    I had a 320gb hdd from my old computer and decided to install ubuntu on it. I didn't like it so I booted into windows and deleted the info on the drive. Now the drive doesn't show up when my computer boots up. How do I make this drive usable again?

    Looks like you competely wiped your harddrive. You need to reinstall a OS on it and then remove [B]ONLY[/B] the surface OS (don't touch the BIOS)

    Can't I just format it in windows or something? I don't wanna go through the pain of unplugging shit

    Is it just not visible at the boot up or also in the windows internal system manager? If it isn't visible at all you might want to look at the HDD specifications. Maybe the SATA set-up got set back to SATA I while you need SATA II or III

    It doesn't allow me to format the disk or anything. Edit: I created a "new simple volume" on the unallocated partition and it formatted the whole thing. I fixed it c:
