Hey guys, does anyone have an idea of the different rare pens and their current market values ($)? Is it true that rare pens have increased value as the years go by? -Josh

yes the thing is, collectors [of rare pens] retire, so the amount of "rare pens" in the community shrinks over time higher demand/lower supply = price increase

Some people sell their rare pens like. 300 dollars each. That sucks -_-

You guys cant just say "they sell their rare pens for this many dollars" it depends on the damn pens. like miffys can go for like $15 each now

Pens that have been out of production for many years. Eg. F3000/3000*F sorry i get confused over which one. Pens that have a low number left due to no more production Eg. Japanese Dr grips The colour of the pen is rare or out of production Eg. A marvey marker There are also many other factors that determine the price. The condition on the pen(s), the packaging has never been opened etc No pen has a definite value that it hold. There will always be factors that will affect the price.

But the value of dr grips has been driven wayyy down cuz penwish is selling the grip by itself for a pretty cheap price.

Hmm I'm pretty sure the pens don't go for 300 over. Two years ago the price of 3000*F was 20 - 30 USD. I believe the market value has increased now that 2 years have passed.

The market value for 3000*f's have fluctuated. A year ago, they were down to around 20 bucks, but it has since gone up. F-3000's are out of production, but are still found in Hong Kong and Macau (?). The MV is more or less the same as it was a year ago.

ok im pretty sure you guys are talking about two different things. afaik, since this thread is in "regular" pens section, it should be only about stock pens value $300 i'm sure is only for pens whose value is augmented due to their owner (e.g. bonkura's pens)

the only pen spinning stock pen i can think of that is unmodded and not originally belonging to some famous spinner... that can go for ~$300, would be perhaps comssa v1.. and even that... maybe not, but we wont' ever really know since nobody's selling them

Whats the value of a GPC Comssa? Only 50 ever made? :S

  15. Matrix-Chan
    Date: Sat, Aug 28 2010 23:34:02

No true, I think it was 250. In the GPC, they're about 50$. But they don't seem that rare.

The fuck? No pen can EVER be 300$, unless it was made from like diamonds and 9000 karet gold. A v1 (from my knowledge) could probably fetch around 100$. Even more so, pens usually never exceed the ~70$USD limit, except for that Ice Kuzu. Hoiboy is right, higher demand/low supply=higher price. however, the OLD namaes are SOMEWHAT in demand, not crazy in demand like watercolours. Just depends which pen.
