------------ How to register? Send an e-mail to [email protected] with the following information:
[*]Community name [*]Manager e-mail [*]Number of requested slots [*]Number of judges

30 seconds, might make things interesting also: "Judging committees are assigned a weight. Bigger communities with more judges will have a more important vote than others." how is 'bigger' defined? since a lot of members in some boards (especially UPSB ) are not those boards' main members; and LPSA only has 50 members, so is their vote weighted less even though they have a larger number of good spinners than most other boards do? bigger community doesn't mean better judging either, and it just allows some larger boards which may hold certain ideologies to enforce them on competitors when judging also allows for more arguments over results, but i guess it always happens so w/e

the rulebook has more clarification, it's about past judging history, bigger in terms of number of judges

boards can send any number of judges, but the real challenge is how many of them will actually judge in each round; that will impact the weight of the committee

LPSA only has a greater ratio because they're a seeded community.

Agree, 30 seconds is pretty long. But meh sure, I guess I'm good. Btw, just an input. To all the future judges of WT13, try to send your results on time. We don't want the same mistake to happen like in WC12, right? Thanks! (sun)

Date: Thu, Sep 27 2012 16:40:56

@Far While I personally agree that a 30 second combo is a bit too long (read: I don't have the consistency to film a 30 second spam-free combo at a difficulty on par with shorter ones >w< ), it's worth noting that this will also take pressure off of the spinners on some levels. Combos have been drifting towards 20-25 seconds or so, and as a result there's pressure to cram in as much as possible into 25 seconds or less, spin faster to do so, whatever. Also, if you film something that's just barely 26 seconds, at least now it's usable vs. having to refilm or have the first/last second ignored. Even though there's pressure now to make longer combos and try to have something for 30 seconds be spam-free and on par with your personal limit of difficulty, it's my hope that judges don't give difference in combo length too much weight. This should only matter in very close battles where two combos are extremely evenly matched, if there's something like a 5-10 second difference in length, imo. At that point, if the combos both feel evenly matched in terms of the judging elements of WT, and the longer combo isn't simply spam or easy links to get more time, there's clearly something to be said for the greater consistency of a combo of 30 seconds vs. 20 if the links/tricks/execution are all otherwise very even. Hopefully, this doesn't come up too much, cause I feel like 22-26 seconds for a combo is a reasonable, solid length.

24. ChainBreak
Date: Thu, Sep 27 2012 17:59:56

I like 30 sec limit. It prevents unnecessary discussions about videos being 26 seconds instead of 25 seconds.

25. coffeelucky
Date: Thu, Sep 27 2012 18:25:58

Then, we'll have unnecessary discussions about videos being 31 seconds instead of 30 seconds.

Walkaz wrote: how many judges must a board send? please give a specific range :D also can the manager be a judge? edit : can the manager compete in the wt?
you can send any number of judges, the more the better but what matters is how many are able to judge each round manager can be judge or competitor, but not both also the judging weight will be affected by quality of judging (this means how complete your results are -> full criteria disclosure + comments on for every battle is high quality, just picking winners is bad quality) and also the ability to meet judging deadlines.

coffeelucky;226403]Then, we'll have unnecessary discussions about videos being 31 seconds instead of 30 seconds.
And when that begins to happen more frequently the length will be increased again.
Ok cool, LPSA will provide 50 judges then
Unless LPSA's recently recruited new spinners, doesn't that mean LPSA doesn't plan on winning?... [QUOTE=Ivabra wrote: btw, I think 30 seconds is a bit long, but whatever^^
I'm sure length of combo wont be a huge factor unless it's very obvious (5 seconds vs 26 seconds). 30 seconds of spinning shouldn't be seen as a requirement, it just gives spinners more flexibility in pacing or content they want to include, especially later on in the competition.

most communities have a hard time getting more than two judges to consistently judge every round... and 50 judges doesnt mean your opinion counts 50 times, could just mean your opinion counts 1.05x also you cant event judge your own battles anyway

Won't spinners that represent communities with bigger judging comittees be in disadvantage in 1st round? I mean, depending on how big the judging comittee from your community is, you will be prevented for getting a different vote, since they are weighted. Example: spinner1 is from community A spinner2 is from community B spinner3 is from community C spinner4 is from community D Assigned weights to voting: community A: 1 community B: 2 community C: 3 community D: 4 spinner 1 can get a max of 9 votes spinner 2 can get a max of 8 votes spinner 3 can get a max of 7 votes spinner 4 can get a max of 6 votes

74. Zombo
Date: Tue, Dec 18 2012 17:18:36

weights wont be in effect in the first round another way is normalize votes by dividing by possible amount of votes each spinner can get

Hmm no swiss board or italy board... there's one more wildcard left. I demand QPSB :P but on a serious note, no MYPSC? I thought there was going to be at least a person from MYPSC.

1 as planned + 2 from psuk + if i'm informed correctly another one because ipsb is only sending 3 spinners -> 4 wildcards
