works in real life too (sometimes). I know that has happened to me. Now, a second guess that I will make, is that you drink a lot in your dreams, hahah. Its one or the other, ... I hope ^^. [QUOTE=browndog12 wrote: i experience pain very realistically in dreams. for example, ive never broken a bone, but in a dream i had, i broke my leg, and it was the most ridiculously painful thing ive ever experienced. then in another one, a ninja hit me in the chest with a throwing star. that sucked too. a lot.
It sounds like you experience the same feeling that Neotoma has, among others. I really don't like to think about what it would be like to feel pain in dreams, because I am getting shot (stabbed, cut, etc) a lot in my fighting dreams :p. Pinching myself is MY reality check, however, if I felt pain, it would be useless. Any one else? I love to interpret dreams ^^

Also, I have a few questions: 1) How long did it take you guys to get your first lucid? 2) How long do they usually last for, or should i say how long do they feel like they last for? 3) And last, do you usually feel refreshed in the morning, I mean does it feel any different than if you didn't have a lucid dream that night? Thanks! ^^ EDIT: And also, should i start making a habit of constantly checking the clock, to check if im in a dream or not? I read somewhere that if you make a habit of checking if you're in a dream or not, you'll be able to check if you're in a dream while you're in the dream. So, well, should I?

As to pain in dreams, I've felt it a few times. It's nothing big though, primarily burning my hand on a burning pan or being punched in the arm. Thankfully, oddly, my subconscious does not allow me to undergo anything that would be excruciatingly painful. If I'm about to die for instance, I will simply wake up or the dream will end. If it is a something I could possibly avoid, such as a threat as to something that is going to happen, normally this is when I realize I am dreaming. It's interesting, however upon realizing that I'm dreaming, every time it has happened, the dream has either ended or 'broken'. If I realize i'm dreaming, all the actions and events going on in my dream sort of slow down and eventually stop altogether. The dream then usually 'shatters' it breaks apart into many different pieces and I am sent into another dream. This has happened twice, once said dream was a dream within a dream, and the other, more recent time, was a dream in a dream in a dream o.o; In an answer to your question, WhatsOfTheUp1, I've been working on dreams for about two and a half months. I'm almost there. It varies though.

    1) How long did it take you guys to get your first lucid? it took me, once I started to try DILD and WILD, only a few days for my first one. However, I think it was just luck. It took me a good 2-3 mos. before I could do it consistently. It took me another 3 mos. or so to master Dream Control, (completely different and harder than simply to be lucid) 2) How long do they usually last for, or should i say how long do they feel like they last for? my longest lucid dream lasted the course of (in my dream) 2 days. I woke up (in the dream), lived out a day, went to sleep, woke up again, lived out another day, and then woke up for realz. That is my record. On average, my dreams last anywhere from 2 mins. - 1 or 2 hours. 3) And last, do you usually feel refreshed in the morning, I mean does it feel any different than if you didn't have a lucid dream that night? i still feel completely refreshed. I think this is due to the fact that you're still sleeping, despite the fact that you are lucid. I see it as, you are already going to dream everynight, so why not intervene and direct your dreams once in a while. 4) should i start making a habit of constantly checking the clock, to check if im in a dream or not? I read somewhere that if you make a habit of checking if you're in a dream or not, you'll be able to check if you're in a dream while you're in the dream. So, well, should I? Yes you should. Most people start with the DILD technique. The main part of the DILD technique is that you do reality checks A LOT in real life. Thereby, in a dream, you may do a reality check, and find out that you are in fact dreaming. However, I find it easier to avoid the DILD technique, and instead, execute the WILD technique, which I have a tutorial for on my profile, under the lucid dreaming tab.

That is so odd how your dream will simply shatter. I have never experienced that before. And in response to your dream within a dream within a dream.....SCREW YOU! Hahaha, I have never been able to sucessfully get 3 levels into a dream.

So would you recommend WILD or DILD to a complete beginner with no experience at all? And which one is generally harder, WILD or DILD?

DILD is a somewhat random occurance. WILDing is something more concrete but it requires a lot of concentration and practice. Doing reality checks during the day and building up your ability to remember dreams would make DILD easier. WILD is something that requires lots of trial and error. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Again, last night was similar to the night before last. I woke up once and recorded 6 dreams during the night. My dreams are becoming more and more lifelike. I'm able to notice more of the surrounds and have been able to feel sensory details more. Given the high amount of abnormalities and improbable situations in my dreams, this is making me more inclined to DILD. On one such occasion I 'felt' that the dream was about to break after I realized I was dreaming. Somehow I was able to keep the dream going, but in my exertion I lost my awareness of the dream. It's still progress though.

WhatsOfTheUp1;69666]So would you recommend WILD or DILD to a complete beginner with no experience at all? And which one is generally harder, WILD or DILD?
I completely concur with what PoV said. DILD is much more random, because it requires you to do a reality check, out of habit. WILD requires practice and being able to concentrate when falling asleep. For complete beginners, I dont recommend either of these. Instead I recommend simply keeping a dream journal, and improve your dream recall ability. Also, if you have a digital watch this is very easy, do reality checks often during the day; this will make DILD much easier when you are attempting to DILD or WILD. Until your dream recall is very good (ie you recall at least one dream, every one to two nights), I wouldnt recommend trying the other techniques, simply because, you might be able to be lucid, however, you might not remember the dream that you had! That would really suck haha. [QUOTE=PillarsOfValhalla wrote: Again, last night was similar to the night before last. I woke up once and recorded 6 dreams during the night. Keep up the good work! I am extremely jealous of the fact that you can have 6+ dreams consistently hahah. DILD definitely sounds like the technique for you!

mmkay, so i just started DILD practice. like, wednesday. and i had a lucid dream wed. night. so fucking lucky. i would never use the WILD technique. ive been in sleep paralysis once before, and it was scarier than that haunted house when i was 5. also, i have night terrors, which are the exact opposite of sleep paralysis. your body is awake and is recieving stimulation while your mind is still asleep. so your mind exaggerates every movement and sound and feeling and it feels like your brain just flipped inside out. it sucks. If I feel pain, I am awake. However, I'm not sure if this works 100% of the time, as some others report being able to feel pain in dreams....that would suck! But another check you can do is to look at a clock (really helpful if you're like me and always wearing a watch). Look at a clock, then look away, and look back. If you are in a dream, chances are the time has changed, because your mind doesnt have to worry about being 100% right on the time, as long as there is a clock. Alright, had a week of non-lucid dreams. Just didnt feel like WILDing, and for some reason, no DILD's occurred either. Although it wasnt as fun as lucid dreaming, normal dreaming is pretty fun too. It must be because I am used to the total control, to have no control was refreshing. HOWEVER, I still am a firm believer that lucid dreaming > normal dreaming. +1 to the Dreamers!

Has there been a dream you dreamt where reality was opened before your eyes? Well, not directly, but it seems so. Here it is: Hmmm...another dream. Wheee...I forget easily. The latest I can remember is that, I was approaching a building in the school which was not built. I saw a check along with "Indian" money on it, I picked it up and showed it to some Indian mother who passed by from Kindergarten and asked if it was hers. She took it suspiciously. Later, I knocked on the door of the unbuilt building, looking for someone in particular. He was there, but he didn't want to see me I remember one of my classmates Kenneth being there or sth. I then saw in my hand my empty coin mill without the cap. (I remember dashing around the school, and emptying it on the classroom) and then I sped towards the classroom, hoping they would not steal the money. Just in time I saw someone, I think Michael, touching my money but then he walked away. What surprised me is that Alyssa suddenly took about 150Php then was all like "Heck yeah!" I raged (surprisingly with another voice) at her because I saved those for my endeavors. Then Jaira chimed in that Alyssa should give it back. Then I fixed my bag and brought my wallet with me and went down the stairs, mumbling about how it was all over. I went back to the unbuilt building. I remember eating lunch. After a few minutes, the bell rang, and I went back to the classroom. As I approached my classroom, the whole hallway was deserted. I turned to the classroom and saw Darlene and Christelle were late as well, and that the blackboard was on the right part of the room. The teacher let us in. I saw Paolo near the doorway. They were discussing some unknown concept on Math, like finding what method to use to solve that problem. O.o I realized I had my P.E. uniform, Alyssa had her school uniform on, but for some reason, the others wore normal clothing. That's what I can remember. Just today, I was told by my two friends that Alyssa was just using all of her friends including me for her pleasure.

I should have done one though >.<, cause i was in my dream but it seemed like the right side of what i was seeing was real for some reason, like, i saw someone talking on a phone, so i thought i was awake and dreaming at the same time. bleh, so that throwed me off, and i guess i stopped realizing it was a dream. Hard to explain.... it was like i was dreaming, but could kinda see through my eye lids, even though clearly it was a dream. But at least i finally did it again after so long. Weird shit just happened. I only remembered parts of it. School: - my girl bestfriend was about to cry about something and so I comforted her and we brought our heads close to each other. - I held hands with a girl whom I knew about weeks ago that she had a crush on me. And she was smiling. - I was carrying my guitar and some other stuff and then going back and forth walking on one block at 5:00-5:30pm - Someone tossed me a waterjug and told me that it was from Mika and that they reminded me of something as well that Mika (a freshmen) gave to me. But when I looked at the name, it was Micah (another freshmen) Somewhere: - I met an old friend of mine in a mall escalator. O.o Weird shit: - One soldier in Halo armor was battling another soldier, then suddenly, the other soldier transformed into one of those huge mechs in starwars (I forgot the name), then later they got to a room of sand, but it was cold there. The mech suddenly got hold of the Halo soldier and began tossing him up and down and out of nowhere, I came in and beated the huge mech with my bare hands. And that's where I woke up. I think there were tons of stuff in between, but these were the most memorable. Also, a few days ago, I had a dream where near the end of the dream. I was eating p****. O.o then I was just about to put it in when I woke up. = = weird stuff, really. I did a double take because at one point it felt real.

FINALLY HAD MY FIRST EVER SUCCESSFUL LUCID DREAMING! this happened like last week...I dreamed that we were in the school theater, and we were all 3rd grades and all of us were in our correct sections that time(still remember the sections of some of my friends). I looked around and everyone looked like how they looked back in 3rd grade. I was wondering why everything felt real, I tried jumping, punching, and I was weak, I couldn't jump as high too. I tried flying and it never worked, and everything really felt so real, everyone sounded like kids, etc, I was so happy at that time because I thought that finally I could fix my life! idk it just felt so real....I woke up because the maid knocked to wake me up telling me it was 3 in the afternoon lol....so sad that it had to end..T_T

WORST dream I had...1st scene was there was this guy who brought me to a marlon brando & james dean museum w/ all the stuff they wore...their leather jacket, boots, gloves, even their motorcycles, caps, etc. posters of them etc, then went we went out of the museum, I was not myself anymore, I lived out a day as my idol lol then I went back to our condo, I told my maid I'll just go back for the girl I love(?????) then when I went back to our condo, along the hallway there was this creepy kid asking for help, idk who he is so I pushed him aside and then he clinged at me and said there was blood...I didn't know what to do so I asked the help of my maid and we checked their condo unit and WTF we saw his father stabbing his mom multiple times so we ran fast to our condo unit but the screen took so long to close so the kids dad slashed my maid and my sister who was getting in the way. Damn...I tried my best to wake up...felt so REAL...when I woke up I was perspiring and panting LOL I think it's time for me to learn mma lmfao I'd probably die early if I don't learn to defend myself lol or I should get target shooting lessons and never leave my butterfly knife at home -_-

If you get less than 6 hours of sleep per night, and you DO want to try to lucid dream, then wait until you're UBER tired and ready for bed, and then try the WILD technique. WILDing is MUCH easier when you are super tired compared to when you're just going to sleep at your normal time (although no matter what your situation, WILDing is always possible).

So I had a lucid dream this morning. My past ones were short and I hadn't LD'd for around a year. Lately I've been on the sub-reddit LucidDreaming and I think that helped me a lot (tips, motivation, reminded me to RC, etc...). I started doing RCs frequently and keeping a dream journal around April 14th. In my dream I was in my room with an old friend. He showed me a ton of pens that I ordered (yes I dream about pen spinning sometimes O.o) and I realized that it was impossible because I had never ordered any pens. I did some RCs (counting fingers, trying to breath with my mouth and nose closed, rubbing fingers) and realized it was a dream. I felt the dream fading and I spun and looked up (technique to make the dream vivid/stay in dream). This worked so then I went down stairs and asked my mom if I was LDing and she said yes. I went out side did some more spins. I flew a bit and changed my environment too all while taking a girl with me -._-.! My dream ended when I rubbed one of my eyes. I find that when I close my eyes in the dream I start to wake up. The spinning while looking up worked really well for me.

@Tentcell You should seriously not give up. It's worth every effort. Right, well first you have to be able to remember your dreams :p. You can do this easily by having a dream journal and instantly after waking up, write down everything you can remember. It has to be as soon as possible after you wake up though because memories of dreams fade insanely quick. After getting into the habit on that, here is the most simple and a very effective method of having lucid dreams.. SSILD: Sensory induced/initiated lucid dream DILD: Dream induced lucid dream (realising you're in a dream, in the dream) WILD: Wake initiated lucid dream (Goign straight from being awake to being in a lucid dream) RC: Reality check FA: False Awakening (A dream which starts by you waking up) Lucid: Aware (realizing you're in a dream) To do a reality check, pinch your nose and try to breath through your pinched nose. If you can breath through it, you're dreaming. If not, you're in real life.

Senses Initiated Lucid Dream (SSILD) Official Tutorial Background SSILD is a modern lucid dreaming technique. It is easy to learn, highly effective, and produces consistent results over period. I developed this technique in 2011 in order to teach lucid dreaming to fellow dreamers on a Chinese forum. The first written version of the technique was published under the title "太玄功", which literally translates to "A Very Mysterious Technique". This is rather fitting because at the time no one had the faintest idea why it worked. Despite this lack of theory, the feedback on the technique was overwhelmingly positive. Within just a few months we gathered many hundreds of success stories! Building on this initial success, we continued to refine the technique, and it essentially became a collaborated effort among hundreds of people. The tutorial went through a few revisions, and with each version we saw improvements in ease of use and effectiveness. A year later I wrote the first English version of the tutorial and published it on a few lucid dream online forums. This time I chose the name "Senses Initiated Lucid Dream", partly to conform to the unofficial but widely accepted naming convention of LD techniques, and partly due to increased knowledge and understanding gained during the past year. While people on these forums appear more slow to embrace a brand new technique, the result was nonetheless quite promising. Between DreamViews and LD4All, there are more than a hundred success stories recorded in 9 months, within only two threads. Today, SSILD has become one of the most popular LD induction techniques on the Chinese forum, which has grown to host more than 80,000 members. The numbers of success stories are too numerous to count. Another exciting aspect is SSILD's long-term sustainability. Whereas many techniques appear to become less effective over period as the users' initial enthusiasm wane, SSILD delivers consistent performance, turning novices to experts, and experts to masters. For example, more than a dozen members on my tiny personal forum are able to induce LDs on a daily basis. One of them even logged nearly 500 LDs/OBEs in full detail within less than a year, a remarkable achievement by all means. Design Philosophy SSILD is designed from the ground up to be simple, "idiot-proof" even. It does not utilize advanced techniques such as relaxation and visualization, and stays away from delicate, non-measurable mental exercises. It despises the notion that lucid dreaming is more "art" than "technique". It does not require you to be gifted or creative, in fact, there is little room for improvisation. Just follow the simple steps outlined here and you should be all set. SSILD is made so concise that if you mix in other stuff you may actually end up creating negative impact on its performance. The "Cycle" The core component of SSILD is called a "Cycle". Each cycle consists three steps: Focus on Sight: Close your eyes and pay attention to the darkness behind your closed eyelids. Don't strain your eye muscles though. Your eyeballs should be resting, totally relaxed. If you don't see anything that's only normal. Do not attempt to spot visuals by moving your eyes around. Focus on Hearing: Further relax your eyes and shift your attention to your ears. If the room is quiet enough you might be able to hear some noise inside your head or the sound of your heartbeat. However, if you can't hear anything it is okay to listen to external sounds too. Focus on Somesthetic Senses (Touch): Direct your attention to your body. Feel it and see if you spot any unusual sensations such as tingling, heaviness, lightness, spinning sensations, and so on. If nothing like these can be felt, you can also try to feel the weight of the blanket, your heartbeat, temperature of the air, etc. The repeated stimulation on the senses enables SSILD to condition our mind and body into a subtle state that is optimized for lucid dream to occur naturally. We should keep this in mind so we don't make the common mistake of "trying too hard" during the cycles. Beginners usually want to see things, hear things, and feel things. When nothing unusual happens they become discouraged or even desperate. Avoid this mistake at all cost! One should not expect to experience anything phenomenal during the Cycle. In fact, it is better to expect NOTHING at all will happen. The Steps 1. Go to bed early, preferably before 11pm. Set your alarm to wake up after 4 or 5 hours. 2. Get out of bed and stay awake for 5-10 minutes. I suggest you visit the bathroom, rinse your mouth, and walk around or stretch a little bit. Try not to become too awake though. 3. Return to bed and lie down in a comfortable position, preferably different from the one you usually use. This is to prevent you from falling into sleep prematurely. However, if you are the type of person who requires extra effort to fall asleep, you may want to use the usual position instead. 4. Perform the "Cycle" quickly, repeat 4-6 times. This serves as a warm-up exercise so each step should be very short, a few seconds should be sufficient. 5. Perform the "Cycle" slowly, repeat 3-4 times. This step is the most important one. You should take extra time during each step. Thanks to step 4, at this point you should have become sufficiently relaxed and you will find focusing on the senses become much easier. For example, your eyes will feel more relaxed, and you may get visuals such as lights, colors, or movements. You might also notice that the external sounds seem to be fading into the background. Do not get excited though. You should observe quietly and after a while move on to other senses. As far as timing goes we are flexible, but in general each step should take no fewer than 30 seconds. During the slow cycles, you may become distracted by a lot of random thoughts. This is a good indication that you are close to falling asleep. Do not try to suppress these thoughts -- they are your friends. Imagine they are gentle waves and let them carry you and wash you away from the shore of reality. You will occasionally become alert and realize you have lost track of your exercise. No worry, just start from the beginning of a cycle and you should be fine. 6. Return to the most comfortable position and allow yourself fall into sleep as quickly as possible. Do not think too much and do not worry if it will work. The quicker you can fall asleep the more likely it will work. Have faith! What happens next One key characteristic of SSILD is that it is neither a WILD nor DILD technique. It is a hybrid. As such, it is important to become familiar with all the possible scenarios so you will maximize your chances. 1. Hypnagogia: when we enter a dream consciously, we often encounter various unusual hypnagogic sensations. These include the sensation of falling, floating, seeing lights and images, hearing sharp noises, and many more. In fact, sometimes you may encounter sensations so strange that they are beyond words. When we encounter these sensations, chances are we are already in a dream, or getting really close. SSILD is known to cause hypnagogia during the Cycles (although this effect should NOT be sought after). It's also not uncommon for you to wake up suddenly while being bombarded by intense hypnagogic sensations. When this happens you should not become excited. Be a passive observer and wait for the sensations to amplify. You could also nudge them a little bit mentally, but do not overdo it. As soon as the sensations become clearly identifiable you should be able to perform a successful reality check and get up. Typically the dream will start from your bedroom because subconsciously that's where you expect you will be. You can also stay in bed longer and use visualization to create a dream scene manually. In any event, it is important for you to stay calm when encountering hypnagogia. Do not speak to yourselves or analyze it mentally as doing so can cause the sensations to fade and eventually wake you up. 2. False Awakening: SSILD is known to cause a lot of FAs. Not any FA, but some super-realistic ones! A typical scenario goes like this -- you finished doing SSILD and fell asleep. Then suddenly you wake up. No lucid dreams, perhaps not even a normal dream! Feeling disappointed you get out of the bed... then you wake up again! It was all but a dream! SSILD's ability to frequently create this type of FAs have been well-documented by now. Therefore, you should definitely develop the habit of performing a reality check upon each awakening after doing SSILD, no matter how convinced you are about your not being in a dream. Another possible scenario is that you slip into sleep during a SSILD cycle, and an FA immediately takes over. When this happens you may suddenly feel awake and it seems you are about to suffer insomnia. Some users complained that SSILD was causing them to lose sleep, only later found out they had been doing SSILD cycles in their dreams! Once you learn to catch these FAs your chance of success will be greatly improved. 3. DILD: When you fall asleep from SSILD, you enter your dreams with heightened awareness. As a result, lucid dreams occur. This is called Dream Initiated Lucid Dream (DILD). With heightened awareness, you may be able to spot oddities in dreams and in turn become lucid. It is also very common for spontaneous lucid dreams to occur -- you suddenly become lucid for no apparent reason. 4. Real Awakening: You wake up again after doing SSILD. You do a reality check and this time it is real. Do not despair. You still have chances. Try to stay still, and immediately relax your head, allowing the back of it to sink into the pillow. Then you need to perform a few extra medium-paced SSILD cycles. At this stage it is quite possible for you to encounter strong hypnagogia sensations. If not, just finish the cycles and go to sleep. You will have a much higher chance to succeed this time. FAQ Q: Can I do SSILD when I go to sleep? A: Yes you can, but it won't work. When you go to bed you typically start with a lot of NREM sleeps which are not ideal for lucid dream to occur. The level of acetylcholine (an important neurotransmitter which is a major driving force for lucid dreams) is also at lower level. Trying to lucid dream with any technique at this stage is a waste of time, even though this is the favorite mistake virtually every beginners make. Q: I'm used to go to bed late or have to get up early, can I still use SSILD? A: I suggest you do SSILD only when you have sufficient time. Even though it does not take up a lot of time to perform, you WILL be losing some sleeps. As such, for people who never get enough sleep, your best bet is to do SSILD at leisure. Q: Can I combine other breathing, meditation, relaxation techniques during or prior to doing SSILD? A: No. As mentioned earlier, SSILD is all about "conditioning". You condition your mind and body to the most optimal state for lucid dream to occur. This state, however, is very delicate. Mixing in other techniques will likely interfere with this state and cause negative impact on SSLID's performance. You're free to create your own routines once you master the technique, but for beginners I expect you to adhere to the instructions in this manual. Q: I get this itch... how am I supposed to stay still? A: You are not supposed to stay still! If you have an itch just scratch it. If you want to roll you roll. With SSILD you need to stay as comfortable as possible! Just do an extra cycle to compensate and you will be fine. This is in fact a major advantage over virtually all other methods. Q: My eyes strain/hurt when focusing on visions... A: Remember, you should NOT expect to see anything, so relax already! Do not strain your eye muscles. Your eyeballs should be resting, if not staying still. Performing a few quick cycles will also help you relax. Q: I can't feel anything when doing the cycles... A: We cannot stress this more -- it is OKAY to not feel anything, and it is WRONG if you actively pursue it and expect things to happen during the cycles. With the cycles you are setting a timer for the bomb to go off. You don't expect a bomb to go off WHILE you are setting the timer do you? Sure, it does go off occasionally... Q: I got insomnia after doing SSILD... A: Actually, performing SSILD correctly is likely to cure your insomnia. There is a remarkable resemblance between SSILD and Betty Erickson's self-hypnosis routine! Now back to the question. We need to first identify if we are taking about "real insomnia" or "false insomnia". Remember, SSILD likes to create these super realistic false awakenings. It is very possible for you to enter an FA while still performing the SSILD cycles. In this case you will be trying to fall asleep while you are already sleeping! Next time you find yourself unable to fall asleep during a cycle, you should definitely perform a reality check, no matter how convinced you are! For people who indeed suffers loss of sleep due to SSILD, I suggest you tweak your routines in two areas: 1. Reduce the amount of sleep before waking up for SSILD. 2. Reduce the time you spend on staying awake prior to the exercise.
If you're a lazy cunt and TL;DR, basically it boils down to waking up after 5 hours of sleep. Getting up and going for a piss, getting a drink and whatnot and then when you get back in bed do the cycles mentioned above. Before you know it, you may be in a dream doing your cycle in your bed or just have a DILD [dream induced lucid dream] because of the increased awareness. It's a crazy method that works very well for some reason. Good luck :)

i love enterpretting my dreams. my belief is that they are the super ego and id submerging to a conscious state because the ego has no need to exist in this state of mind because peer pressure does not exist. If you are unaware of what the id and super ego are then here are two short explanations: id: those dark thoughts that you may or may not be aware of (basically your primal instincts) super ego: keeps the id suppressed because society sees it as 'wrong' (basically your morality) ego: mediator between id and ego to gain pleasure in the best way possible the id and super ego will act upon your memory, be it may recent or old memories. when i interpret my dreams I always take note that everything symbolizes something going on in my real life and how I feel about it. Its best to use holistic thinking (making connections to everything) for dreams. so I had a dream the other night. I was at a lake house and i was spending the week there with this girl that sits in front of me in my math class. Her mother was there as well. I was there to make music with her. I had also lied to her that I knew how to play and read music. Also I had an insane crush on her. She played an acoustic lead guitar while i played an electric base guitar. Although I lied to her about knowing music i was a natural at playing. The dream ended in me and her creating a beautiful song. okay so, this girl. I am attracted to her in real life but only started noticing it when she and the guy next to me started flirting with each other. The obvious relationship between me and her is that i'm jealous that I can't have her. This is an example of the id at work. Its completely instinctual to become jealous in this situation. So that's how she got in to my dream. I lied to her. This can be connected to my real life because sometimes i will lie about something to make myself seem more interesting and sociable at social events. playing the base guitar: i have a guitar in my room but i dont know how to play it. being a natural at it. this relates to my belief that I am a natural at anything i try. her mother being there. no clue about this she and I making music at the end. This is obvious to me because i have been getting lonely recently because i haven't had a girlfriend in a while and I just want a companion to make music with.

Personally I find WILD a lot more difficult and discouraging and you have to wake up in the middle of the night to do WILD anyway because that's basically when your REM sleep is strongest and longest. I've only had one WILD which was last night and completely unintentional. I was so shocked to find out I was dreaming that I lost lucidity right away haha. What a noob. Anyway in terms of least amount of effort, SSILD is the best way to go. Just get up like half way through your sleep for a couple of minutes then do the cycles.

So before I went to sleep, I went on dreamviews.com and was looking at tutorials of how I could lucid dream without having to wake up in the middle of the night. I found one WILD tutorial that said it was possible to do right when going to sleep, but it was much harder to perform, but none the less I tried it out. As I almost fell asleep, I "caught myself" and began to slow my breathing to imitate sleep, and I began to feel my body tingling, which I assume was me entering sleep paralyzes. I was super shocked that I made it that far, and wasn't really focused on relaxing, so I'll try it again tonight.

I had a dream a while ago, it was about my sitting on a large field, with only grass and a few threes. I knew I was dreaming, I could walk though everything. I even did a reality check a few times. I did somehow lost my awareness of time, so it felt like I was there for 7-8 hours, just doing nothing. I tried to control it by thinking about creating dragons. Something impossible. Can somebody tell me if this has anything to do with Lucid dreaming?

If you are aware that you are dreaming then you are lucid, thus you are lucid dreaming. And did you manage to create a dragon? When you are lucid you are able to do a bunch of crazy things in your dreams which can be really fun!

There isn't anything to understand, you either yap about lucid dreams being the greatest thing ever (hint: they are not) or post something you've dreamed, the weirder, the better. Seems like nobody bothers doing interpretation though :| I personally don't care about lucid dreaming, it sounds like a boring idea to me. Why not tap the unlimited creativity you experience day for day in your "normal" dreams and make sure you remember them in excruciating detail? If your creativity is on a sufficient level, you'll end up with more interesting results than if you were to do the Superman. I'll simply call that Vivid Dreaming, because it feels more or less realistic, sometimes even reaching the point of hyper realism and because I'm using early alarm clocks (and notes) to enter the state of me experiencing this dream. A new thread would be better I guess.

I had a weird ass dream last night. I was with a group of friends and there was this socially awkward kid who was with us. I turned to this girl named Kate and told her it would be pretty funny if she took a Swedish fish and put it in the socially awkward kids mouth and slurp it like that one movie with the spaghetti. Then she said why don't you do it, and then I realized that I was lucid. It was just really weird to me because I don't get into lucid dreams often but that was the first time I had that type of entrance into one.
