Here's a link to the group: http://forum.upsb.info/group.php?groupid=122 What is this group? As of January first, members of this group are committed to try and learn one new trick every week. It doesn't matter what your current skill level is, you just learn a new trick each week. I thought this might be good for people who want to improve their current skill, or to set a pen spinning related new years resolution. How it works Each week, from January 1st next year, you try to learn a new trick every week. I'll make a new discussion each week for discussion on current progress. I will also find resources on several new tricks each work (such as tutorials/threads) and place them in the that thread. This will be the 'suggested tricks to learn'. You don't have to learn a suggested trick though, you can learn any trick you want each week.

Kari;235424]You'd run out of tricks.
Do you know how many tricks there are? The trick book at the moment, lists over 500 tricks! At the rate of one trick a week, it would take 10 years to learn them all. That is also assuming, that none are invented in the next ten years. There are many in the trick book I have never seen performed too, for example: Fingerless Indexmiddleringpinkyaround Release Inverse Ringspin Inverse Foot bounce
New tricks can be invented ;)
And yes, I need to update the trick book, since it has had a year without update, to add some of these new tricks. I'm sure some were invented. Between version 1.7 and 1.8 (I think that was about 6 months), there were 15 new tricks added to the trick book. Linkages =/= tricks. -

you'll never run out of tricks to learn! there's an infinite number of tricks waiting to be discovered. Unless of course you want to be a notation fag and break all the innovation into what's old.

Rude, Mats is on the research team, I'm sure he knows what a trick and a linkage is... Anyway, "Strange" sonic, "Inverse" around, inverse "Inverse" around and hover sonic are some new tricks/hybrids I demonstrate in this video: I'm continuously coming up with new ideas, so expect to see some new stuff in current years ^^ -

@Mats I'm sorry if that came across as "rude". It wasn't meant to be that way at all.
