It really depends on what department of research you are in and your project. RD is really a resource and a place for you to work and develop through a system before it is published to the community.

I apologize for reviving this ancient post, but what exactly do Researchers do? Shoeman6 gave it pretty brief but I really didn't understand the concept. thanks anyway shoeman6. What are the departments?

It's kinda dead right now but essentially it's a place to discuss/develop ideas -
