Is the Active Users tab really necessary when there is a separate box for active users already next to the SB?

well the active user box is for ppl chattin in your current room, while the user tab is for the whole shoutbox but i agree its not very useful

Couldn't there be a simpler/more effective way where each tab had a number beside it displaying how many people were in the channel?

i don't see the disadvantage to current method there are a million possible ways to do it, why is one better than the other

the real advantage of the users sidebar is for private channels, because you can use that bar to manage who has access to your private chat.

because this way you have to actually switch to each tab to see how many people are in the channel, and if there was just a number by each tab it seems like it'd be easier.

it would also consume more resources to poll the exact number of ppl in each room in any case, it can't be done. all thats needed imo is teh flashing tabs.
