Presentation / Long or short mods?

What do you think looks better in collabs long or short mods I prefer long mods like the buster cyl :)

19cm-21cm is what i usually prefer even though my hand is slightly shorter than an MX .__.

I think it depends on your hand type, this isn't only finger length, but thickness as well. If you can spin a short mod well it provides a different experience, that being said seeing a tiny hand spin a relatively long mod is un-appealing in contrast to a large hand spinning something small (well) which is impressive.

Some people look better with longer mods. My hand is about 19cm, but i spin 21cm mods. But IMO. Short mods just don't look good. >>;

depends on hand size. nothing too long and nothing too short. like someone with a 20 cm hand can spin a 22cm mod and it'll look fine. but if the hand is 18 cm that would look odd. Same goes with a large hand but small mod. It looks fine if you spin a 17cm mod with a 19cm hand but not a 22cm hand. Yeah

It all depends on hand size and preference. Although long like mods and really short heavy mods, are not usually very good. A common preference is about 2 or 3 centimeters longer than the hand.

my preference is generally short pens. rushon being longest. i believe a rushon modification is approximately 19.4 cm. i prefer shorter pens simply because it is much closer to realistic pens. that way i don't receive comments like, "wow where did you get that stick?" and such. ok that's not the only reason. another reason would be the fact that longer pens tend to be... much easier to spin. i believe an aspect of pen spinning is the challenge that is introduced through the spinning of harder to spin pens. i believe many mods today are very much removing that obstacle which i find to be discouraging. but that is just my view. please respect that.

check your measurements man i'd say 1-2 cm at most, 3 cm is overkill -

Around 20cm looks good because all the tricks get real smooth. Short mods just don't look good. :)

no actually you don't have to pick a certain length to start with it all depends on the pen's weight + momentum, and your own hands for example an EP comssa with a namae barrel may feel a bit weird considering it's use of a comssa barrel adjusts the momentum further, in a perfect proportion. long and heavy mods such as a bustercyl, has a wider and thick barrel perfectly supports it's weight distribution as long as it's good in momentum, and it doesn't need to be heavy. most of my mods are near 19.5 - 21cm

imo, it easier to learn a trick and doing difficult combo with longer mod, but that looks kinda weird if it's too long. I prefer 18-22 cm

It's all down to personal preference imo. You might think you spinning looks better with long mods, whereas other people will think differently. There will always be people arguing on the 2 different sides of an argument.

Spinning short mods usually shows that you can do tricks with less momentum. Pro. Long mods have much more momentum (and usually weight) and thus are easier to do tricks and power tricks. Less pro.

I don´t think so... imo you could´t compare short/long mod this way. The way you spin it depends on the pen, you´ll never use a mx to do busts and stuff like that. Pens with more momentum/weight are use in 99% to do Skilled combos and pens with less momentum/weight are use in 99% to do combos with "style". -

problem for me is that my hands were 18cm long and a bit thick that's why i have difficulty spinning like toro mx or the like :/

I think big hands, in any aspect, shouldn't spin an MX because it looks very unappealing. The Vicgotgame mod is probably too big for anyones' hands to look a comfortable size, so I think that's a no go (unless it's cut down a bit.) Best size is probably a Metal Comssa or Dr. KT on most hands. Comssa for slightly smaller hands.

i myself spin pens where the length of the pen (EXCLUDING the tips, because they dont show prominently on my camera) is approximately the size of my hand (tip of middle finger to base of palm) i like spinning ep comssa :P

ZT mod. kthnxbai But really, the zt is suitable for small or big hands because it can extend from short -> long. When it comes to the usual, I'd like a mod that has a length in between 19 cm - 21 cm. Dr. KT is good.

I like spinning long mods for more control, but when you're out in an audience, they'll be more impressed to see you are using an average pen, like an Mx, or Mx2.

using 21cm pen really performs well in my hand..but i think :?it depends on the user ..if he/she is comfortable with short pens, then go and spin it.if it doesn't..well..try the long one..

@Explosion101 Any X is a nice mod with 2 profiles and an hgg... or try PrinceXD's any x custom using only 2 profiles. heres a link http://forum.upsb.info/showthread.php?t=4381 obviously an MX is a great beginner pen... you dont have to use the hgg tip. Any metal tip is fine as long as it isnt too much heavier for an intermediate pen a cheat comssa or metallic comssa is good

i like to use long mods, my hand is about 20 cm 0.0 so i usually use a MSXA or something while filming, but in school i use an MX cause it looks like a regular pen

I wouldn't know. my longest mod is 17 cm. Although I notice that people who spin long mods tend to spin faster. I don't know if it's an illusion because of the length or what....

I see a lot of spinners that use long mods seem to look as if they actually spin faster. When I try to do a triangle pass with a drumstick, it looks a lot faster that when I do it with a mod.

Depends on your style, if it`s longer then it looks faster if it`s short then it`s looks like a normal pen used for writing.

My hands are 24 cm, so most mods are short in when I spin them. :( But, I will say that a short mod in a long hand only looks good if there is a good effect. A long mod in a short hand is bad looking always.
