Hi there. I'm NumoT and I just started spinning a few days ago... I've gone ahead and got a Buster CYL mod from Penwish and am currently using that, however I find it's quite long and heavy compared to what I expected. Is this an okay pen to use as a beginner? Does anyone have some recommendations for what might be a better pen to begin with?

Hey Numo! First and foremost :welcome2: to upsb. As a beginner you are expected to use some light pens or mods. TBH only a few day spinner should be spinning a pencil. Using a buster cyl is not a good pen at all for many reasons. - Will ruin your style - Will create large stress on your hands - Get alot of crap and being known as a buster noob So no. Busters aren't a good pen to start with.

Don't use a buster if you're a beginner as he ^ said. It WILL ruin your style. You will be trolled a lot and in the future you will have a large difficulty spinning lighter mods. Use a mod like a BICtory or an RSVP mod. They are cheap and easy to make. :welcome2: to the land of trolls.

busters... busters everywhere my friend. :welcome2: to UPSB!! some advice, busters are fine to use, just dont start with em, learn some good stuffs first, maybe after a year or before you can hold a buster, use mx or comssa, they are good to begin, especially for the fundys, busters on the other hand, are meant for execution of advanced tricks, ex. hai tua, spreads, fl ta palmspin. and no i aint a ktrinh fanboi, i like him only cause of his clear tutorials. and yeah, its fine if you hold on to your buster, and does NOT "kill"your style, personal experience it jus- *knifed* sorry for the long advice, long to short, your buster is okay. not to be flamed please geh, welcome again! by the way, use a balanced mx imo for a recommended mod ^_^

Hey :) :welcome2: UPSB I hope you have a great time here :3 Also DON'T use a buster if you're a beginner because it's very heavy... also I recommend you use a Comssa or a BICtory mod to learn the basic fundamentals in Pen spinning... anyways, welcome again to UPSB :)

:welcome2: to UPSB. Use a buster if you like. Those who say starting out with heavy mods will kill your style, make you unable to spin light mods in future bla bla go have a look at the latest thread sidebar titled "i.suk rushon session". You're welcome.

What you should do is. Get the buster. Remove the tips. Spin it without the tips. Send the tips to me.

Welcome to UPSB, the Buster CYL is a great mod to learn with! Good luck and good spinning. :) I personally prefer the Waterfall mod, I find it easier to spin.

:welcome2: To UPSB. I must say that if you don't mind spinning SC Mods, try a Product SC. They can be found on Penwish. I learned with one of those and It grew to be one of my single favorite pens. Something about them makes them incredibly fun to spin.

Just think what style you want to get - JEB style or powertricks style. You can't use a buster and beeing stylish at any time of your spin (beginner or advanced). But if you want to be stylish and good at power tricks I'd recommend you Dr. AC + metal comssa + any mod that is good for style.

Everyone saying this and that about buster... The truth is, it won't matter what mod you use, the most important thing, far above all else, is how much you practice.

Buster is a good pen to learn tricks on and it's also good if you're into power tricking. I'm a comssa whore myself, so I recommend any variants of comssa :) Heavy pens are good to learn tricks on but can leave you with bad style (which is arguably the most important thing) Light pens are good for gaining control and smoothness. They will help develop style and control well.

My progress: made progress on fundamentals, though having trouble executing sonic instead of charging sometimes, thumbaround is pretty good, fingerpass is a work in progress! Oh and I got myself a metal commsa now, no more BUSTER!
