Yooo so I have the matchups of round 1. I matched the spinners up randomly as I wasn't sure if they were in order of qualification rank so please don't hate me. I know I've talked to you before, and you seem an ok guy, I just don't exactly like the way you act on forums at times. There's a difference between talking to someone irl and talking to someone through the internet. For all we know, Alex could be an cool guy at the cali gathering. -

Now it appears we could just make a half-assed freestyle and be dependant on the luck of the draw anyway. *shrug* If there was any warning this wouldn't be the case I wouldn't be as miffed, but it all looks sketchy now. Also, I like the casual random 1 vs 16, 2 vs 15 and then suddenly 3 vs 9 in the veteran bracket. Can we please get some clarification on how this all came to be? -

If the participants are unsatisfied with the matchups, it is easy for me to make the matchups according to seeding using the list that was given to me. I, however won't change the matchups if only one person feels that his matchups isn't fair.

if the first part of the structure "having the list of the spinners in order that they got in " wasn't followed properly to the best of my knowledge, why would I follow the second part of the structure? If you still feel as if the seeding method should have been following regardless of the order of the spinners, its fine by me as long as other spinners agree with it too. @i.suk I gave the judges a criteria to judge all the videos by (exceution, difficulty etc.) but I personally don't have any data since I was only given a list of the spinners that qualified. I am gonna ask and see if they could perhaps provide the data. -

Ehm, you're saying you don't actually HAVE the seeding of the spinners? If so, why not? Did they not judge properly? Did you not compile the results so that it could be seeded properly? If that's the case, this is all irrelevant. =/ -

like I said I just got a list of spinners without any real data or scores etc. I didn't have enough time to confirm it with the judges if the list was in order or not since people wanted the results asap. This also explains why I randomized the matchups since I didn't have any way to confirm if the list of spinners was in order or not. -waiting for judges to reply in order to confirm if list was in order or not atm- -

Yeah, I would agree with matchups based on seeding as was done in previous UPSBT and other tournaments, probably more fair and more useful for preventing early things like Eriror vs. Isuk. I don't have a problem with the current seeds specifically or anything, but it seems like a more organized and logical way to do it ^^

This is very true, and this is how it was planned to be done in the first place. But judges didnt score anybody (as far as we know), making seeding impossible at this point. And as aafg said, everyone was bugging him for results, so he was forced to randomize it at that time. -

I know, I read the thread; I was saying that I support use of seeds rather than random matchups since Aafg said it would only really be worth pursuing if more than one person would like that done. I posted that for the same reason neoknux did. It's as simple as asking judges for seeding order and justification, which I believe he's doing anyway (asking if results were placed in order, at the very least). -

I would actually be fine with a changed match up. Based on Seeding gives more of an idea and it's possible to see things coming (like strong opponents next round)

It's hard to judge a combo like I did. Remind me of the RSVP tournament, where 3 judges gave me 3 TOTALLY different scores. I don't understand why you guys are complaining so much honestly. If a spinner is going up against someone at a harder level, isn't that good? Not to blow off or knock anyone, but isn't this tourney to better our spinners and ready them for WT, and not for the current WT class spinners to maintain some level of decency? What this tourney looks like to me is a great training tool for next year, and I'm having a tough time understanding why you are all getting a big dick over it. I mean I didn't read the whole thread, so pardon my ignorance on the topic, but it seems like everyone is being a big crybaby about this all. The random match ups will push some to add more creativity/ better their overall spinning. And to the people bitching about the tourney being poorly ran, please leave. Most of the people who are talking that way are either new, or don't go through with projects themselves. I am not new. And I have organized various offline , and online tournmanets before..Where i have participated at the same time. Ive even had to take over a tournament which was just left behind and do it myself. The whole point of seeding is so that its fair match ups. In fact, its also to prevent absolutely STUPID match ups. Sure, this round doesn't look that bad, it was just by chance of this whole situation that we dont have eriror vs isuk. Its a very basic feature of a tournament. Thats why you dont see federer vs nadal in the first round of tennis. Because they seed them. Your argument with making weaker opponents face stronger ones is actually invalid. - Lets assume its seeded, that means that the weaker spinners will face the stronger ALREADY in the first round. Thats their time to up their game, and if they can make it, thats great. - However, worst case scenario is that all the stronger spinner get knocked out this round, then the final round is possibly the weakest spinner vs the strongest. So now we dont even have a good holding on who is second place...or 3rd of 4th for that matter. Which ruins a large purpose of this tournament. -

Then, may I ask, why didn't YOU step up to run this tournament? And in regards to seeding the tournament, who really cares? Basically you're saying the people who are good will stay good, and not give others a chance to make a name for themselves. Again, I thought this tournament was mainly to ready people who are not yet at WT level... Not for WT spinners to have a few easy rounds against non WT people then make it to the finals and finish up. I understand that for these WT prospects to better their-selves, they need to battle tougher opponents i.e. WT spinners, but in the case of not seeding the tourney, they will be able to progress even more into the bracket and continue putting out better and better combos. I really didn't come here to further this into an even more heated debate, I'm just saying that it seems like there is more complaining going on than dealing w/ it and spinning (which is what this tournament should be about:)) -

OT : I finally got in contact with the judges and the list that was given to me was not in order [confirmed]. Since this doesn't comply with the original rules that were set up (seeding). I will post the actual list according to seeding and match the people up according to seeding. Sorry for the confusion. Yes, the deadline will be changed. -

...huh? ...What? Everyone already has a fair go. Thats what the qualification round and videos were for. There is no bias or bonus points given to the seeding. Its purely whoever tried their best, gets a stronger position. So its the spinners own skill which gets their initial seeding. Nothing else, No WT bias, no brownie points, ...that is all completely irrelevant in the qualification round. Also, versing newer spinners isnt always easy for us WT spinnners. I have to try my hardest to even barely keep up with isuk and eriror. Newer spinners will also have the most material in the initial rounds, as well as being unknown, so it gives them the ability to show any new tricks and combinations they have over the WT spinners who have been seen over and over again. So...Its pretty hard for us to always wow the judges even with a higher skill level. The truth is, I think a lot of WT spinners have been worn out a lot. Thats why seeding is important for any tournament like this. -

Additionally, most of this combo was developed with a mouse and keyboard, writing up the notation THEN performing it. It is very precise and took a long time to adjust and refine so that it could be executed. I'll add an explanation video soon, a slomo is unlikely to show you some movements.

Haha no… I'm very glad I didn't battle you this round because I would have grossly underestimated you O_o You're now on the top of my list of 'People I don't want to battle xD' Also with regard to combo, the atarting triangle pass is inverse reverse T14, I've only seen inverse reverse done in 123, 134 and 234, never with T. I experimented with ot, but grats on getting the idea down and perfected before me xD The video also remind me about TPIH... It's actually just fingerswitch + fist charges like F2F did in his video, I think I'll have to consider adapting notation for it... Hm. My favourite combo for this bracket. -

@Tigres cough). But then again, as I look at it, the clip is actually not that bad as I had thought it would be. And yes, I got lazy so I didn't bother obsessing if I got notation of the breakdown correct. And it's still a possibility that I'll lose just to the sheer reputation we've seen from the judges currently. There was a clip that was better than this but there was a glitch in the video where it skipped frames for about two seconds. -
