I think I saw the same video, and as far as I understood it is similiar to a passaround/pass 0.5, but you do a complete fingerpass instead of a single pass. greets MM

power pass is essentially: ringaround 0.5 ~ fingerless middlearound 1.0. it starts in 34, and ends in 23, but can be done from/to different locations and the concept can be extended (ex. ringaround 0.5 ~ fl middlearound 0.5 ~ fl indexaround 1.0) <- (added FL IA) it may seem like a series of pass reverses, but the difficulty difference is quite significant.

So ive been trying to do this for so long now, but my ring finger is physically incapable of raising up enough for the fl pass 12-23. Whenever i try to do it, the pen justs hits my ring finger. the thing is, when i bend my middle finger to push the pen into 23, my ring finger is at a little less than 90 degrees to my middle finger, making the pen hit it every time. Any help please?

Oh whoops yeah. Thanks -

@wotu1 I am not sure what you mean by fingerless pass, so I am going to assume you mean pass around rev. (around rev 0.5) in which case your fingers get out of the way as a normal around rev would, so you should learn that first. Then its just a matter of bringing the upper finger to catch the pen half way through the around.

@wotu1 Thats called "power pass" here, I was pretty much describing it, but only for one of the passes, and I was thinking for an upward motion as well, going down makes harder cuz thats not how arounds are performed. I can't actually do it myself, its seems deceptively hard, but I think you're focusing too much on the ring finger, the pen clears it cuz his 12 is bent in towards his palm.

Oh crap thats also part of a powerpass? >.< I always thought that was only ra 0.5 > ma 0.5 Thanks though Ill try not to focus so much on the ring and just focus on the entire thing altogether. But still when i bend my index towards my palm, my ring cant lift high enough for the pen to go through. And what sucks is that i have no idea whatsoever he is saying, so i cant get any help from that tutorial. But still when -

Jamie Enns has a pretty good tutorial. Breakdown should be RA 0.5 34-23~ fl MA 0.5 23-12~ fl IA 12-12> fl MA 0.5 12-23~ fl RA 0.5 23-34. I'm not very sure if a complete Powerpass ends in 34 or not.

Apparently there's one beginning from index around? And there's one beginning from middle around? EDIT: Just found a tutorial from fel2fram. It explains the 8 main powerpasses as the title suggests.

Nice, thanks for the tutorial. I'm still learning powerpass >_< My index finger and middle finger tend to "open" up from the fist position when the pen is at the ring finger. -

try to balance the pen on your index right after a ta, then slowly close your hand while pushing it with the previous finger your pen was on. That helped me quite a lot 300th post.PS-Addict :D

Made a slow-mo of the powerpass reverse as there doesn't seem to be any floating around. Let me know if that's the wrong name for this powerpass.

Powerpasses are just fingerless passes. Think of it this way, you're using only one finger that each curl inward/flare outward as the pen rotates/falls down your hand. Below is an old vid of mine. @Advecticity That's a regular powerpass. Power pass reverse is going upward and a lot harder. I thought it was switch spreads so my bad.... :P

So, is there a difference between a powerpass (as in a singular finger slot to finger slot movement) and Powerpasses (as in, the start at 34 and end at 34) in the same way that a single pass differs from the Finger Pass mini combo that involves all four passes? Basically, if I were to perform an Index Around > Fingerless Middle Around 0.5 and end in 34 would you say I've done a power pass within the linkage? I'm not even sure that makes sense but hopefully someone gets what I mean.

as everyone knows. =D

PowerPass is difficult for me. I am stuck with the Part where you had to push the Middle Finger down and the Index Finger still supporting the pen. I find it hard to push the pen around. Is this normal?

sorry if this is considered reviving an old thread, but I need help on this trick and don't know where else to post this. So, whenever i do the power pass (the version shown first in the video above by Utkarsh), the pen always hits my ring finger instead of going into the 23 slot when i get to that part. Is there a technique that i should know, or should i just work on my flexibility to hold my ring finger back so that it doesn't interfere?
-

Try to begin your powerpass in T2, and then when you could do the powerpass from T2 to 34 perfectly, try to begin in T1 and practice.

Hey guys I need help with mirrored powerpass reverse. I got down mirrored powerpass and powerpass but they arent very similar to this. I can't get the mod to get into the last 34 slot and I think it's the flexibility and non-independence of the 34. Help?

If you have ring flexibility problems you can stretch it using stretches, Ktrinh has a video where he demonstrates some of the sinpler Fire@Fox stretches, which I used to get REALLY flexible.
