For Ctionist, at the beggining because he was battling A13x, I was like "If you goddamn pull this off.." and then he dropped it and I thought that would ruin his chances but then he did the rest and I was like "holy craaaaaaaaaaaap" o_o

a13x has really started the progression of what I'd call 'balanced' spinning in the later rounds, a good dose of creativity, power and hard links, a bit of everything, which I believe I posted before was going to be the next big impact of spinning after power in 2009 His R5 combo is ridiculous, everything is planned out so well. He hits all four categories so well, I think it's the closest I've ever seen to a 20/20 combo.

hippo made a post a year ago about the impacts of wc12 saying the exact same thing about balanced combos http://forum.upsb.info/showthread.php?t=10651&p=196250&viewfull=1#post196250 "I'm gonna' take a guess and say the craze that this WC generates is either Fingerstucking (BaiMai and Minwoo) or more linkage heavy combos complimented by power (Iva and i.suk)." you're a year late :P although WT11 (with a more balanced view rather than the relatively more power/trick-focused WC10 and WT09) already started a more balanced approach (kin, s777; supawit using 1p2h, snow, sponge)....it's not like this trend has just arisen, it's been around for quite a while -

I think this WT13 show us the end of the "spam" , we all have seen a lot of combo like "power trick">spam/filler>power trick> spam/filler>power trick. now it is more like power trick> hard link> power trick> hard link> power trick , doing punkan and haitua variations with some twisted twisted sonic in between was good in the past but not now ^^ I'm still thinking Sutomo is one of the most balanced spinner

is this really true? i think spam still exists even in "hard links" -

If i'm right, spam is totally unrelated to difficulty, but with repeating the same links (or motions, for some people) in a combo. So yes, that is not true. -

exactly, and that's why the WT is Hard, creating new tricks or links at every rounds is one of the best challenge ^^ and that's what i really enjoy here

Spam is repeating something again and again. The question is if using the same material across all rounds is spam, or just using the same material in one combo more than once is spam, or both. Spam isn't always bad either. Heck, I love me some corned beef.

Fried Spams are really nice. I had the honour of trying those at @Baaron 's house. -

I think He is somewhat implyimg that spamming power is harder than spamming links, eg if everyone could spam power everyone would be god. Power is not that easy.

I think that spamming power should not be counted a not so easy stuff. I think most spinners even great spinners dont do power spam because its not in their style and it looks too boring if you watch the 2nd time. Peace out....

There are different views regarding power spam. But the view towards it is time dependent...Maybe at first you will be amazed the 1st time you saw it and perhaps it would be ok just to repeat it every time...But as time goes by you'll get used to it and it starts to get too boring and old. I dont know but regardless of the views of other spinners about power spam its "was" amazing way back then.and maybe its just going out of the trend. The trend now is about a balance of all the other aspects of pen spinning not based solely on power.which is great you know a well balanced combo is more elegant than a power pack combo in my opinion
