Date: Mon, Sep 9 2013 19:57:07
This is for community registration, NOT spinner registration. Contact your local community for more info on how to make the team. The World Cup 2014 is an international team pen spinning tournament. The goal of the tournament is to determine the team who excels the most in all aspects of pen spinning. The tournament will begin in January and finish in May. If the number of teams is between 8 and 16, there will be a qualification round using collabs in November, as it was done for 2010. The format and rules will be similar to WC2012, except the number of rounds is reduced and more filming time is allocated each round. ----------- How to register Requirements: - Be able to assemble a team of 6, world-class, spinners - Have a manager who is good at English (can be part of team or judge) - Produce a collaboration video for the qualification phase - Provide at least two competent judges, who understand the rules very well - Able to translate the rules for the community IMPORTANT! If your community alone is not able to satisfy these conditions, we invite you to ally yourself with other communities to form a single team. Send your registration to "] with: - List of good spinners with example video links - Number of judges available - Contact information for manager You do not have to form your team during registration. Final lineup is only submitted right before tournament begins. Registration deadline is: November 1st, 2013 (subject to changes) ----------- Information The video deadline for the qualification collab is December 14th, 2013 (14-11-2013). The qualification stage consists of a collaboration video between 3 to 4 minutes per community. The top 8 videos will qualify their team to the World Cup. The combos used in the collab video must be new original material. The tournament starts January 11th, 2014 (11-01-2014). 8 teams will be divided into 2 groups of 4. ----------- Rulebook Draft v1 PDF: http://worldps.org/wc14/files/wc14rules.pdf DOC: http://worldps.org/wc14/files/wc14rules.doc Please translate. ----------- Registered teams VnPSC+THPSC VPC+SGPSC PSH KPDS TWPS HKPSA SPSB LPSA JEB PPP UPSB BRPSB FPSB IPSB GPC/SPSC/BPSC

The transitions [in the doubles] are only a minor element in judging.

The real problem in psing is this. People that think that some random guy will do things to keep this alive, and that this guy will appear from nowhere just by saying "wow ps so dead" or "upsb not in fpsb not in w0t so shet 2007 w4s mach better". I'm saying this in general, not about you @Enkronidus. It looks like i want to kill you lol. Pen spinning is not like football, climbing, biking or yoyoing. There is no big company, moving money and working a lot to keep the sport/activity alive, for their own purposes (moar money). Then, what moves psing forward? people with a lot of time, patience and common sense, with the intent of doing something for the community. If the number of spectators (people doing nothing) grows faster than the number of organizers (people doing something), or as in our case, the second number is decreasing, then the comunity will die. Its as simple as that. So, if you, anonymous reader, want to see big championships in 2020, or even this year, just move your ass and start thinking about what you could do to make this happen. Maybe organizing a tournament, a collab, creating promo videos or compilations, judge combos in tournaments, private teams with amazing showoff videos or public teams to motivate new spinners, tutorials, research departments... or even simpler. Participate in something already organized. The percentage of people that didnt send in european tournament was a shame. The interest in world tournaments is decreasing quite a lot. You could be the one winning next WT. Remember that the last winner was a ~1 year old spinner. And now some people will think "but wait u only say dis and u no participate n anything wut w0t duh bad bad". I should be on that list, with other 5 missing people, but there was a lack of interest by some members... I suppose it is because of that. lof<3 -

Incorrect, non-participating spinners may join the collab, but only the 6 spinners who are selected may compete in WC14. Please share this so that other people can get this cleared up. -

I, as BRPSB's team manager, come here to say that unfortunately, we didnt reach the minimum of spinners to enter the competition. Therefore, we wont be participating this years WC. :( Sorry.

why is 1 week given to send lineups for each round? i...don't think it takes that long to organise, and it makes rounds unnecessarily dragged out/prolonged....
-
Date: Mon, Dec 30 2013 12:44:00
There are always times were you can't contact a spinner for a few days due to holidays/no internet/etc. which makes it difficult to decide the lineup. It's especially hard with so many multi board teams. Just look at it as more practice time for the teams that get their lineups faster.
