I noticed that people usually start penspinning around the age of 13-17. I was just wondering when you truly started to even spin a pencil or a pen, not getting into penspinning seriously.

Well I learned TA when I was in 7th grade (13) and learned TA Harmonic by the time I was 14. Just before I turned 15 I met @Storm who inspired me to spin more avidly until where I am today.

I learned in Auschwitz from a roaming Gypsy for 3 rations of bread. I had a pen and he said he would teach me to spin it. The gypsy's name was Breezy and he ended up stealing the pen. I was 13 when I learned, and was able to earn my freedom by beating a guard in a pen spinning battle. I never saw that gypsy again...

I did my first trick (fingerless index around reverse) with a fork. I didn't even know what pen spinning was, I just called it a fork trick. I'm assuming forks count. 12
