Hello UPSB, I will be organising this year's UPSB tournament ^^ Similar to UPSB tournament in 2010, this tournament will be conducted with double elimination format (with winners and losers brackets), among the top 16 spinners selected from qualification round. (due to feedback from a number of people concerning 32 spinners total in two 16-people divisions) Please send in your qualification video ([B]maximum length 25 seconds[/B], unreleased material) by [B]23rd June[/B]. Future rounds will have 2 weeks filming and 1 week judging time, similar to WT/WC. Why would (or should) one pen spinning tournament be different to another Sounds a bit silly, but it's a battle of pen spinning, of course they will all be similar, unless you have like a pen spinning world war thing going on. -

@i.suk can you please make this either: a)one big 32 spinner tourney b)do it like 2012; one top bracket and a loser's bracket http://forum.upsb.info/showthread.php?t=8458 c)two different signups for the two brackets, so people's skills dont vary too much on the lower bracket because i dont think last years idea of putting people that came in 17th or 18th to be in the lower bracket worked out too well

I'll do it. If no one minds. Granted i am hosting the Beginner's Tournament. But people have been complaining that the beginner's tournament might interfere with UPSBT. Also i got nothing else to do over the summer. As long as someone helps me when i need it, then i should have no problem. That is if i.suk Does not want to host. lol. Probably speaking out of my league here.

In light of all the delays, the UPSB Tournament Committee have decided to make the following amendments to the tournament schedule: First of all, the judging time will be increased to four weeks in order to give our expert judges time to breakdown, analyse, slomo, make analysis videos for and philosophise on the aesthetics and debate heavily over where style and execution should be included on the judging of difficulty and creativity. Second, in order to compensate for the increased judging time, spinners will now be expected to produce a new combo while judging takes place and post it within 24 hours of results. To prevent spam any spinners that are knocked out and post videos will be banned for a month and excluded from all UPSB or world tournaments. Thirdly, all judges will now be revealed: Mats, a pioneering expert level pen spinner with world level skills, ingenuity and prowess, particularly after his recent(ish) amazing battle victory. Known for battling the likes of VicGotGame and Sekai and submitting videos with extreme punctuality. Eurocracy, who continues on his previous judging efforts from last year, taking the same role of judging-the-same-tournament-he-is-participating-in as before and screaming obscenities with every judgement he makes with utmost professionalism. Steve, the lead judge for the PPP responsible for the amazing judgements that took place during the World Tournament 2013, with legendary analysis of "I think A13x win versus sutomo because the first trick was insane". Dave, the one judge whose job it is to ignore every criteria, write a wall of incomprehensible text in engrish and pick a winner randomly. Known for his past efforts in most tournaments where a judge seems to have completely not understood a thing about pen spinning. Fourth, seeding will be first made with a random number generator, then when complaints appear, judges will then seed the spinners again and claim it was done with discussion, while in reality the names will be put through a random number generator again and posted. This will ensure fair battles and minimal complaints.
