General Discussion / What pens to get and use for a beginner.

I am, for the most part, a beginner pen spinner. I can do the fundamentals, the reverse TA, twisted sonic, and the twisted sonic bust. I recently bought a Buster CYL and a ZT mod from Penwish. I am completely aware this is regarded as a bad idea (the Buster CYL), but I didn't know at the time, and it looked enticing. Gripe all you want, but it's done and done, I bought it. Now, should I use it at all? That's what I'm here to ask you. I know see and understand why it's seen as a bad beginner pen, but I now have it. I could just use the ZT for the time being, but I will always be tempted every once and awhile when I get frustrated on a new trick, I bet. Thoughts? Advice? Ideas? Complaining about how people like myself are ruining pen spinning won't get anyone anywhere, so I'm looking for sincere input.

Helpful, but not exactly what I had it mind. I was referring as to what to do in my specific situation. Thank you though.

if the buster is to heavy for you , put other tips on it . or if you like to spin very light mods put the tips off. ( i hope you understand my english :) )

Good idea. I might do this so as to not become to used to or reliant on the weight.

you could also change grip and tip to make buster lighter then change it back whaen you're ready for heavy mod.

There's really no research done showing that heavier mods such as the buster slows the progress of beginners compared to other lighter mods. Use what you want. If you like the buster and you're used to it, just use it. But if you feel it isn't right for you, there are other mods our there to choose from. Also, you can remove/add tips and grips as said above to really customise to your preferences.

Make a Bictory. It is easy and less time consuming.

As a noobie, I agree. I also suggest an RSVP MX since its pretty easy to make. The difference between the two is a nice learning curve to play with, and a nice start to your pen collection :)

Yes, although beginners would want a balanced pen which is better in some cases.

I'd say just use the buster, unless its like too heavy for you although you're probably gonna get used to it.

Use whatever you get your hands on and waste your yime actually spinning instead of lurking on UPSB.
