Ugh..this is what pisses me off so much. Yes, I do realize he isnt alive anymore, and I am NOT saying that its good he died. What I AM trying to say is: NONE of you knew him personally. ALL you know about him, was that he was a crazyassmofo spinner. THATS IT. You dont know his personal life, his girlfriend's (if he had one) name, his lifestyle, what car drove, how much his parents cared about him. For crying fucking out loud, stop this fanboy shit, and leave him the fuck alone.

I dont quite understand why you are so annoyed by this. We have the right to pay respect to whoever we want to. We also have the right to show enthusiasm towards his spinning, which is what this thread is for. We know enough that bonkura cared about pen spinning in a way that we all hold high. That is reason for many of us pen spinners to pay respect. IF you dont care, or for some reason are highly annoyed by people who admire others for their talent stop reading this thread. Otherwise good luck trying to get rid of all the bonkura fans. RIP bonkura. -

He didn't influence spinning THAT much. IMO, SEVEN influenced modern spinning a lot more. Before SEVEN, most spinners' styles branched off of Korean style [linkages], including bonkura's. In SEVEN's earliest clips, we notice that he isn't very reminiscent of Korean style spinners at all. His inverse shadow/neobak focused style was pretty innovative and original, atleast style-wise. Post April 2008, after he won the offline JEB tournament, also when he started to get popular (around the time SEVEN solo V2 was released), his style changed, but still remained original. He pioneered the whole straight-finger style: jerky TF charges, long nails, etc. IMO this all advanced pen spinning farther away from Korean style, we can see it in spinners like HAL, toro, musashi, etc. Anyways, Bonkura is pretty cool. -

Well... ayatori, key3, ryo and several others did that before him. Still I agree that he influenced penspinning more than bonkura. Same goes for spinnerpeem and pyralux. Today I see a lot more people ripping off these 3 guys. -

Agreed. But you have to realize, he didnt LIVE off penspinning, he was just really good at it.IF you dont care, or for some reason are highly annoyed by people who admire others for their talent stop reading this thread.

Ayatori was the only one out of those whose long nails actually added to the effect, I think key3 and ryo just had them long out of laziness, and some other spinners in Tokyo 1st did too. -
