Presentation / Disabling auto-exposure

I just got a Genius Slim 1322AF webcam. It is really good except for 1 problem - I can't disable the auto-exposure. The room is rather well-lit, but the webcam still insists on turning on auto-exposure, which causes it to be choppy and pretty much screwed up. What can I do to increase the FPS? If I have a white background, everything is smooth, but my mod is white as well... There is no way for me to get more light.

I could, but that would be a complete waste of money. This webcam is great, except for this particular issue. I wouldn't want to spend another $20++ just because of this auto-exposure shit. -

Doesn't the recording program/software for your webcam have a setting to turn on/off Auto-Exposure?

It's grayed out.
